    R.I.P. Ronnie. Those of us who had the pleasure of growing up with your music will never forget you, your humour and your dedication to the music we love. My sincere condolences to your family and your fans.

    Ronnie Hawkins appearance on the Last Waltz is the fuse that sets that show off.

    Im at an age where I am starting to re-discover musicians that that have long ago been relegated to the dust bin of history. Its incredibly interesting to start to see the connections and influences. I had totally forgotten about Ronnie's rockabilly days and his influences on so many other artists and genres. Boggles the mind to realize that much of the music that became iconic wouldn't even exist without this man's influence.

      I have partied with him many times. My father played with him for year. He has more notes then a Hammond organ as he would say

      @LesBarber 3 роки тому +2

      Erica the Party never stopped, Ronnie would rent a Motel Suites on the Lakeshore and rock the night away, his Rolls Royce Silver Cloud would pull up outside a Club/Bar called Le Coq D'or and automatic pilot to the Motel. lol

    The fact that the narrator skipped the names of Rick Danko, Richard Manuel, and Garth Hudson was disappointing. Otherwise it's a well done video.

    Actually levon Helm was from arkansas too. He started playing drums for Ronnie way back before he graduated high school.his parents told him he could go on tour with Ronnie as soon as he finished school and thats what he did the rest of the band aside from levon was later let go and replaced with the local musicians from Canada Robbie Robertson,Rick Danco,Garth Hudson,Richard Manual .

    • @davidlarue1264
      @davidlarue1264 3 роки тому +1

      Yea, Levon's parents insisted he finish high school so he'd have something to fall back on if the music thing didn't work out. Seems funny now.

      Thank you for that info. I always wondered how Levon got connected with The Band/The Hawks and how the Hawks got connected with Ronnie. Being they were both from Arkansas and the band being from Canada. I was hoping they'd explain it here but glad I read the comments. TY.

      Its become a marketing ploy. And maybe it always was. I've watched Some of the introductions, and looking at those attending, Lot of very nice suits gowns, and think "This is Rock & Roll?"
