Callisto had to weaken Xena so she could revive the evil reputation. She had to go down completely but fortunately she woke up in time to save Amazing Argo who was refusing to move and pull her body apart. Guess animal sense was kicking in she was still alive.

Salmoneous had a sizeable role in Xena's introduction on Hercules. He was a recurring character on both series in the early years, but then disappeared and was forgotten. Does anyone know why? Did the actor not want to play the part anymore?
He made plenty appearance in Hercules (I'd see too many). The writers eventually decided to lay off the crossovers, so they restricted Salmoneous to Hercules and Callisto to Xena.
There was also the time jump in season 5 after Xena gave birth to Eve, Salmoneous would have been *very* old or dead afterwards.
When it is ending, it said, Although we know the character Calisto, that makes an appearance. It was actually a stunt double. Not the actress Heidi Hudson Leike, who plays Callisto. Here after. xxxx ☺ ☺
I wondered that because you never see her face.
This episode was filmed over a month after completing “Callisto”. It probably wasn’t worth the money to bring Hudson back for just 30 seconds. And not showing her face also added a mystery to her identity.

When I was little in this episode first aired I didn't understand what was going on as far as you know dying and then coming back. Now that I'm older I understand she was shot with a poisoned Dart but the poison dart didn't kill her it just temporarily knocked her out for a few hours
At 1:54 xena kicks a guards testicles like a soccer ball......there is a story behind that kick that the man who took it himself told me.I wont tell his name but he nearly took all the xena nutshots in other episodes too as he found that hot but in this particular episode xena kicked him for real and he nealy passed out as xena had learnt in previous episodes that this pervert guy needs some real treatment🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

@@gianniclaud yes brother😜 that guard who got his sack exploded told me that was a legit kick from xena following an erection saga during a shoot in which that guard laid on top of her in a shoot and got a boner only by touching xena and she noticed it....he also told me that xena always wanted one nutshot in every fight scene and he was her favorite guard wo took nearly all her scrotum shots and you know that guard really loved it and so did xena and he told me a dozen ballbusting stories about her

Hmm ... Now, as an adult, I wonder - is this shot even possible to reproduce? Callisto is standing on a tree branch, holding a mini-crossbow in his bent hand and, apparently, without even aiming, from a decent distance hits the running Xena exactly in the neck, like some kind of Predator. But the Predator has that laser guidance, and Callisto where such abilities come from?)
