Iréne Theorin (Brünnhilde) deutet auf ausgewählte Buhrufer im Parkett rechts und zeigt mit eindeutiger Geste, was sie von deren Verhalten hält. Diese reagieren mit einem erneuten Ausbruch von Empörungsbekundungen.

Fair play to her! If you want to express yourself tastelessy by boo-ing someone who has just performed an extremely difficult role, then expect a tasteless response. Booing is extremely old fashioned and these punters think they have a right to behave like spectators at a ancient gladiator. You can simply not applaud if you didn't enjoy it. How easy it is for people to judge from the comfort of their seats. Brava to her!👏
Booing is extremely old (?) fashioned but also means something, just like Wagner's operas. It's just another feedback from audience. You can disagree with this booing, but it also a kind of freedom of will from any angry audience.

@ Sure, I totally get that. But I think then she is perfectly within her right to give them the finger in response! It's people calling her rude for her reaction that I find unfair.
What about some self-awareness?? What could be expected after all those hours of wobbling? I have nothing against high salaries or high ticket prices but the audience should be able to demand good voices then. NOT a wobble factory!!!
@@michelledalymusic Certainly not! Booing, even as un-elegant as you describe, is the traditional reaction from audiences to a performance; and if the artist was not good enough then she/he needs to accept it.
On the other hand, "her right to give them the finger" is completely out of proportion and thousand times more un-elegant than booing. If she didn't agree with the audience reaction there are more "acceptable" ways to make that clear other than giving the finger.
Lastly, I was at the Ring III this year and it was BAD. I have been going to Bayreuth for many many years and I have always found a way of enjoying each performance, but this Ring was, without doubt, the worst thing I have seen in Bayreuth. The only singer/s worth of a proper Bayreuth performance was Lise Davidsen (and K Meyer).
@@facundoe598 traditional yes but that does not mean it is polite or correct. There are plenty of behaviours that are traditional but cruel & unnecessary. How can the audience expect her not to react. She is human. I've been to plenty of operas, gigs that I haven't enjoyed. I've also been in shows that have been booed! I just simply don't clap. I don't think the audience is "owed" or can "demand" something of an artist/production. People have off days and perhaps won't get hired again. Sure voice your opinions in reviews or feedback to opera company but booing like you're at the Gladiators in ancient Rome is nasty. I'm not saying giving the finger is right either. I'm saying it was a fair response to their booing. Maybe she's starting a new tradition! 😉

Carstorf hat 2013 dem Publikum den Vogel gezeigt. Er wäre sicherlich noch weiter gegangen, wenn Petrenko ihn nicht hinter den Vorhang gezogen hätte :D
Ambivalent. Ich verstehe, dass sie verletzt und wütend ist. Ich verstehe aber auch, dass Menschen, die Jahre auf Tickets warten und diese teuer bezahlen, mehr erwarten als dass eine Sängerin die (schwere) Partie einigermaßen durchsteht. Festspielwürdig ist die Leistung von Frau Theorin ganz sicher nicht.
Irene Theorin была очень эмоциональной в своей роли. Она прекрасно отвечает уровню фестиваля. Вы ужасную Petra Lang в Тристане слышали? Вот это невыносимо. А Theorin прекрасная актриса и певица!

Das war sicher ihr allerletzter Auftritt in Bayreuth. Dieses Jahr singt Catherine Foster die Brünnhilde und hoffentlich deutlich besser.
Foster ist phänomenal als Brünnhilde. Insbesondere im 3. Aufzug Götterdämmerung war es ein Unterschied wie Tag und Nacht im Vergleich zu 2022.

Foster and Theorin are both "kind-of-above-avarage", but no more than that.
Elle a bien raison, ce public est ignoble et ferait mieux de rester chez lui à bavasser sur les réseaux a-sociaux ! Huer les artistes est une violence inadmissible, on peut se contenter de ne pas applaudir !
Si hurler un artist est une violence inadmissible, alors donner un doigt devrait se payer un prison.
J'etais la (pas cette nuit la) et elle etait pas en forme, pour etre honnete, elle a tres mal chanté.

aber auch sehr lustig, es ging so schnell vorbei, dass es gar nicht alle mitbekommen haben. Es gab fast kein anderes Gesprächsthema unmittelbar nach der Vorstellung.
