Thanks for the guide ! You can also do a leg yield in the counter-bend by holding the leg cue of the opposite side of the yielding ;-) That's renvers on the circle
Thanks for the comment! This guide was intended to cover the movements mentioned in the in-game manual, but I very much do enjoy hearing how others are combining and recreating additional movements. I considered covering some of these (doable movements not mentioned), but I was worried it might be a bit out of scope for a video covering the basics. We have so many options, it's really wonderful haha.
Thank you! The dev really did do an amazing job. Dressage in horse games is usually pretty bland, but playing this has been fantastic. Now we just need a Dressage arena to do tests in, lol.
I hope the animation for pirouette improves, but oh my god dressage is so hard. I love how realistic they managed to make it while also still making it fun. Imagine doing this online with other players, watching each other from the stands at the level of skill it takes to maintain these moves by playing twister with your fingers. Thanks for the tutorials, the book makes it sound so complicated!
Agreed! The mechanics definitely mean way more to me than the animations, but it would be nice to have some of them spruced up for sure. I freaking adore the Dressage. It really raises the standard for riding mechanics in horse games imo. I was able to get way more comfortable with it just through making this video, and it's getting easier every time I practice, and hopefully we get access to a proper Dressage ring with letters soon so we can ride real tests. It would be great to be able to sit and watch others ride in a lobby, though I think that will remain a dream haha. I'm so glad the tutorial was helpful. I tried to break it down into smaller pieces to make it more digestible. I'm very visual, so I find it easier to watch the thing being done as opposed to reading about it.
i think their should be more emphasis on the seat and leg to crate a round shape, a good solid connection with the horses mouth not pulling! as we push from the seat and leg to create roundness! the hands are passive to a certain degree except to guide and control of the horse! i realize this could be hard to achieve in a game, BUT! when fiddling with the rein will create more round but they wont stay their if u stop doing this the horse will nose will go in the air, in IRL have constancy in the rein and using your leg and seat to create the horse to be come round! not the other way. as UKCC L2 horse riding coach and long time gamer. i like the concept and the game idea keep it up! i think this would a good game on PlayStation 5 with the haptic feed back triggers for use the legs, analog sticks left and right as the rein and L3 and R3 used for the riders seat would refine the use of the aids in the game! could prove complicated for the gamer??
Yeah I definitely see where you're coming from. I don't completely agree either with how we round the horse and handle certain aspects of collection and impulsion. I figure it's more a limitation of controls + it being a game and not wanting there to be too many buttons we have to hit at once to mirror all the things that would be done in real life.
@bitapetrone1220 as ukcc riding coach, I don't want people to feel I'm picking at the game, but with what sed might help few irl horse riders understand the aids a little more?
@@Mrequine1 I don't see it as picking at the game at all. There are def valid critiques of the implementation (with consideration that there are of course limitations to what the controls of a game can offer without tipping into tedium or requiring an absurdly complex combination of buttons), and I think talking about where it differs (or is the same) compared to real life is interesting and informative.
When I played I noticed that whenever I tried to turn by pulling on the reins during an extended trot it would trigger an extended canter but I have no idea how to maintain it or which cues caused the horse to register extended canter 😭😭
What's probably happening is you're transitioning into the canter accidentally because you're hitting the rein + the legs at the same time, and the game is briefly considering the canter to be extended because it's not loading the transition correctly.
Haha, yeah, my fingers were spaghetti for a bit. The muscle memory is starting to stick finally. Making this video helped since I had to rerecord some of it a few times when I messed up my obs settings rofl.

The person who coded this is a genius. Thank you for showing it off, very nice guide.

Good guide. If i end up getting this game i know where to return for some help with dressage 😅
Thankee! I hope it can be useful. :)

Makes sense but it gives me hope that there might be a way to do extended canter 😅
@@deannam-sn1zs Haha yeah. It's sort of strange that it doesn't exist.
I don't understand when I try to do one of this element it doesn't work how do I make it work ?

I am not made for dressage on pc😹

Yeah i finally got the click of it too but it took a while!
Very thorough. Thanka
