I've always loved the irony, because the song and the themes of the album is that the rat race, always wanting more, being the best and number 1 all the time, is what's destroying the planet.
The Brits are the British version of the Grammy Awards. Supremacy was the official and opening song of the London Olympics. That's how big Muse are.

This song was put forward to be used as a Bond theme for Skyfall but that honour went to Adele instead. Shame it wasn't used or even included for a Bond soundtrack.

They were the first band to sell out the newly rebuilt Wembley stadium over in England back in 2007 (90K capacity). Kind of a big deal.

I think with that blend, muse really feels like prog, classic rock, hard rock, metal, hip hop, 80s pop/synth, and classical all blended together

Tarja has done an amazing cover of this song, it's worth watching.
Saw them live when i was 12/13, they were insane.. and again at 18/19, they were better.. then again last month and im 35 and they are without a doubt the best band i have ever seen live. They sell out every stadium they play in worldwide

One of the coolest things about them is they are a three man band. They’ll bring in others here and there. But, they are talented to create that big of a sound with the three of them. Matthew Bellamy plays multiple instruments.

When you have 30 or 40 musicians, the absence of a conductor would be noticeable. All it takes is one violin to be off by a fraction and the experience changes, probably not for the best lol

I can agree with everyone in the comments that this song was composed for a James Bond movie called Skyfall. The drummer went to the producers of Skyfall and said here is a song for this movie. But they denied that song. And gave it to Adele. This song would have been awesome for the movie. Maybe one day the James Bond franchise will have Muse as one of the soundtracks.

I heard a demo tape of Muse on a job site before they even released anything and I knew they would be huge!!I didn't even know who to compare them to because there is really no comparison!!! Then I found out that there were only 3 guys I was shocked
If you guys are in Atlanta, Muse are headlining Shaky Knees Music Festival in May next year. Y'all should go. I'd freak if I saw y'all in the crowd.
This songs astonishing. One of my favourites in the past decade. Muse are BBC.😂 Matt Bellamy would have oversaw the conduction beforehand during rehearsals (as he put it togetger for the album version) and if you watch him, he's doing it mid performance at times. The guy is a musical genius, overlooked by too many!

Have you seen the trash talkers reaction to the good the bad the ugly cover by the Danish National Symphony Orchestra? I wasn’t aware that part of that is what Metallica used as their intro on the S&M album.

I used to think PC culture was society getting soft. Now I tend to see it more as a progressive movement of people caring how their actions affect their fellow people. Yes there are people who take it to the extreme, but for the most part it comes with good intention.

In case everyone else hasn't told you, they've been HUGE in almost every country but the US for about 20 years, topping charts, selling out stadiums, winning awards for both studio recordings and live performances. Not long ago I was having a conversation with my old head boss, he was asking who the actual rock icons would be these days. To me, the Foo Fighters are probably a close equivalent to The Rolling Stones, and Muse is like some combination of Zeppelin, Beatles, and Queen all in one.

They have had 3 different eras pre 2003 was heavy and shorter songs, 2004-2009 more progressive and heavier and post 2009 more pop like they mix some opera in on the resistance (2009) which is pretty cool.

This song was supposed to be a song for a Bond movie, I think Skyfall but they chose Adell. The bass line and lyrics to the song are all Bond. I’ve seen them twice & it’s a crazy show.

Interesting fact. Muse created this song for the soundtrack of what I believe was James Bond skyfall. Producers of the movie denied this song and chose Adele to create her own song for the soundtrack. I am 110% amuse fan and am very disappointed because this song screams James Bond. If you know your James Bond films then you would notice that the end of the song has that James Bond twang to it. We really need Muse to have a song in the next James Bond film. Muse where fucked over by their label, after the label wouldn't release Origin of symmetry in the US in 2001 cause the US don't 'get' falsetto. That's why they changed label after and didn't have a hit till uprising in the US. Amazing band. Best live band of a generation

I played trumpet in high school band. I can tell you right now having the director was huge. Its alot just trying to read the music and hit the right notes haha. I bet by the time you are literally a professional playing the trumpet then yeah you would be fine without him.

It's not "The" Muse. It's just Muse. That's how big they are.
Easily one of the best concerts when I saw them in Atlanta a few years ago.
Got tickets to see Muse next year in June in Glasgow Scotland. They have been going since about 1999... and I have yet to find an album that I hate. When they come to your town to play, they don't come half-cocked... they bring an epic show every time. And... its not The Muse.... just, Muse. I think you'll struggle to find a bad song by these guys.

Sounds like a bit like a James Bond theme? Yeah, I have heard that Supremacy was actually written with the intention to be the theme tune for Skyfall. It sounds as big in the original album version as it does in this live version. The problem with this tune is that its name isn't lined up with the name of the movie it is intended for... (Yeah, I know...) Instead, they went for Adele's 'Skyfall'. I may be bias (I'm a big fan of Muse), but Adele's song is nowhere near as good as this.
