Here we have the privilege of enjoying the many talents of a national treasure. I am an American but as we do not seem to have one at the moment and at 83 I do not choose to wait; so Dame Patricia ( and if she is not one, she should be), is a national treasure for me. And she sings beautifully among all the other talents she has honed so wonderfully well. I truly love this woman and know meeting her must be a joy to those who have. Kira
Every single line is hysterical. The only writer who comes close is Alan Bennett. And Patricia Routledge is iconic as Kitty & in Alan's 'Lady of Leters'.
RIP Mrs Wood, who departed less than a month ago. This is truly great work. When I feel like a good dose of playfully dry and sharp wit, I often watch the whole Kitty collection, and am continually amazed at the synergy those two Dames have.
RIP Victoria Wood - the word "genius" is often bandied around too easily - it should be saved for the likes of Victoria. I'm crying with laughter at this but also crying at her loss. We shall never see another like her. I need a Gypsy Cream right now...(being beaten on the bottom with a Woman's Weekly will just have to wait)
A shifty looking youth in plimsoles. Lol. Plimsoles were very flimsy rubber and cotton, black slip on footwear that existed in schools. They were very cheap and basic means of sports footwear back in the 80s. Some teachers liked to throw them at non attentive pupils in class too. How times change.
:D Plimsoles are gym shoes, very common in schools for gym classes.. Back in the 60's 70's and 80's.. Black canvas and rubber soles.. I had 'plimies' when I was at school and many others did too... :D
Written by Victoria Wood. Performed by Patricia Routledge. What a combination!
I keep coming back here. Victoria Wood and Patricia Routledge.......what a gorgeous combination. Can't get enough of Kitty.
She’s hysterical 💖🌻🌻🌻

Plimsoles were also another name for white canvas tennis shoes that had laces.
