"I'm a hard-core socialist. I demand people open large corporations and hire people to produce a product and the people get paid a salary!" Ben: What are you even talking about right now? Did someone drop you on your head as a baby?
"What is so immoral about believing that the worker is entitled to the full value of their labor?" Nobody said it's immoral. Problem is that not every labor is of significant value. If I go out to dig a hole in the yard and then proclaim to the whole neighborhood "see here, I've dug a hole. Compensate me for my labor!" The neighbors would stare at me bewildered and say "but who asked you to dig that hole?". A different less comical example would be the difference in labor of say a flight jet pilot compared to the labor of a cashier. Nobody says the cashier isn't entitled full value for their labor, it's just not going to be the same as that of the jet pilot.
It doesn't even need to go that deep. They apparently don't understand. When you ACCEPT a job at "x dollars, per y". You're literally signing a contract stating, that's what YOU, feel YOUR time is worth, MONETARILY.
@@Tixbomber No it doesn't mean that. If there's a surfeit of labour (due to mass immigration in the US say, or freedom of movement and mass immigration in Europe) it allows employers to put a downward pressure on wages (except for their own of course). Perhaps you failed to notice how after the financial crash it took a decade or more for ordinary workers to even regain the living standards they'd enjoyed prior to the crash, whilst the wealthier just got richer and richer. The OP's comment is just as ridiculous. Who is worth more to society as whole... a nurse or a teacher or a delivery driver, or an advertising exec or middle manager or even someone who plays sports professionally? Now who gets paid the most? It's certainly not the former group. The example he gives, comparing a pilot and a cashier is as dumb as his 'joke' example in that a pilot has a specific skill set which the cashier doesn't. But his pilot's salary pales into insignificance compared to say a basketball player, or footballer, but to society as a whole his skills are far more valuable than tossing a ball round a field.

@Eat Shnitzel- I live in Canada. Socialist health care is slow, cumbersome, expensive, and inefficient. This nation was in very good fiscal shape until leftist Pierre Trudeau - who admired Russia and Cuba, and had delusions of intellectual grandeur - took it over in 1968, and spent the next 15 years burying it in debt and useless bureaucracy.
@Eat Shnitzel- Canadians have DIED waiting. Many have gone to the States to get help they've been denied here. Government gets to decide who gets priority, and that often means treating the elderly like they don't count. Bureaucrats have access to your personal medical records - a violation of doctor-patient confidentiality. They can decide what treatments you may or may not have, depending on what the system is willing to pay for. Personally, when I was about 32, I had an unexplained chronic sharp pain in my abdomen, and it took SIX MONTHS for this utopian socialized health care system to accomplish TWO TESTS, neither of which diagnosed the problem. (Luckily for me, it went away on its own.) If you can get past your preconceived notions and want to know what it's really like, read William Gairdner's "The Trouble With Canada" and "The Trouble With Canada, Still." Also, what you call "market regulation" is nothing but top-down interference, and it leads to economic train wrecks.

“So much for the tolerant right.” Ah, yes, remind me how many people there tried shouting over you so you couldn’t be heard? How many people tried stopping you from getting into the building? How many threats of violence if you receive while attending Ben’s speech?
Little does this kid realize, socialism isn’t exactly tolerant either. All he has to do to see that is look in a history book at the actions of people like Joseph Stalin, Mao Zedong, Pol Pot, and the Kim family.
I never cease to be impressed with Shapiro, especially his ability to dialogue and elucidate his positions.
Poor little snowflake considers laughter from those who do not agree with him "intolerant.".
Unless you treat a psychopath like he is mentally stable...you're intolerant????🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
"I'm a hard-core socialist. I demand people open large corporations and hire people to produce a product and the people get paid a salary!"
Ben: What are you even talking about right now? Did someone drop you on your head as a baby?
Wow..slam dunk Ben👍
So a few people snickering is considered intolerant?
Only for the easily butthurt.
“Comrades” this is pathetic
He stood in the mirror for days practicing this and still fumbled. Was clearly not on the same level as Ben.
That was very entertaining watching his argument crumble in front of him
God bless Ben!! Great teaching!!
"What is so immoral about believing that the worker is entitled to the full value of their labor?"
Nobody said it's immoral.
@@Tixbomber hahah true
@@ShanghaiRooster well of course. Free markets don’t get you “oughts”. His examples weren’t stupid, just in line with reality on how our system is currently set up. Why don’t ya chill out a bit?
@@ShanghaiRooster society clearly has decided that it values professional athletes over pilots. You can train most people to be a pilot. You cannot "train" exceptional athletic talent and ability.
He said, “that a worker is entitled to the full value of their labor” in Socialism, and I would ask if that is the case in China, Russia or North Korea?
HEY MAN, THAT'S NOT REAL SOCIALISM !!!!!! :)
If he agreed to work for me for $10 an hour, then $10 an hour is the full value of his labor.
@Eat Shnitzel remind me how much taxes they pay and the cost of a combo meal....
surely you're not comparing a county with 5.8M people with the entirely of the united states.
@@nowthatsjustducky Spoken like a true globalist. I bet you also love mass immigration because it increases the supply of cheap labour, giving you the opportunity to put downward pressure on wages (except for yours and your fellow suits of course). Kudos.
@@ShanghaiRooster " I bet you also love mass immigration because it increases the supply of cheap labour"
Ummm no, that is what the Democrat party does to keep everyone poor. Then they tell the poor they can help them not be poor. It's shocking how many people actually fall for that! lol
One thing I've learnt from people who preach "take from the rich and give to the poor" is that they never practice it themselves.
Have you noticed that a lot of people use the words "Intellectually dishonest" whenever they seem like they are doing bad in an argument. It is like their last hope to try to turn the argument around and it never seems to work.
That dude made Shapiro look macho in comparison.
Ah yes, an unforgettable classic: Ben vs the ✏️ guy
Because he doesn’t have much else for content and won’t debate someone who actually knows will destroy him. Except for college kids he debated years ago... who actually knew what they were talking about but were overpowered
@@isafauxmystrahsmith9415 go debate him then.
@@isafauxmystrahsmith9415 Bulloney, Ben has gone up against dozens of these kids professors and skewered them just as easily. Now if you want to claim that the professors are just as dumb, well then I will agree with you.
"My comrades" Cracking me up dude🤣🤣
Starts off by saying “so much for the tolerant right” when no one did anything negative to him and then gave him a platform for a respectful discussion…
Those strongly advocating for socialism.....have never lived it.
Dude lost me when he said hes comrades
That was unintentional. Ben caught that slip and brought up Marx in his response.
Really I thought it was when he said he was a socialist lol
0:22 "so much for the tolerant right" he says after a few murmurs of dissent.
Well how about being banned from entering the building in the first place or being cancelled or shouted down as you speak. Ben is right, at least he is there.
He probably had this line ready before he spoke.
0:25 did mr socialist have the audacity to say the "tolerant right" in a sarcastic way? Lol.
It's not the right out on western streets bashin up jewz at the minute.
He needn't talk about tolerance. 🤦♂️😂
This guy is great I love him and he knows his stuff and he is always prepared and has his answers.
Nothing like standing in front of a crowd and have your whole argument collapse ...give this man a snickers
I had an almost exact same experience with a friend of mine who thought of himself as a socialist. I think a lot of these "socialists" aren't really socialists but are simply confused in the terminology.
Soon as he uses the word "comrades", he's done for.
Go get em’ Ben!
Well, the kid did mention his "comrades", so we can say he leans more communist.
The student doesn’t know what “socialism” is.
It's sad when a self proclaimed socialist doesn't understand socialism. 🤦♂️
“I’m defining socialism by my own rules which you define as capitalism, damn you”
"Full disclosure, I'm a socialist....I reject state socialism..." Cognitive dissonance is a terrible thing in such a young man.
This guy doesn't have a clue, calls himself a socialist??????? He doesn't know what the HELL he is talking about.
When you have to twist yourself in so many knots to make socialism seem acceptable that you actually end up being a capitalist 😂
Im a socialist. In my definition, it means I have a very active social life.
That would be a socialite old chum
He had that "so much for the tolerant right" line locked in the chamber, he just looked even dumber for blurting it out because 2 people in an auditorium quietly chuckled instead of getting booed by the room like he was expecting
It requires money to make money. This is the best secret I have discovered .. we don't make money we EARN and MULTIPLY money .
That's absolutely right mate .. Multiplying the earn is most important, investment is the key to multiplying those earn..
Personally I invested in forex/bitcoin not just a believer but has been making huge huge income in a space of a month .. Even more than I earn while working my ass out .
So many talk about bitcoin at my working place some months back and had to try it on my own but been making a so much losses .
@@rolandjames9555 That's because you got the wrong idea about trading in bitcoin .. you supposed to be guided by an expert broker. Had no idea until I was referred to expert Krill Peter who has helped me made so much profit . making over $79 k with his signal .. You could get contact him if you wish okay ..
Hey don't tell you me you talking about my broker Krill 😊 ..whom with his single traded my 0.1 btc into 3.1btc .. and still aiming for more bitcoin before the year runs out . personal recommend him for anyhow who wants or having difficulty in bitcoin trading to make more money .
So, like basically, I really want socialism, but like, I want it to look and feel and work like capitalism, but without the name, you know what I'm sayin'?
You want capitalism but with a different name I think is what you mean
Lol
If he is a socialist let’s send him to a socialist country. Maybe Cuba would like him.
He and is comrades should start their own business and when it starts showing profit. give business to workers . Then ask his opinion
Or, on the other hand you could cite the Chairman and CEO of Universal, who is line to cop a $150 million bonus after the company was launched on the stock exchange this week. He didn't start the company, but just happens to be the lucky guy in the hot seat at the right time to cash in.
It's quite obvious you don't understand how Mondragon (cited by the student) works. It's entire basis is as a co-operative from the off. So, the ordinary workers share in the success of the various companies (the whole comprises over 257 companies in various fields which operate under this umbrella), and that gives them an incentive. Far better IMHO than seeing the CEO and other suits walk off with a multi-million dollar bung each year, whilst the workforce get tossed a few crumbs.
@@ShanghaiRooster No one is stopping anyone from forming a co-operative company, as Ben stated clearly in his response. Socialism, however, would prevent others from forming the kind of company they want.
My new favorite pastime is watching Shapiro obliterate fools at conferences. That fella on this didn't stand a chance. This is the world we live in today where wet behind the ear rich kids who have a university education and have read a couple of books on socialism/communism think they know it all.Nothing can buy intalect and backbone and stone cold Truth .Big up Ben!
Lol I love how the crowd simply giggled at him and he’s like “so much for the tolerant right!!!” 😂
Completely DESTROYED.
The moment he started to speak, his brains fell out.
I believe he received some clarity, which would be a good thing. When you remain so entrenched in your circle of like minded friends you'll never see how your views may be erroneous until it is held to the light of argument and the public sphere. It's humiliating, but this is how people learn. Isn't what university education should be all about as opposed to indoctrination?
Oh, this is the guy dressed as a pencil ✏️
Marx has quite a bit to be ashamed of already.
You would think these simple-minded people would get sick and tired of being put in their place.
does that Socialist student even know what Socialism is?...doesn't sound like it?
This is what happens when you're not educated. You take on your own meaning of words - then try to live in the real world.
A cat approves of Ben Shapiro.
Does a cat enjoy pets? No pats. A lot of cats hate the pat.
Good cat
Well , my cats must be Republicans since they do love watching Shapiro with purring when they sit on my lap!
@Adryanna Martinez A cat isn’t a bot.
@James Scott, Well you must be on every conservative channel if you know A cat is on every conservative channel. So that either makes you a bot or a hypocrite.
He makes the same mistake Michael Moore made in his doco "Capitalism: A Love Story" where Moore showed a bakery owned by the workers
They were still making a profit in a capitalistic system (of a free market)
The guy that's trying to talk and doesn't know what he is talking about that's what's wrong with this country these young people think they know what is going on and the don't and the scary part is they can vote that's what is scary they need to wait until they are smart enough to know what they are talking about before they open there mouths and before they vote.
His "comrades?!" Ugh...! 🤦
These young men don’t know crap about socialist, I invite him to live in Cuba, North Korea or Venezuela then he would get the real flavor of socialist.
(Luckily for me, it went away on its own.)
If you can get past your preconceived notions and want to know what it's really like, read William Gairdner's "The Trouble With Canada" and "The Trouble With Canada, Still."
Also, what you call "market regulation" is nothing but top-down interference, and it leads to economic train wrecks.
Wow ,I've watched these shows often and it never amazes me how many miss lead people are out there. Shows how lazy people have gotten in not watching over our education.
"So, full disclosure, I'm a Socialist".. background, WOOOOO HOOOOO !!
THOSE WERE THE 4 SOCIALIST PROFESSORS @ THE UNIVERSITY...
I am glad I discovered this channel today!
Ben You are so bright and right! I’m glad we’re on the same team!
So many people attempt to engage in debate without having developed fully formed thoughts on the topic. They feel compelled to engage nonetheless because their emotions encourage them them to face opposing opinions in the hopes that their opposition will enter immoral territory by challenging them. This is why we should value people like Ben Shapiro, who do not subscribe to this rule.
Socialist: Me and my 'comrades'
Me: cringe!
I wish we could time travel back to when Karl Marx was alive, and have him debate against Ben Shapiro. That would be EPIC!
Ben Shapiro would wipe the floor with Marx. A dud product needs buckets of bullshit that are readily exposed as lies/delusions. People have seen what his ideas have done. 100`s of millions dead, countries torn apart. An idiot idea fit only for fools.
Would be no different than what you just witnessed.
The irony is that this guy asking the question would have been purged in a real communist country.
He would at least have been considered to be "useful" before the purge.
“So much for the tolerant right” he says as he is allowed to walk up to the microphone unmolested, proudly declare his position, and have a discourse with Shapiro.
Dude is cracked.
Facts & logic are like Kryptonite to trendy "College Comrades"

Has this dude ever held a real job, other than a summer part time job?
Has he ever worked hard to begin his own business, the sweat, the stress of lacking money to pay bills as you struggle to build a business ( all types of investments and sacrifices), yet these people think they deserve the equal reward without the same investments? Just wondering?
Proof…they don’t even know the facts of issues they are fighting against!

I like the way that he thinks if a company has two directors it's 'capitalist' but if it has 20 directors it's 'socialist'.
No, it's still capitalist, just with a load of owners.
He’s so clueless. This country is in so much trouble. These are the people that are supposed to take care of us when we’re old?
He looks like a pencil. ✏️
