i felt like reading the novel that Woolf uses both free indirect discourse and the stream of consciousness at the same time because when Peter Walsh later on gets introduced on his own, he had not yet had any introduction to Clarissa or Septimus had never had known Clarissa. therefore, we might say that narrative runs from one character's flow of thoughts to another, it is not only in the context of the 3rd person narrative and within her the others.
