I used to cut bowling green with similar mower
Most still are I think, well maybe something similar but modern. You enjoy the golf course days? Cheers 👍
My clients got one in the garage, was her here husbands pride and joy.
When I started working for her she wanted me to use it as her husband had. Sadly her lawn was no longer a bowling green like it used to be and fortnightly cuts weren't going to work with a fine lawn cylinder mower. Used it for a couple of cuts before reverting to my Honda rotary.
They can come with a great scarifying cassette which we used for years every autumn which was brilliant. Good mowers these.
Similar story with this one, great for fine lawns cut twice a week I guess. Cheers for watching 👍

I let my Mum have them, one I put a scarifier attachment on and at the start of the season it used to rip the hell out of moss.
I have a petrol mount field for the allotment, always starts first pull even after winter.
We love your dry humour it makes the channel 👍

One of my customers has one, keeps the lawn cut really tight although on slightly uneven areas they jump around like crazy and are very lively to control 😂
So many lawns used to be kept the same with one of these, definitely has a mind of it's own😂 cheers 👍

@LewisgardenservicesLtd it ended badly as it ran on to the path hit a drain cover and broke the cylinder in half😞 then had to hide it from my dad till I got another cylinder blade and try and put it back together there was a few bits left over and for some reason I think I turned it into a rotivator 🤠🤷
Reminds me of doing my parents lawn as a child, thanks it made me smile.

In the 1990’s we used to store qualcast lawnmowers in the warehouse I worked at, we got a 25% discount I bought 2 electric ones , wish I’d bought one of these 👍😂😂

Takes me back to being a kid in the 70's.
My Dad had a roller mower with the car battery,took about three days to charge up.
It cut lovely but only on short grass.
I'd put it against that,4k screaming banshee any day.

I have a guy at the tip near me who holds on to these all the time for me there so good and easy to work on
It does look super simple and easy to work on, except fitted the collection box😂
My gran had one like that but it wasn’t petrol, It plugged into the mains and my dad had an Atco cylinder mower powered by a massive battery. The first mowers I ever used in 1970/71 😳. I had a qualcast classic petrol but sold it about 5 years ago. Indestructible 👍
These used to be the mower if choice a generation or 2 ago. Not just for golf course like many think but a step up from the push cylinder mower. Great memories for you. Cheers for watching 👍
When we first started in 1982 we had an Atco 34 and a Webb 24 .. they were great for the big old houses but as we got a few commercial sites they weren’t really suitable for that obviously.. on a nice flat lawn the cylinders do leave a nice finish if sharp ….
They were the mowers of choice on lawns years ago, few early customers used to have Suffolk punches in the shed👌

I'm like you I've never used 1 in my life. Not even on huge private estates I've been employed by.
I've been offered a few when the old boys have passed but I've got no interest!

Thats a golf greens mower, for mowing the greens. Didn't think people used them for gardens, i definitely wouldnt bother

No bowling greens for me and it would be a shame to leave it sat in the back of one of my sheds. Bet it cleans up beautifully 👍
Had two of those, always started first time. Not great on wet grass, the side casing on the opposite side to the engine houses cogs that make the cassette spin, they are all plastic though and can easily get stripped when the cassette gets clogged……look forward to seeing some stripes 👍🏻

It was impressive, same here... nothing starts that easy. No fancy carb etc I guess, just fuel and spark and off you 👍 cheers

Good stuff mate 👍 had a few of these, found they do usually need a carbon clean the valves get caked, seem to run great after that and a good once over, a like em! ATB

Why A dog is more loyal and loving than a wife, that double shed, Put your wife in one shed and put your dog in the other and lock both doors leave them in there an hour,come back open the doors and see which one will come out the doors happy to see you
