Just found you guys, great videos! I'm going to have to go back and catch up. There are 3 ancient "races" of halflings/hobbits: Harfoots, Stoors & Fallohides. The hobbits from the shire are mostly of Harfoot ancestry, but there is a pretty good mix of all 3 branches. This storyline is fascinating (and a little heartbreaking). I'm really interested to see how far they take this Harfoot/Stoor storyline. I'm curious about the futur of the Stoors, since eventually they bacame known as the "river folk" hobbits. I'm wondering how they went from living in the desert to being water people. Also, Smeagol was a Stoor hobbit. edit: one more thing, Tom is... he just IS. Nobody really knows what or who he is. All we know is that he is the oldest being on middle earth. There are speculations that he is actually Eru Iluvatar! Now, that'd be a gag, if the series hinted at that!
