  • After a very light English Channel, the sailors are now passing through the Bay of Biscay, a place usually known for strong winds and brutal waves. But not this time around! There is just about enough breeze to build a momentum, something everyone has been longing for.

THANK YOU for such wonderful video blogs of The Ocean Race. I’ve been so happy w/ the commentator who explains all aspects of sailing, navigation, & ship repairs w/ such skillful knowledge & child-like awe/wonder at what humans can do.
I don’t sail, so to have someone explain so much to me has really enhanced my enjoyment while getting a greater understanding of what I’m enjoying.
I feel like I’m there when I watch these videos, not landlocked in Denver.
    Again, THANK YOU!
IT, AV & editing just aced it!!🎉

The WindWhisper crew said “This may be the last time VO65s race in the Ocean Race, so let’s go all-out!” And I respect that.

Since the arrival of the boats in Itajaí, I had been thinking about the shape of the front sails. And now that you touch on the subject , it is very interesting to think about looking at IMOCA with that backward poles, giving more work and options, I think. Thanks Nial

Marvelous explanation on Jib trimming Nials, epic footage of the crews aboard these technologically advanced racing sailing craft. Francesca Clapcich aboard 11th Hour gives us a fabulous introduction with this last leg to Italy and the different weather these boats will see on the passage. Fantastic to see 11th Hour back on the course after the amount of damage received by the French. Certainly, we shall stay tuned for following exciting News from Nials.

Maybe the front three will stop and wait for 11th Hour to catch up so we get the race for the win we all wanted 😕

From a PR perspective, a move like that would make global headlines. However, imo, doubtful that will happen.

It’s what they should’ve done at the start of the race when the collision happened - all wait until 11th hour is able to race again.

Yeah just wait for a boat that can’t get points for the leg

Any issues to be expected from the school of orcas that has been roaming the coast of Spain /Portugal, tearing rudders from boats?

And no one talks about the IMOCA wrecks being unable to close in on the VO65 class. This whole race is a charade and the choices made are way off.
