Never thought I'd see the Doctor so heavily armed.
I'll show myself out.
@sk3lly2023 🤣🤣🤣
@sk3lly2023 Oh please, that joke was ARMless ;)
@@Trainwreck1979I ARM really annoyed by these comments
That joke has mavitas!
Eeee by God that joke was a stretch by a long arm mate. 😂
"It's really something you can sink your teeth into." *sliding off screen"
"By the skin of our teeth." *sliding off screen"
I LOVE THEM
Don't give up your day jobs, you two. 😁
Why did that make me laugh more than need too! :)
It took me some time realising what was going on - thought they were thinking back and another conversation or that they had been split in to two and had to unite again. Until ‘my arms are too long and it became a horror movie. It reminded me a little of Midnight - a being that has never met anyone else and uses fear to get in.
I'm so use to current doctor who I just thought it was a bad editing choice at first 😂
@@Luvcatz88 It was too subtle to notice when the fake Doctor walked in (but it's cool to re-watch the scene once you know and you can juuust see it!), but I think with the scene with fake Donna it was clearer that she was off, but I understand wondering if it was an editing error, the possibility crossed my mind!
@@travellerinthedarkI really liked how that was done. It felt a bit off to go from his first scene in the blue room to walking back in, like that scene wasn't fully resolved and we'd moved on. But then when they cut to him still in the room that's the first real chance for us to realize "oh, so if the Doctor is still in here then...." .
@@travellerinthedark I think that was intentional. The way it swapped between the two right off the bat indicated to me that the scenes were occurring concurrently. So if the Doctor was still in the other room, who was that sat there with Donna? And then we get Donna enter the Doctor's room, and she seems a bit off, and we're immediately led to believe neither the Doctor or Donna are with their real counter-parts, and that something creepy is going on.
@@MrJakeasaur98 Yeah, absolutely, it was cleverly done!
Can I just how say as much as CGI is used now and days for visual effects, they actually utilized practical, like mind blowing props for the transformation. It is WILD! Dude that extra Disney money is coming in handy, isn't it?
And yet thoes practical effects still looked like computer effects.
Thought the blue/green screen/CGI was actually surprisingly obvious.
Well it's more so the stuff with the arms, the robot, like none of that I thought was practical. The set itself is what it is.
Practical stuff is great but man the CG spaceship corridor sucks. Miss when they'd just film in a warehouse
@@thee2724 I'm not saying that the Practical stuff isn't great. I was saying that because everything else used CG that the actual practical effects just look CG.
I already know this episode for me will be a repeated rewatch for years to come. And it really makes me want to rewatch the original Doctor and Donna season.
I felt exactly the same,as I'm about to watch the 10th and Donna series again.
@@ElberethOhGilthonielok.... now you got me to do it too
I forgot how much I used to love BBC Three. Doctor Who Confidential getting cancelled was the start of me watching it less and less. I used to love this, the comedy shows and the random hidden gem movies they'd show
bbc 3 has not been worth watching at all since it came back apart from the odd film they have been showing every now and again. Unleashed is a great reason to watch bbc 3 again
But the its now-defunct online counterpart, "@@animelovers000"?
@@animelovers000 Yeah, sadly. I remember many nights as a teenager watching BBC3 when it was good and had a bunch of good shows worth watching. I don't think the people currently running that channel know how to appeal to young people.
My arms are too long...
Are you alright?
Are you my mummy?
Don’t blink
Hey, who turned out the lights?
My arms are too long
his arms are too long...
And ?
@@locustboy8448Which episode is the 3th one from
LOVE this episode! I'll be re-watching it alot. Thanks to the BBC for keeping on making this show as amazing as it is.
The writing was so incredibly tight and good, it didn't even really need the CGI and Green Screen stuff.
"Oh Jesus!" was so fantastic
The way he examines the props reminds me of the doctor examining stuff in show.
I really love Doctor Who Unleashed... as much as Doctor Who Confidential was great back in the day, I hope this is the new format they are keeping with this new show. Just seeing just how much fun David and Catherine had filming these three episodes is great, and I hope that Ncuti and Millie are the same.
It really reminded me of midnight except for an really high budget and that is the best compliment I can give a tv show.
David Tennant looks like he having fun playing The Doctor again. He never was my favourite Doctor but this version of the doctor he playing might just be my favourite of him.
He just becomes his 8 year old self there for a moment. So so joyful.
I wish David went for that kiss, Catherine walked in right when it would have been happening 🤣
This episode is low-key better than everything that we had in Doctor Who in years
The bit in the tunnels had me hiding behind my hands! Haven't done that since heaven sent
so good like Midnight from season 4
Best in the last 5 to 7 years of crap we've had.
@@MarcosSantos-dj6lkI don’t know tbh the reason i see it as better than midnight is because of the budget and the technology advantages but in the story sense and idea midnight was miles better. I didn’t find this scary or creepy just funny tbh it didn’t feel like there was much danger where in midnight they turn and try throwing him out 🤣 the best part of the blue yonder was seeing wilf and that could of happened in the next episode
It was a FANTASTIC!!!! Episode,
Keep doing this russell and Dr who will be redeemed
My doctor 🥹🥹🥹 being david fanboying is always a job. He was born to be the doctor, he absolutely gives his body and soul to this role and you can feel the dedication and love and respect he has for this role ❤️
This episode was genuinely unsettling which was an incredible breath of fresh air. Loved the entire premise of the episode and how they were shown even more.
A big hand for David and Catherine 😅
this episode felt so doctor who i LOVED IT - one of my favs in a WHILE
I really wished there was a way to watch Doctor Who Unleashed outside the UK
Doctor Who needs actors like these that can _really_ do comedy and drama.
...and who can play villains. Don't know why but somehow it's folk who can really play villains make amazing characters on the show. This episode proves it.
This was one scary episode and i loved it
"Oh! Jesus, what's that? I can't say Jesus on the telly!"
I am going to miss David once he leaves again. :(
I'm excited for all the cosplays. I would love to see how folks make the extended limbs.
I love the BTS for this and that it's was prosthesis and not CGI.
Just want to say a quick thank you- I cannot express how grateful I feel for this- for warning about the white flashes!
Just shows how handy technology is these days
amazing episode! so fresh and new!
this episode was so different and fresh loved it
Ah man, these episodes are amazing, and the actors and people in Behind the Scenes are so freaking chill and sweet, I love this 💙
I love shows where everyone behind the scenes is having fun
Its nice that we got a normal adventure in between the start and finish.
Tennant looked like "nosferatu" with the teeth in the end hih :) Love the episode! :)
Amazing episode, it was like another type of Midnight episode with the monster mimicking the Doctor and Donna. Very well done! The slow start definitely paid off until they introduced the monster
Midnight also mostly happened full-time on a spaceship, a closed space. It reminded me a lot of the Midnight episode, one of my favourite episodes.
this episode was so goofy it felt like an episode from the beginning of new who, I loved it
LOVING THE PRACTICAL EFFECTS! Shame about the infinite CGI corridor, oh well, we’ve overlooked worse for a good Whostory.
Same I'm a lover of practical effects but still they made it look like GCI.
@@GreatGizmo74 the robot puppet was very nicely done though!
The crab walk, and the two Donna's running in the corridor, we're hilarious. Even riding in the cart I found the blatant chroma-key so campy and if anything, just fun
They're so hilarious!
I love how they both make dad jokes wearing the teeth and just go in different directions 😂
I really thought the arms were CGI when I was watching the episode, that's actually so cool
You saying that just shows how bad the effects were. They made something practical and it still ended up looking like computer effects. We have really taken a step back.
@@GreatGizmo74 I more meant I couldn't believe they were real and just assumed they had to be cg, not that they looked cg
@@StevenMcSteve Fair enough then.
@@GreatGizmo74 I thought it was some POV trick, like in LotR
Omg Catherine gave so much " phrasing" energy.
"By the skin of our teeth." Really? With the scary teeth in your mouth. Lol
The scariest episode since The Waters of Mars, and that’s saying something.
cant believe they did the arms - sooo cool
There was something very Terry Gilliam/Monty Python about those scenes, maybe with a little bit of Hitchhiker's Vogons thrown in for good measure
It's nice that they're finally doing an accurate representation of average British teeth on TV
More behind the scenes! I had no idea how they did some of that on Wild Blue Yonder. I thought that was all CGI.
doctor who unleashed is where the clips come from in case you didn’t know, it’s on iplayer
0:41 I see David is looking for the time-warping beetle on his back.
I wish the robot became a new travelling companion for the Doctor. Nicely done (and a great merchandising opportunity too).
very random, but I love that they put in a short flashing lights warning AND said when it's over. just like that.
This episode was freaky as hell. The long arms remind me of Caddicarus' character Long Dennis.
Fun finding out most of this was recorded on my birthday
Hahaha hahahaha I love this
I love how you include the warning for photosensitive viewers in real time!
"...You know they want you on set now..?" 😂😂
Good on you for the epilepsy warning in the video.
Filmed in July 2022. That was a long wait.
There are 2 imposters among us
BBC and Disney ... you keep em talking while I hit the airlock!
Wait, the arms weren't CG?! That's incredible!
July 2022!!!
A perfect nod to Touchy Tim
Please publish those scans so we can 3d print our own David Tennant & Catherine Tate figures!
How come we don't have that cool 3D logo in the actual title sequence! It looks so professional!
this scared me so much
1:09 when it says 13th July 2022 thats 10 days after my birthday
Wait, so the hands weren't CG?!
So apparently there were a lot more practical effects than I realized.
Apparently?! I thought for sure that they were.
Now Tennant knows what Simm felt like all those years ago.
Wow those were practical effects. Thought it was cgi. Impressed.
It was pretty cool, see marvel 😂you can make elasticity type power without CGI
Okay. Now what are the UK’s laws regarding the usage of this kind of visual data on David Tennant? Would he have to be notified whenever that data is used somewhere else? Would he have to consent to it first, or can British studios do whatever they want with the data?
It's not going to be an issue of UKs laws but an issue of his contract. Given the scan tech I can't imagine them not using it for merchandise too
@@phil1500I see.....so I'm gonna expect character options to announce a new 14th doctor figurine with a different head to the old one..... hopefully.
😂😂😂😂😂
David Tennat ready to snog himself...second guesses it cuz he realizes the fans would meme the heck out of it.
David's reaction to seeing his face is funny. Especially because he's SCOTTISH (Like me (if not a little more)).
RTD is back!
Disney is eyeing David Tennant for a live action Wreck it Ralph.
BIG ARMS
Imagine Catherine doing a bit of Nan wif dose teef in eh?
I'm willing to bet she did
Honestly I didn’t have high hopes because of the first episode, but they nailed this one! The massive arms and the other things were hilarious, but it also managed to keep serious and tense too, compared to the star beast this is a 10/10 episode! Keep this up, please!
So someone has the data to make an entire replica David Tennant 😶
Think the music in this video needs to be louder... 😂
Anyone know the track at 1:45?
2:29 the way he starts to move in before going o wait thats weird 💀💀💀
I will never again try to make a 3d image file with nothing but my Iphone.
Do you realize how effective the secrecy had to be to keep the new console room unknown for more than a year?
2:56 congratulations on David and Catherine becoming full british
That was a creepy and scary ass episode!!!! Ah man!!
"and in ghur the filming sheduel is fest..." This guy is killing me hahaha.
1:58 it's like this episode predicted AI being incapable of reproducing the original.
But the monsters weren’t even AI and in the end the Donna double got so incredibly close to replicating Donna that the Doctor thought it was her until the scan
How many knees do you have?
so.. theoretically. If one were able to "procure" that 3d model of David Tennant.. how would they do it?
Why is the music SO LOUD on this
My arms are too long
I did wonder if that was practical or visual fx.
So much better than the 1st special. This IS Dr Who!!!! Vale Bernard Cribbins.
oh you couldn't be more leashed
I feel like the WBY was 15 minutes long.
This episode made me laugh so hard 😂 I actually thought Donna would die but no I knew the doctor would safe her PS is the 14th doctor going to meet the daleks because everyone doctor got to meet the daleks
There was a dalek in the children in need thing
@@Panda-vq4gd yeah true
Liberation of the Daleks is a comic based just after regeneration. he meets them there and that's how the Jodie sonic gets destroyed.
You have to use daleks at the right time you can’t just slap them into an episode just ruins them even more than they are now. Also that the comic was albout daleks so seeing them in the show as well would be too much and wouldn’t make much sense since he would of just met them like 30 minutes ago
@@Budbrothers420 Daleks look a bit like toys, and we have yet to meet the ToyMaker, so for all we know, he might just throw some Daleks into the mix just for shits and giggles.
My arms are too long. Creepy!
The way that line was said...
Just creepy
Well thats it folks, they got a 3D image scan of Tennant's entire body. Add in AI voice and they bring him back for every anniversary going forward even in death 😐😅
wow... even after i found out the giant arms were practical effects i thought surely david's massive fingers moving must have been cgi. but no! if these specials have taught me anything so far it's that i need to trust that practical effects can do way cooler things than i thought
Ah geez...at first I was like "That's so cool!" but then I was like "Does Disney now own their images? Can they do what they want with those images once they are dead?" Just a bit concerned... I really hope that's not the case but I know they are stockpiling full body/face scans of every actor that they can and the laws aren't exactly caught up yet
my arms are too long
Just seen Rishi Sunak on tv,walking down stairs, getting off a plane, his arms were too long.
I didnt realize it was not all.cgi
