The Left Hand of Darkness Interviews: That's Where We Were in 1967 (Episode 6)

In 1997, Ursula was interviewed by Dr. Karen Mann at Western Illinois University. We're sharing a few clips from that interview, which covered topics ranging from the rhythm of writing to the role of gender and climate in "The Left Hand of Darkness." This episode focuses on how Ursula chose to amend the novel's ideas in later years, through other writing, to reflect her evolving thoughts about sex and gender.
