Who the hell is coaching Portugal? The structure, the positioning, the lines. You don´t just start doing things like that on the year you feel like it! INCREDIBLE!
It was Patrice Lagisquet. He used to be a great player back in his days. He actually applied for the Spanish National team but ended up in Portugal. He resigned after the WC to focus on his family
I could watch Portugal play all day every day, so entertaining and full of flair and exciting players, hopefully they can qualify for the World Cup, they may shock a few nations
Portugal and Rumania had their good patches in past decades. Spain the same, Morocco too. Georgia came out of nowhere and became world class. They just need more funding and development to get higher up in standard.
Gotta let them play. NZ put 144 points on Japan back in the 90s at a world cup. It takes a while for teams to develope and you have to get them playing as much as possible even if they get destroyed while they improve. I doubt the Kenyans are complaining about this opportunity.
When the scores exceed game time........... well its not a secret Kenya Rugby has been on a free fall look at Kenya 7s cant seem to win any game at all
Why give a yellow card to team getting hammered for something as slight as tackling someone after 5 meters and not 10. It wasn´t even in their own half. I don´t consider that a cynical foul and certainly not good for developing rugby.
I agree. Refs need to remember that ALL sports are there for us - the spectator. I know it was a second “offence”, but really sending the player off, for what was basically an innocuous tackle, was disappointing and detracted from the game. Even at the “Premier” level, there are too many Red Cards, and 10 minutes for a Yellow is too long.
@@saoirsedeltufo7436 and common sense is common sense whether you have any or not. According to the rule book, its a penalty. The yellow card in this case was at the refs discretion.
And the double forward passes at 9:14 ! And why not come back to the advantage for Kenya at 8:05 when Kenya loses the ball litteraly 8 seconds later ? Not to say that Portugal didn't deserve to win but there was some arbitral mistakes...
Amateurs vs pros. It's completely ridiculous. Obvious gap in funding, coaching, youth resources and to compound it the non Portuguese moving there from elsewhere to play world cup rugby. Only the richer nations get that kind of influx of talent. It's a bit of a joke matching them against each other.
It’s not “ridiculous.” How do you expect developing rugby nations to improve, attract fans, players, officials and sponsors if they do not try to compete at higher levels? These players are attempting to qualify for the World Cup. That’s a huge step up for Kenya, who worked very hard to get there. For those players, this qualifying tournament may be the highest level they ever achieve. They may go on to become coaches, officials or administrators. They are likely inspiring the next generation, even if they are soundly beaten by more fortunate teams. It wasn’t that long ago that Japan, Georgia and, dare I say it, Portugal were not very good at international rugby. Give these lads some respect.
What would you say about the pacific island nations? Very low population, hardly any funding…they just want to play and win. Kenya has a good 7s team. Give it time and they will make an impact
@@yvelf, the Pacific Island nations have been providing players to Australia and New Zealand for decades. They get a decent contract and playing time, so they can send money home. Big difference from the third tier developing rugby nations.
An under 17 years old high school rugby team can beat Kenya any day. I wish to see them vs the all blacks. I guess they can get 400-0 in a space of 80 minutes
What impressed me about Portugals rugby was the way they kept the ball moving, great recycling and pace. The game against the USA could be a classic.

I think they will against USA.
Hoping the first will be the USA.

Guy who tried to pick it up clearly knocked it on and the player on the ground reflexively deflected it with his hands.
