Very nice and very unique. I have never seen one before. Looks to be a great restoration from here anyway. The color is a great choice even if it's not the oem color. Harley Earl designed a lot of nice cars for more than one manufacturer if I remember correctly. He sure got this design right.

These are very, very beautiful cars. Lou Constable interviewed someone else that had one in a great pastel green. That interview is on UA-cam and worth watching as it has quite a bit more content.

The 54's are neat... Just as unique as the 53 model, and almost as much custom bodywork.
I always suggest to folks restoring these, that they cut a coil out of the rear springs when restoring the rear suspension... Harley Earl did not intend for these to 'ride so high', and I'd suspect that the coil springs available to restorers are UNIVERSAL to the 1954 Buick Special, Century and Skylark.
All of the restored Skylarks I've seen just sit up too high on the springs... And because they're not too likely to get driven, so as to where the new coils 'relax' a little, I'd imagine losing a turn or two in a brand-new spring would make the cars look like the same as the Skylarks pictured in the original brochure.

Beginning with the 49 Olds, then the 52 Buick then into the Skylarks, might have been the start of the fins.

I'd like to see how the pistons go straight up and down, I don't think even Buick could pull that one.

Had one when I was in high school ('61 to '65). One thing no one ever talks about is the car's dead end engineering feature of hydraulic fluid power windows and convertible top. Needless to say sketchy GM assembly/design led to a never ending smell of brake fluid in the interior.
