Stephanie Mills sang Never Knew Love Like This Before with a Sprang Ankle! (02242024 - Primm, NV)

This was no Pilot Error! I saw the one and only Stephanie Mills! She appeared at the Star of the Desert Arena inside Buffalo Bill's Casino and Resort in Primm Valley of February 24, 2024. She returned limping to the stage after an energetic first half explaining that she had sprained her ankle when she left the stage during her background singer's centerstage performance. Her ankle was wrapped in elastic bandage, and it was obvious that, as she continued to perform, the pain was starting to sink in, but she persevered. I was amazed that she didn't cancel the show. What a trouper! Never having seen her live before and I've been wanting to see her in concert for a long time. And she didn't disappoint. She sang most of her hits, except, um, Pilot Error but, if anything, my admiration and respect for her has gone stronger. Her vocals were nothing less than amazing and hopefully as you can hear during this performance of her Grammy winning song "Never Knew Love Like This Before" (Trivia note: She won over Diana Ross' "Upside Down.") Hope I'll have a chance to see her again.
