The assets are utterly beautiful, and the video is really helpful too, It would be awesome if you could produce videos like this for future asset packs too, and maybe slow it down a fraction. The music was also pretty damn awesome.
Assets are prepared for the top view. For better performance objects have removed triangles from the bottom. It is difficult to make something "universal"
Would be great to see a normal speed version of this.. This is an awesome pack.. Will definitely pick it up, just missing some lava to really add to the atmosphere
This is some fantastic modular kit, is there any plans to release a version outside of the asset store, the reason I say this is I use UDK and would love to add this to an early prototype? Possibly *.Obj with textures. Keep up the good work...looking forward to seeing more.
Hey awesome work but one question. I noticed in my time in unity that not only does the number of Tris greatly affect performance but Draw Calls as well. With this workflow and technique (especially creating the modules in the beginning) seems to produce scenes with an extremely high number of draw calls. Do you notice this affecting performance and do you have any advice in avoiding this problem? Do you combine the meshes together for your final level?
Is this done with Unity free? I'm still wondering if I should go with 3D for my next game unity is very easy to work with but the unreal engine has so much better graphics and free but it will take me months to understand the engine and fit it to my needs. What i see in this video is all I need graphics wise, Otherwise it is back to LibGDX and 2D powah :)
I was thinking the same, all he did was edit a level with the assets he already had. But looks cool but its not a "simple level"... Or maybe we are still noobs...
srimasis This video is sincerely stupid and for real noobs. It only takes 3 months to achieve this level. I have been working on a game fully functional and it didn't have this attention so it all comes down to the idea that this guy payed money to publish his workings.
Another Games Yeah you are right. And good to know you are a game dev. Please tell me about your project? Is it complete or still in development. I am really interested... :)
It is on Desura but I didn't work on this game anymore. Here is the link and I tell you the reason why I stopped the project: www.desura.com/games/seasons-of-the-year The problem is that I think Unity is a dead technology, that is why it is free. When something gets for free its already over, no point into investing your time on that. It is great for those who want to quick start a project, but since the future is the mobile and web without plugins, allowing C extensions is obvious that Unity doesn't keep up anymore. The moment when Unity will keep up will be when you practically have those kind of technologies around for many years. So I switched to HTML5 development and am still watching other futuristic possibilities. The moment when unity turns html5 will be when people have already won billions of dollars on that. But when I saw this video, it was pure mediocre, since I can perfectly do what this guy did and I bet millions of others can. When I studied C++ I understood how far away it can go and how noob is Unity compared to that. I also talked with a 10 year developer of graphics and he told me that it didn't make sense C# with javascript. But for those who want to explore stuff, it is obviously the best choice.
Thanks brother, I am a indie dev too and just about to release my first game. Your knowledge will sure help me. Can I contact you for any marketing tips if you won't mind? Don't worry its ok if you refuge coz I know how tough it is to work on games...

depends on what you want to do
This is amazing work! I want to build something like this of my games. Do you have a workshop for builds like this??
nice...
did you bake the modules in your modeler ?.. (looks like you used baked AO and painted your textures)..
Are you looking to expand this pack to also be compatible with a third/first person view by adding in pieces to complete the roof?
Impressive...I wonder how long it took to come up with the idea? Or if it was made on the fly...either way, it's awesome!
OMG it is so good.
just use oclussion culling to bake static obiects
Simple? lol, you're amazing.
