COURTIN IN THE KITCHEN

The origins to this song has been surprising elusive. The seemingly most reliable sources place it as an Irish broadside ballad dating to before the 1880s and likely to have been from Dublin… (no doubt its copyrighted)
My favorite version of this song is by the late Dessie O Halloran with Sharon Shannon, Mundy and Declean O Rourke to name but a few. They seem to be having so much fun with it and isn't that what music is all about?
