    9th in goals for, 6th in goals against, and 31st in SOG. generating good scoring chances.

      Drouin 3rd overall turned into Sergachev, 19th overall from Detroit at the same time, turned into Vasilievski. You dont get the 1+2nd overall without tanking

      Hedman, sure. Stamkos was playing for years before they won the cup. The context is if you try to get top 3-4 picks for a few years in a row via an engineered tank, it hasn't worked t hat way for most recent cup winners. There are other ways to build a team besides solely being terrible. The best example of this is the Oilers with the proliferation of top picks and that hasn't equalled a deep playoff run let alone a Cup.

      hughes/hronek only pairing in the league playing 20+ minutes a game without a goal scored on them.
