Excellent video! WD40 to get the door all the way open was perfect. After watching your 14 minute video I think it took me only another 15 minutes to replace the hinges and complete the job. Thank you so much!
If it only took you 15 minutes to complete the job on first time I honestly give you credit for being a quicker learner and getting the job done . You are amazing ✌️
Thank you, just saved $400 having someone else repair this for me.
This is by far the best video I watched on solving this problem. Using the WD40 to get the door to open all the is genius. Thank you for providing excellent information.
I m glad it’s helpful .
Thank you for watching 🤗
Yes! Especially the tip about rocking the door back and forth 20 times to thoroughly lubricate the hinges. That did the trick! Before watching your video I'd been afraid that by moving the door too much I might make things worse or break the hinges. But seeing you do it in the video gave me the courage to try, and it worked! Thank you soooo much!
Thanks for the clear, easy to follow instructions! On my way to complete this repair for someone right now! Wish me luck!
Excellent job. Love the slow motion clips and full part number displays. Hameed, awesome!
Thank you 🙏
Had to use wd40 and then put my legs on the over and pull the door back at the same time to get enough force to get my stuck door off. The hinge screws were broken and I think thats what had it lodged in there. Thanks for the video.
Thank you thank you thank you.... I just replaced them myself. I ordered some aftermarket ones and had to use a drill bit 11/64 to open the slot a bit cuz the new ones were drilled a bit small but otherwise Easy peasy. I just saved my 25 year old viking stove. Front right burner igniter is s out but otherwise in gorgeous shape. Any videos on replacing igniter? It clicks but has no spark so I use back burner to light it.
FWIW, when I turned on the oven after this fix the fumes from the WD-40 were pretty bad. Be sure to open some windows and have good ventilation going until the fumes clear!
Great video. Thanks so much for sharing.
Thanks guys.
Great video. Thanks for the info !
Hello, viking EVISB542SS REFRIGERATEUR où acheter les pièces thanks!!
Great video! This helped me replace the hinges in my 36" viking range/oven (gas). I used genuine OEM parts but the springs seem even weaker than the old ones I replaced! Door barely seals. On a separate note - do yo know if there are any good replacements for the oven and griddle thermostat assemblies? My knobs keep getting broken off and the parts from Viking are around $200 each because the entire assembly needs to be replaced! (when just the shaft of the knob has snapped). I'm wondering if there is a Whirlpool/Kenmore/Frigidaire part that could be substituted. Thanks!
If you send me the part number I can possibly look for sub number ✌️
@@hameedwafaAFG Thanks! Bake/Broil thermostat: PB010036 Griddle Thermostat: PB010264
@@bpchristensen I would still recommend OEM parts worse case use robert shaw part 5300-114 works form 200-450f if that's your last option.
Hi Hameed,
Thanks for the great video on the door hinge replacement.
I have another issue that I wonder if you have a recommendation about. I wanted to use the oven slef cleaning feature this morning after fixing the door hinges yesterday. For some reason, this is not working.
What I observed is as follows:
I selected "Self Clean" on the function knob.
I turned the temperature knob to "self clean" as far as it will go.
The door locks closed
The door unlocks
The heating element never turns on.
I opened the door and did the same test above and watched the locking mechanism go through this process. It did the same thing when the door was closed. That is, I can feel the door locked and then it unlocks.
Any suggestions? I don't know the mechanism, but I assume that there is a sensor for the door that is not allowing the heater element to turn on??
Thanks in advance for your help.
Good morning David , on some units there is a switch by the kick plate where it’s hit by corner of hinge . If that’s not the case , I would look into door lock maybe it’s not working the way it supposed to , possibly has a bag or worn out micro switch , because once it locks it should not unlock back by itself ✌️
@@hameedwafaAFG Thanks. I think it is the micro switch. The door feels like it is "locking" then releases. I assume this is because the micro switch is not opening or closing. Is there access to that switch? I was thinking about spraying WD40 near the locking mechanism, but I'm afraid that might be a "fire" issue. Any additional thoughts are appreciated.
@@davidtoth4490 I would just replace the micro switch with a micro switch from microwave door . Make sure you add the lines in proper place NC /NO and COM
@@hameedwafaAFG Thank you!
Thank you for posting this awesome video!
Any chance you have advice for me? I've been following steps exactly, but am stuck at the 5:00 min mark in your video and having trouble pulling the oven door off the hinge. It seems like I can pull the door about one inch before it feels like it is stopped by another screw or something else. I also have pushed the door stops forward like you did. I have the same oven and parts as this video.
I'm excited to try to repair this myself, so just thought I'd ask. Thanks for posting this video!
From that spot you might want to left it up more and then remove the hinges . Sorry if I didn’t explained it clearly .
You are very welcome!
@@hameedwafaAFG Thank you for the reply. As an update, I decided to remove the stuck hinge with the door still on it and then was able to get it out.
Thanks to this video, I felt confident in doing this relatively simple fix. Thanks so much for posting this!
@@SidharthaPalani you are very welcome . I m glad you felt comfortable doing it . Some people gave up and call techs for something simple like this 😁✌️

@@HiddenTreasuresEnt no way 😂
@@HiddenTreasuresEnt what a weird question
is this brand oven a frequent flyer repair ?
We do not get a lot of service request on these units
The way he got the door off is not correct. the small metal tab needs to stay within the hinge, not pushed out. it can be a little tricky to do but if the tab is held within the hinge, the door will easily come off.
Good catch!
