Esoc runs on donations from the community as a non-profit.
Escape was a venture by Inter and others to try to invest a lot of money and make money in the future. Sadly, it didn't work out well. It was a great attempt though

Yes there is although. Esoc revived Aoe3 in 2015 and its doing great now. Constant tournaments are going on.

I think AOE3 is a good game but if this is a grand final, then it's clear the quality of pro play is nowhere near the precision and finesse of top tier starcraft or AOE2

I never accepted "III" into the fold of legends that were its predecessors. Thank god they redid AoE2, at least they werent able to fuck as many things up as here. Sorry, i really cant stand aoe3, the look, the perspective, the feel.

How can you find watching two mostly identical civs spamming xbows and a mangonel or two at each other and then a forward castle on enemy resources with a treb not a bore fest? AOE3 each civ has unique units, more variety of units, unique strats via home city cards, trade posts, native civs, more ages. AOE2 is king of bore fests, so glad aoe3 de came out so I can stop playing aoe2

@@snakerman2612 AOE2 has a larger player base. Larger player base does not mean 'better'. Call of duty has a massive player base, and tons of views I'm sure. The gameplay is super low level though, just mindless shooting. The masses apparently love mindless. And obviously it isn't boring to me, if it was I wouldn't watch/play it. I switched over after 1000 hours of AOE2, and will never go back to aoe2.
