The wood on yours is in better condition than my Marlin 1894. Mine was made in 1958 and she’s got some wear. Her name is Abigail. They’re beautiful rifles for sure.
Hey man what gloves are you using btw? I’ve tried gloves but the point on my thumb or index always gets caught in the loading port. I just use fingerless rifleman gloves now with it. Edit: I just saw you get your thumb caught and you took the glove off. Fingerless is probably the way to go lol.
@@LLpros I completely agree 👌🏼 I think I’ve seen you do it but have you ran with some “fingerless” gloves?? Or they may call them “rifleman” gloves - with possibly only the index and thumb cut short? They seem to be nice. I went hunting and wore a normal leather glove on my “trigger hand” and wore a fingerless leather glove on my off hand so I could load without getting caught in the gate. You should try it out bro. Don’t mean to be one of “those people” but I enjoy your videos, man. You really do have some dang good content and I always watch every second with no skipping 🤣 your taste in firearms compliments my own.
@@JP_Patriot Aww thanks man I really appreciate that! Ima keep putting out the goods for as long as I can! I’ve thought about cutting some of my current gloves but I can never bring myself to do it bc I always use these gloves for winter when it gets cold. I should just order some dedicated fingerless gloves like you suggest.
@@LLpros Yeah bro and they aren’t too expensive to be honest. I have some fingerless that have the composite/rubber knuckles on them. Only 2 pairs then a normal leather pair for freezing weather. I’ll be here watchin bro!
Nice old rifle sir. It looks like it’s been well taken care of. They must have been manlier men in those days with the hard butt plates. Not pads like we have nowadays. Those rifles were probably only fired a few times each year to bring home the venison. Great video.
That lever action tho we have the same tastes
Ahh a man of culture.

Thats okay only means she got used and the action is probably slicker bc of it.
@@LLpros
Yeah bro she’s pretty slick. It’s honestly my favorite to shoot.
@@JP_Patriot is it a 44 or 357?
@@LLpros
It’s a .44
Beautiful to shoot.
Beautiful, i have a boar hunting trip next summer, was looking at getting the 45-70 marlin trapper or sbl.. if i can find one 🙄
I know them Ruger made 45/70s have been really well made
