I heard this song and thought an awful thought...that it would be a great song for a funeral. I was shocked by my thought. I found my husband 15 minutes later unresponsive and not breathing. He had passed, suddenly and unexpectedly of a heart attach in his sleep. I immediately knew it was my husbands last effort, he was saying goodbye. Tom played this song as he left this earth so that I could survive the heartbreak. I love Eddie Vedder, I love that he sang this song for David Letterman because Warren was his favorite artist. If it wasn't for you all I wouldn't have got the good bye. I know in my heart it took everything he had to lay this song in my lap. I am forever grateful. I know my husband will always be tied to me like a button on my blouse. 💔
Here’s to hoping that this song continues to provide you comfort as the years go by. And I bet your husband would agree with Warren’s sentiment to “Enjoy every sandwich.” Keep on living!
What a beautiful and heartbreaking story, I'm sorry for your loss. 😊💓🤘✌️ Eddie sings this incredible just like the song that hurts my heart "Come Back" that's a real emotional one for me! I know this song met so much to David Letterman his favorite singer and song writer Warren Zevon RIP 😇💝🌹Thank You for sharing this awesome video 😊💓🤘✌️
I woke up with this song on my mind. Recently my husband passed in May and he loved this song. He's been on my mind and I had to hear it. I miss you every single day, Eric!
I had a near death experience, went to heaven & came back with one foot here & one foot still on the other side and they (the dead) are with u the minute you think to say their name. It's so quick. Ask him to show for symbols or numbers or songs or an animal and it'll show up. When u wake up especially and go to sleep is when communication can come in easily BC ur brain waves have slowed. Meditation helps alot. I'm sorry for ur loss. I hope this helped
My husband died in February last year just a week before our 37th anniversary and still most days I can barely breathe.. I was with him holding his hand and his head went back and he quietly slipped away without taking another breath.. This song would have been perfect and healing for his Memorial service ..
The great Warren Zevon, one singer and song writer more people need to hear. A tragedy that we lost him at an age when he still had so much to offer. Eddie does a good job with one of Warrens most beautiful songs.
My husband was killed suddenly and when I heard this song, it was exactly what I needed to hear. I played it at his funeral and I play it daily sometimes
This should cement Eddies legacy as a singer. His song selection and interpretation on Warren Zevon’s great song is nothing short of phenomenal. I came to Eddie long after grunge. It was a ukulele album that turned me on to his voice. Then covering Dylan’s Masters Of War ... wow. Been a fan ever since. RIP Warren. You were one of a kind.
I love this song so much. Warren Zevon was a very talented singer, songwriter, and performer! I love his version of this beautiful song as well as Eddie Vedder's cover and Steve Balsamo and Lee Gilbert's version❤ My husband lost a struggle with dementia 10 years ago and he is always in my ❤️
Lost my sweer dad this year. So, so love this song, ...though it makes me cry every time i play it. I will keep him in my heart for more than awhile. Thank you Eddie.

You doing OK now? It's been three years for me now. Getting a bit better. Life!! Oh my, it's so great for so long and then ack!, ack!, no........! noo, noo, nooo. People we love are going to die!?!? No! No! No😔. Yeah, it's reality. Just some days,........ I'm not really happy with reality.

Thank you for this one, Eddie. One of your biggest fans passed away two weeks ago today. We traveled to see Pearl Jam concerts all over the U.S. This one speaks to me.
And that is all of us. It would be perfect if that created a bond between people. One reason it doesn’t is that grief is a private thing. When my mother died years ago my father was deep in his own head, my brother in his own, and I was removed from both.
This goes to someone that goes through shit that some people don't understand but I do. Thank you and ounce I connected all the dots and I find all the missing puzzle pieces figure out how all this works I just want to thank you for helping me get up ounce again and I hope you can see me trying and until then keep me in your heart for a while.

To all of those whose life was impacted by my presence for a season or two, I'm thinking of you too. To you I pray for thee an Irish blessing. Much love por vida and beyond....besos
Eddie's voice really captures the essence of this song, much in the same way that Johnny Cash captured the essence of Hurt more than Trent Reznor. Both still beautiful, but Vedder has such power and grace in his voice.
To you. Thus may surprise you, but you are not the center of the universe, and your experiences are not shared by all. What makes one need to shit on anyone else's enjoyment? It must be sad to be you.

No one can sing this like Zevon. Whether I’m thinking of Daddy or thinking of Warren, the tears still fall. Please Stay rips me up, too…
Warren Zevon. Vedder does the honors of bringing Z's spirit to life and light. What an amazing man this Vedder is.
