- Warning! I said the A word and the B word in this video! I know some of you let your kids watch so I just want to warn you.
This was one crazy outing! My mission was to get some simple footage so I could practice doing a voice over video. Instead, I got into quite a cat fight with the store manager. I will never get over the fact that I don't have that part recorded. I think you would have been highly entertained by that!
Okay, not really a cat fight, but I was fuming and I sure let her know it. And I was loud and would not back down. I wanted to be sure she and all the other shoppers in the store knew how I felt about what she did. And I thought the camera was running so I said stuff I thought you'd want me to say (my way of blaming you for my attitude... lol). What a lost opportunity that was to capture a crappy store manager in action and put her out there for the world to see! I'll catch the next one!!!
The editing on this is very choppy and my camera does not do well when there is wind. My main purpose was to learn to lay a voice over pre-recorded video and I think I did okay for my first attempt (I've since learned a different method so I'll try that way next). But I was so tired that I really let myself do a lousy job with the rest of the editing. I hope you still enjoy it!

I work in retail and we are not allowed to act in that matter and I would not do that....I am so sorry that some people are so rude!!! I am a new subbie and also do Dollar Tree hauls. I wonder why you can't record in the store, it's not like the items are top secret!!

Yes, I think you should try a wig when you go out to a store. And good for you for sticking up for your self . You do not have to take that crap from anyone.

Have you thought about using your cell phone camera to record? Then you are not using a larger more noticeable one. More stealthy!
I hate phones. I don't even take my phone out with me. But no matter what I use to record, they can still watch my video and see that I recorded in their store then they can ban me. I don't want to lose my ability to shop there.

Hey Darlene, you should get those glasses that have a camera in them that way your recording whatever your looking at. Not sure how expensive those are but it is a good idea.

Yes, the vapo stick things still exist! I actually just bought some at dollar tree a month ago. Vicks also still makes them. Lol I love that you got caught!! Too funny

You need to get some camera glasses like a spy!!!. Then you would look like you had a blue tooth phone in your ear!!! It still throws me when it looks like people are talking to them selfs but are talking hands free. When I was a kid if you saw someone talking to them self you gave them a wide berth!!!

I suffered from sensitive teeth and used sensodine which helped but I had to go to the dentist to have him do something because I was suffering. After his treatment which he said should last 6 months for $150.00 I started swishing for 5 minutes with food grade peroxide once a day. A miracle happened. I no longer have sensitive teeth. I also just brush with pure soap, it's not unpleasant and it doesn't take the porcelain off my teeth like toothpaste does. It's been years and no problem. You might consider trying it. Love your videos so I'll subscribe.

I think videotaping inside a public space is only illegal if you tape private conversations.
There must be a way to disguise the camera! Now you have me thinking... and yes, the inhalers do exist, you can buy them on Amazon.
Disguising the camera will not help. They can still see the video and they'll know I recorded.
You are right, they would eventually figure it out, but I would hope they would act differently if they didn't know about the camera at first. Good luck with you videos, and I am enjoying them very much.

It's the younger generation. Most of them have been raised without any discipline and haven't been taught to show respect for others.

Sadly, I'm not surprised. Dollar Tree in my town (Waterville) has the worst customer service of any store I have ever experienced. You would think that all these stores that hire minimum wage employees are picking from the same pool of prospective employees. Yet Dollar Tree seems to manage to choose the most damaged people available. Most have mental issues that make them specifically unsuitable for the task they are hired for. I swear, at least 80% of the cashiers who work there are manifestly unfit to ever deal with the public, much less interact with hundreds of customers every shift. Anybody with a functioning brain could sit across a table from these people and easily ascertain within less than 60 seconds that not only is the person unfit to deal with customers, but that they are not well. Really makes me wonder what the screening process is. Is there even an interview?
Their company's policies also paint a picture of a company that passionately hates it's customers and does not understand or care about customer service on even the most basic level. Sadly, the people they service, the lower income demographic, is used to being treated like garbage. They tolerate abuse far more than other groups would.

You don't need a sign because the law is every where you cannot record someone without their consent. She was in the wrong for recording but employees should never talk about customers to other employees or other customers.
+Kitty Crazy You do not need anyone's consent to record, not unless it's a place where privacy is expected, like in a doctor's examining room. But stores, the beach, any public place like that, no consent needed.

+Darlene Michaud idk I work in a restaurant and I was told if customers are taking pics or video I have to tell them to stop A. because of the store name being inside the store everywhere and they are not aloud to post it because the name is copyrighted and B because if they happen to get pics or a video of other customers or staff in the store without their consent they can get in trouble. Every store is like that here. I live in Canada but I do know lots of places in the states are like that as well. There were actually people who sued other ppl for recording them when they were not aware and this was in regular places like Walmart and a hair salon not private places. Maybe it's different where you live but then again I think everyone knows this because why else are you tubers always being very sneaky and hiding the fact they are recording If it was legal to record anywhere not private? They just did not go about it in the right way at all and were being extremely rude about it.
I cannot stand employees with really bad customer service skills, I'm a bit of a snob in that I guess, .... they should not be disrespectful or moody with customers at all. my worst is waitresses/waiters

But, it never happened in the store. And, these were doozies not some broad recording in the store. Why the hell would that even be talk or whisper worthy? That chick must have had an incredibly boring life. omg

Please be careful about showing videos on conversations with other people. In my state it is against the law to do so without their knowledge. It's a felony. I would edit that video of yours if your state has the same law. I think it is a stupid law. I do know New York allows filming an conversation taping.
Please do your homework before you make blanket statements like this. It's certainly NOT a felony. And it's NOT against the law. I'm in Maine and we are a one party consent state. I'm the only one who has to consent to recording the conversation as long as I'm part of the conversation. What state are you in???
