Both teams put out a great effort and texas paid off the officials pretty well too
My teams offense still needs a LOT of work. Pro tip for the receivers: If the ball hits you in the hands...catch it. It doesn't count unless you catch it. But can we take a moment to recognize the leaps of improvement on defense. Especially at LB. Who would have thought Overshown was a head hunter? Two weeks in a row he has shown to be a real LB. Win win.
He was a major head hunter on his high school tape. Just hasn’t shown until now.

The Refs cheated like a muthaxxx. I sat and watched em do it, but it's not the first time.
By your defense maybe. 2 calls or no calls on these highlights alone went your way: you got away with a block in the back on a punt return and that roughing the passer call was iffy at best (defender was arguably blocked into the QB, which by rule should make it a no-call). You had plenty of time to stop them on the last drive and failed; you used up all your time outs before you really needed them (that's just flat out bad coaching -- I don't care why they were called earlier). Sorry, that's on WV. I'm not a Texas fan, in fact, I hate Texas. I was rooting for WV but the way you guys played made that hard. By no means a perfect game by anyone on the field (players, coaches, or officials) but the loss was clearly on WV. Go cry somewhere else.

On that second down pass that Texas iced the game getting the first down, even had WV chosen to actually COVER an eligible receiver (imagine such a concept of playing defense) the soft zone over the middle probably leads to a completion for a gain that brings up, at worst, 3rd and short for Texas. A riskier pass, to be sure (incomplete wise) but with WV having no timeouts (their own fault), still its Texas' game to win. Setting up to stop the run on that play was one thing; going after the QB was just stupid. Sorry, but it was and it led directly to the loss. If Ehlinger happened to get lucky and break free for a first down gain, well, then, they luck out and win. But you CAN control pass and run coverages and WV didn't do that.
