And I feel the reason they are showing the warehouse is because people asked about it as well as people want to see not only gardening but know more about their lives. It isn't something they do enough to be annoying as well as it is something like the shopping tours to do when you can't do gardening.
Merry Christmas! FAUX PAINT , TROMPE- 'LOEIL THE PANEL ON THE HARTLEY! I am a retired faux finisher. I have painted faux brick to match real brick. People had to go up and touch it to see it wasn't real. It is totally doable and inexpensive. The panel will visually disappear into the real brick. Hire a professional decorative painter to do it. They should do a mock up on board first. This way they can work out the colors and you can approve it before they start. You won't regret it. A good pro can match brick, marble, stone,wood, etc, perfectly. This would be so much easier than moving it.
I personally love to watch where you are cleaning up the plants. It is still a valuable lesson for all of us still learning about all varieties of plants.

When you were talking about people criticizing you knife skills, let me just put in my own opinion. I have worked in professional kitchens, even high end restaurants and resorts. I don’t cut my vegies by the book, professionally speaking. No one ever got on my case about it. I say, the way you have learned, gotten used to, and have the muscle memory for, you should stick with. Because at this point, trying to relearn the “proper” way is more dangerous. I watch an older lady’s cooking channel and she slices her fruits and veg by holding it in her hand. (Probably grew up in an old farm kitchen without countertops.). You do you, Laura. It’s fine!

My first comment…I had a thought about your power box on the Hartley. It seems like you could take a picture of the brick and have a vinyl wrap made to match. Our historic neighborhood has been covering electrical boxes with old scenes from our neighborhood’s past. It runs like $15 a square foot. Just a thought before you pay to move them. I’m one of those people who do not like to see the cords or wires too!! Hope you have a happy holiday. Thank you for all you do. I’m so glad I found your content. It all started with drip irrigation search for my porch!! Zone 8b and plants could never get enough water!! It grew from there. Now people think I’m this great gardener…. Haha!!

Merry Christmas Laura and Arron. I love your comments about Christmas traditions. We have always been flexible as my husband and I worked in the medical field and worked different shifts. My kids lesrned that flexibilty. My daughter's mother in law always demanded primetime for holidays and then trash talked those that didn't make it. This included nieces, nephews and cousins as well as her own kids and her siblings. It shouldn't matter as long as you can have a time to be with loved ones.
I also suffer from insomnia and find GA is the perfect antidote. Not that you are boring but you still my crazy brain. 😂 We've been through a stressful time recently so I've spent a few evenings on the couch with my phone watching you until I nod off. Works like a charm so thank you 😘
For the restless leg, you need to add Magnesium glycinate to your daily supplement regime, women should have 400mg a day - I have experienced what you described and this is what I was told I needed and it has help so much - Merry Christmas
36:42 I’m so sorry if this feels weird or too personal but you might look into perimenopause symptoms as an explanation for insomnia. I struggled for a couple years until my endocrinologist mentioned it and prescribed luteal phase microprogesterone and the sleep I’ve since gotten has been so amazing - and btw insomnia was really the only symptom I had (so far lol) since it seems I’m easing into this new phase of life relatively slowly and gently, so I’m definitely grateful for that 😂 but the earlier you can effectively manage hormone replacement therapy the better it is for your long term brain and body health. Just a thought for ya because it was such a blessing for me to finally solve the issues so I can’t help but preach it to my fellow women 😉

"list is in order of the store " yes but when they rearrange the store it's frustrating for awhile. lol I don't go early and do go slow But I don't go often. I stock up while there and can shop from my pantry. Plus it saves $ the less often you go.

I push that buggy pretty aggressively, slowing only for kids and elderly, and amazingly people just move out of my way like Moses parting the Red Sea… bwahahaha Mom calls it my Walmart attitude - “honey, today we’re going to need to get through this mall with your Walmart attitude!” I’m like, go up front and sit at Subway if you want to chat with another shopper in the middle of the aisle, I’m here to shop - I mean, it’s a store! And the folks talking freely and loudly about really personal matters as they mosey along… arrrgh

I just wish shoppers would put their carts to the side of the aisle. WHY IN THE MIDDLE! Then they tends to throw attitude if you ask them to move. Yesterday I waited a good 5 minutes while a guy tried to get the lottery machine to read his ticket. Even after he realized I was waiting he didn't take a moment to step aside.

Hearing you describe your restless leg/nerve energy was exactly what I had been experiencing. I started to take magnesium glycocate every night before bed. It’s been a life changer. I fall asleep easily and sleep through the night. It’s decreased my anxiety levels as well.

The months if May, June, July & August i got way behind as I was on a month's vacation, returned to work for 3 weeks, retired and then did a bit of traveling from California to Washington to see family. Then traveled across the northern portion of the US. Then down to Ohio where I have retired. In September I binged watched to get caught up. Your channel is sunshine to my soul.

Re your insomnia… years ago when I changed jobs and so much new stuff to learn and do, I had horrible insomnia… a co-worker suggested have a note pad and pen by my bed and as things came to mind, write it down so it’s out of my head…. I’ve just retired so my mental mists are different, but writing my ideas down still works to get it out of my head… and re the store comments… you guys are doing it perfectly. I really appreciate having a source to find items that are “proven winners” for my gardening. I’ve recommended the auger to a brother and some of my neighbors, and all have appreciated the recommendation. Merry Christmas and looking forward to your new projects in the new year.

We loved our family visiting schedule for Christmas. My mom hosted Christmas eve, we had Christmas morning at home with our kids, and then drove to my husbands family for the rest of the day, and spent the night. So many great memories.

I recently retired and I’m excited about dedicating my time to gardening. Following your videos has helped me try things I’ve always been intimidated by, like seed planting and bulb planting. A month ago I planted dwarf tomato seeds and used the whole packet hoping at least one would germinate. Lo and behold all 24 cells germinated! So Thank you for your knowledge, though not sure what I’m going to do with that many tomato plants. It’s just me.

My internist put me on iron for Restless Leg Syndrome and it helped! I think Laura is talking about insomnia in general. An issue for many!

36:42 I’m so sorry if this feels weird or too personal but you might look into perimenopause symptoms as an explanation for insomnia. I struggled for a couple years until my endocrinologist mentioned it and prescribed luteal phase microprogesterone and the sleep I’ve since gotten has been so amazing - and btw insomnia was really the only symptom I had (so far lol) since it seems I’m easing into this new phase of life relatively slowly and gently, so I’m definitely grateful for that 😂 but the earlier you can effectively manage hormone replacement therapy the better it is for your long term brain and body health. Just a thought for ya because it was such a blessing for me to finally solve the issues so I can’t help but preach it to my fellow women 😉
I, for one, love that you have a store. It makes sense when you have talked about products for years that we have a place we can purchase them. In my perfect world, you would have a warehouse in Canada so I could just order everything.
Ah Laura, A kindred soul, I grocery shop the same way....list is in order of the store and I get in and out ...despise crowds so go at 7am when it's not busy..the only time I shop slowly is at the garden center!

"list is in order of the store " yes but when they rearrange the store it's frustrating for awhile. lol I don't go early and do go slow But I don't go often. I stock up while there and can shop from my pantry. Plus it saves $ the less often you go.
😂 Yep, and i adjust the list order based on the aisles of the store I’m shopping! I push that buggy pretty aggressively, slowing only for kids and elderly, and amazingly people just move out of my way like Moses parting the Red Sea… bwahahaha Mom calls it my Walmart attitude - “honey, today we’re going to need to get through this mall with your Walmart attitude!” I’m like, go up front and sit at Subway if you want to chat with another shopper in the middle of the aisle, I’m here to shop - I mean, it’s a store! And the folks talking freely and loudly about really personal matters as they mosey along… arrrgh

32:50 I relate to this so much! From the crowd anxiety(thank you Covid), to the rage at slow shoppers in the grocery store, to the grocery list curated from one side of the store to the other, to the devastating sense of being lost when the store does a mayor overhaul! Nice to know I’m not alone! 😂
I just wish shoppers would put their carts to the side of the aisle. WHY IN THE MIDDLE! Then they tends to throw attitude if you ask them to move. Yesterday I waited a good 5 minutes while a guy tried to get the lottery machine to read his ticket. Even after he realized I was waiting he didn't take a moment to step aside.

Hearing you describe your restless leg/nerve energy was exactly what I had been experiencing. I started to take magnesium glycocate every night before bed. It’s been a life changer. I fall asleep easily and sleep through the night. It’s decreased my anxiety levels as well.

@@joannam369 yes be sure you do your research because not all brands are clean. Nothing from China! I just picked up one from a brand called Ocean for my son, but it was expensive. He has ADHD and his physician recommended he take a magnesium supplement.

I live in a mobile home park and my lot was just dirt and crabgrass when I first moved in. After 30 years I now have 7 flower gardens containing hydrangeas, azaleas, butterfly bushes and various plants Laura and Aaron have used in their yard.

I've found harder to get together as families grow and move around. As the senior family members pass, it's difficult! I lost my husband last year, and I'm trying to keep some of the things he loved going! This year my youngest brother is arranging a family gathering, and I'm so excited for it! I love my daily dose of Laura and Aaron. The months if May, June, July & August i got way behind as I was on a month's vacation, returned to work for 3 weeks, retired and then did a bit of traveling from California to Washington to see family. Then traveled across the northern portion of the US. Then down to Ohio where I have retired. In September I binged watched to get caught up. Your channel is sunshine to my soul.

Laura, when I have trouble sleeping, the celestrial tea sleepy time is my go to! I like the peach. I haven't been a really anxious person until the last few years. Re your insomnia… years ago when I changed jobs and so much new stuff to learn and do, I had horrible insomnia… a co-worker suggested have a note pad and pen by my bed and as things came to mind, write it down so it’s out of my head…. I’ve just retired so my mental mists are different, but writing my ideas down still works to get it out of my head… and re the store comments… you guys are doing it perfectly. I really appreciate having a source to find items that are “proven winners” for my gardening. I’ve recommended the auger to a brother and some of my neighbors, and all have appreciated the recommendation.

About the electric panel.....do as Disney world does.... find a good artist and they can paint it to look exactly like the brick then seal it. A good artist can easily fool the eye.

Laura, as a fellow insomniac with issues of restless body. Magnesium citrate and magnesium glycinate an hour before bedtime helps a lot. Bad nights, I take an epsom salt bathes, too.

We loved our family visiting schedule for Christmas. My mom hosted Christmas eve, we had Christmas morning at home with our kids, and then drove to my husbands family for the rest of the day, and spent the night. So many great memories.

Laura i had insomnia so bad. I actually got a grounding mat and now I get a good solid 6 hours of sleep a night and dream again! Best money spent all year!!!!

I recently retired and I’m excited about dedicating my time to gardening. Following your videos has helped me try things I’ve always been intimidated by, like seed planting and bulb planting. A month ago I planted dwarf tomato seeds and used the whole packet hoping at least one would germinate. Lo and behold all 24 cells germinated! So Thank you for your knowledge, though not sure what I’m going to do with that many tomato plants. It’s just me.

Those of us long time viewers, know you were not one to push products. You have been suttle just by showing how you use the products and most are available to us through your store.
The product I wish I could find is Land and Sea compost. I have checked many stores that carry Espoma products but not that.
