I'm 72 years old and have played guitar since I was 12. This is what I think of often. Where does the music come from? It must come from somewhere on the other side of us. But then, for the so fortunate and so few, it enters our mind. And then, we hear it! And our mind extends it into our brain! And then, and then the most amazing thing happens. That very music that came from somewhere on the other side of us trickles from the brain and actually into our hands and our fingers, and then it causes our fingers to dance on the keyboards and footboards of our chosen instruments! And then, it is given to the people, and the people receive it and the journey is complete because the people allow it to flow through them and back, back into the cosmos from whence it came. And there in the Cosmos it was created by God!
Well said, Ron! So you've played a 6-String for 61 years? Hats off! Any other instruments? I've been playing since 1958 or so. Dad was a Singer/Pianist. So I was FORCED to learn Keyboard. Hated it! Buy by 1961 was on Local TV Stations-Detroit/Toledo/Ann Arbor/Sandusky areas. Cleveland, Erie & Buffalo wanted to do same, but Dad said too far/too long to get there. Then when The Beatles were on Ed Sullivan in '64, said "Look Dad. NO PIANO!"!!! Immediately started on Guitar! Just like 20 Million other Kids in USA. But, thankfully, Music was in my Blood as my Maternal Gpa played Piano, Accordion, Banjo, Mandolin & Harmonica. And he was "COOL", too. He bought my 1st Guitar after just 90 Days at it.
