I've been watching this bit by bit over the last few days and I've been constantly amazed! The planning, the execution, the editing, it's a pure 10/10, and the debrief gave me chills. As a wise merchant once said, you're an artist mate!
Thank you so much, Kestral. It is a very long video and no small thing to watch it through. I'm honoured and so thankful for such positive feedback - can't tell you how glad I am to hear those comments, as I still feel I've got so much to learn in the process of creating these walkthroughs. It's immensely encouraging.
I'm still amazed how well the voice acting in this game sounds, considering it was done in 1998. When I recently showed a "game movie" version of this game to a friend, she was amazed at how well it was executed and how immersive the story was. You've done a great job with this one, good sir. If you'll do a cinematic challenge of MGS2, I might use that to show it to my friend. I only wonder if you'll be able to explain the mind-melting ending of that game ^^"
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the walkthrough, really appreciate hearing that. 🙏 Agreed, I love the voice acting in MGS1 so much, even the texture of their voices is unique and perfect for the setting. I remember that they cleaned up the audio for the Twin Snakes remake and for me personally it takes away so much character and impact, from Gray Fox especially. I also have issues with MGS4 in how the delivery just does not match the quality or character of the original voices, even with many characters returning. Though, David Hayter is always excellent. I absolutely will take on MGS2 and try my best in the closing comments to cover the twist, especially in relation to today's times. I never get too much time to discuss during the run as the areas go so fast while hitting that Big Boss ranking. 😅 It will be a while though, so by all means get your friend to watch a similar style to the one you showed - if she enjoyed 1's cutscenes, 2 will be mind-blowing. 🔥
I can't tell you how awesome it is to hear that. It's been a while since I did Metal Gear 1&2, but I hoped this would reach those who enjoyed them and wanted to see MGS especially. Thank you - really glad you enjoyed the playthrough. 🙏🫡
As someone who has achieved big boss rank enough can’t be said about how in control and easy you made that look, my hats off too you soul, what a truly masterful performance
Thank you so much, funkyman. 🔥 I played and routed this throughout the year, going hard with the recording and attempts in the latter half. I don't think it's possible without at least 2 RNG bearing saves, unless you're willing to keep playing at high level for that 1% run. I took four in the end that helped out so much in keeping things controlled, manageable, and focused. The M1 Tank, Gray Fox, the Rappel sequence, and Liquid gave me the most trouble throughout the process - due to where they fell in the route and how quickly they can punish mistakes / become erratic. Thank you so much for the awesome feedback, and so glad you enjoyed the video.
The first psx game I played, definitely was a formative experience. And it had a great spanish dub too, such a same the rest of the series was never dubbed, but even then I loved them to death. I was crying by the end of MGS4. You served us an amazing gameplay, kinda makes me want to give the old MGS another go
I never knew it was dubbed in Spanish, that's so cool! Definitely a shame it wasn't carried on since they did a great job - I'll have to give the different variations a listen sometime. And thank you, Argos, so glad to hear you enjoyed the gameplay. 🙏 This game was formative to me too, even though I played many games as a kid, it was this and FFVII that woke me up to what the medium could achieve with complex and emotional storytelling - it's an all time classic, well worth revisiting every now and then. 🔥
To be fair, this style of video is pretty classic compared to newer trends, so I don't blame you for thinking it's from long ago. 😅 Hope you enjoy it, Reno!
There is something I have to comment about Psycho Mantis before you fight him. He reads your memory card and makes a comment when these games' save data are in your memory slots: • SUIKODEN (幻想水滸伝 _Gensou Suikoden_): "So, you play SUIKODEN?" • Azure Dreams: "So, you like Azure Dreams?" • Castlevania: Symphony of the Night: "You like Castlevania, don't you?" • Vandal Hearts: "You enjoy role-playing games." • At least 3 games developed and published by Konami: "I see that you enjoy Konami games!" (Surprise surprise, but all four of these games listed are Konami games!)
@CrimsonDevil_Rias I love that. In the Master Collection version of MGS, they allow you to place those saves into the system's memory card so he will make those comments still - just a small, but brilliant addition for a modern re-release.
Hello~ What do you mean by 100%? All items? Kill all soldiers? All codec calls? This playthrough is time and kill sensitive for Big Boss rank. I collected only what I felt was necessary to clear each hurdle without taking damage, while also honouring the story. I hope this answers your question. Feel free to ask any more. 🙏

Nicely done, I watched your previous Metal Gear Big Boss runs and hope you would do MGS. But now you outdid yourself good commentary as always 👍

Wow, 12 days ago??? I recently found this and thought this was like long ago nice

Legendary!
It's always a treat to see Metal Gear uploaded to your channel.
The next game to tackle is MGS2: Sons of Liberty.
Thank you so much. I hope you enjoy this playthrough. Whatever Metal Gear I take on next, I will release the next one faster. Full steam ahead. 🫡🐍

More MGS? Heck yes 🔥🔥
Thanks, Kara~ 🙏🔥
Every time I hear Baker say MUF 😂
"Not only that, several pounds of MUF are reported every year." It cracks me up too, man. 😂 Same with that signal modulator in RE2R.
very well done and played, mate. i really like that chill vibe of your commentary. 👍and thanks for creating all the chapters 👌
Music to my ears - very glad and happy to hear you enjoyed it, Mat! Thank you~ 🙏🔥
I'll be watching this tonight, excited to see it!
@TarnishedHawk Awesome! Thank you, Hawk! 🔥🫡
YO let's gooooooo
Hope you enjoy! 📦
Can you do a twin snakes version please?
Though I'm not a big fan the Twin Snakes remake, I wouldn't mind seeing how the no damage approach differs in that version. Perhaps one day!
@SoulSignal Not 100% or more? If no, then why?
