Apparently it was a very well known prime minister who was the brain child of the start of the development of this part of East London... Margaret Thatcher.
You know if you go down to the tower bridge and look at the city, I don't think another 100m would make a difference, I think it actually fits in, it will just be an eyesore,
Amazing video! Is it legal to fly drones in London? What mode do you fly in (Cine/Normal/Fast)? I flown in Cine often because everyone says its more cinematic but for me specially when shooting like this its way to slow. But this footage seems faster but also smooth.
When it was called London Docklands and the idea was dreamed up to build a new business district it was a chance to build something unique, but instead, from certain angles, when viewed by a drone, apart from Canary Wharf and a few other surrounding towers most of the buildings look ugly which is a real shame when you consider, the city of London, Canary Wharf’s competitor has far more restrictions to build tall buildings, but in my view is creating something more unique. Developers are just in it for the money, to build office complexes and real estate as quickly as possible, without considering the aesthetics. Just my view!… I also think, the drone footage resolution might not be detailed enough, because some of the buildings look like they have missing cladding, and look unfinished. And I’m not talking about the buildings under construction.
But, don't forget, according to security staff and the Metropolitan Police, it's against the law to photograph or video record anything in Canary Wharf.

Yes, not many trees and the ones that have been planted are almost all dull and dwarfish. Nowadays, these poor varieties of trees are planted all over London so that in autumn the city authorities don't have to go to the trouble of clearing the leaves that have fallen on the streets. In the past, in the days of traditional values, when democracy was not rampant, in London streets were mostly planted with plane trees and other large trees. An example of this is the alley between Marble Arch and Shepherds Bush.
@@Deines7 I think the govt should try to make a balance between urbanization and Nature, planting more tree in a crowded city like London not only will give clean air but also gives a fresh feel to the city, which is needed for the people having hectic work life.
@@Deines7 What a load of utter shite "traditional values"? London is classified by the U.N as the largest urban forest on Earth, with over 21% trees. Canary Wharf is the business end where trees are dwarfed by hundreds of meters of glass and steel. Stop talking bollocks for the sake of humanity
Canary wharf feels like a perfect cross between Europe and North America.
The best skyline in europe.

I chose to live in this area because it reminds me of my days of college in Chicago and NYC .
New York, Dubai, Shanghai, Singapore please step aside for this Brave, new London
Wish we were on them levels!! One day! Haha thanks for watching 🙂
London's a far superior city to all those. It really is. It has as many trees as people.
London is superior to all those cities, except New York. New York is in a league of its own.
@@vordmanShanghai is leagues ahead of London in so many ways. It's a megacity.
@@roddazA megacity is a city with 10+ million people.
Shanghai = 29.2 million
London = 14.8 million
Meaning both are mega cities
Wow. Amazing. 🔥
Thank you! 😊
I like the music sounds used, very well suited to this video. When did you film this? Same date as uploaded on youtube?

I think its not
