Stupid author only writing more and more stupid story, church is not as big issue, but they would kill him on spot too. If author would make nobles on his side (good one) it would make this story better, but still I don't like direction where is going, more and more is fairy tale, than good world building.
Ah man I really wanted to see the new cathedral with the stained glass. This turned out to be a really interesting story, Starts off with a prodigy teaching himself the inner workings of magic, Becoming the lord of his own land, going from a nobody to nobility and getting hitched with a intelligent noble bride. Very good story. It was pretty odd to have the names changed halfway through. Like Karl turned to Kyle, Ars is described as Achala. And the battle somewhere in the middle was skipped with Vargas, kinda left out some big development from the story. But this is definitely 1 of my favorite recaps. Good work 👏

He can solidify his existing power base by basically giving a stronger buy-in through the marriage as well as increasing the incentives for them to want the current power structure to hold. Plus it creates a stronger chance of maintaining the knowledge and skills for both the magic and infrastructure. It basically makes it so that what might become a rogue faction in his holdings now becomes a key support strut for his own system.
He least like five and has the mind of an adult trying to build a building with stone bricks which is pretty impressive and extremely hard for your first time building something unless you're a construction worker or an architect and he should be proud to be able to build anything.
Again this is why the elites shouldn't underestimate the commoners they may not have that much influence but they definitely have the numbers on their side and the will to fight to protect what's theirs I mean just ask the French royalty and nobles how that worked out for them? Child starts massively changing the landscape outside of town and no one seems to notice. Little kid in a village with meager food supply farms massive crops and no one even attempts to steal some or take over his farm. This child who is farming on a massive scale and doing huge business dealings and his parents, who see little personal gain from this, give him free rein to do as he pleases. Can’t suspend disbelief far enough to care about this junk.

It’s less that it’s faster and that it’s inconsistent. The speed of the text to speech program increases and decreases causing the pacing to be off.
