- Why do you push people away? Sometimes God will send us someone to love and we push them away because we don't know how to receive it. For many of us this is “normal” but it isn’t necessarily God’s best for us. Pastor Steven Furtick shares from Genesis 3 where God created Adam and Eve to be unashamed of who they were. They felt no need to hide from each other because they felt no shame.
But after being told lies by the enemy they ate from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Their eyes were opened to the ugliness of sin and shame. Their first response was the same as yours and mine -- they hid from themselves and from God.
As Pastor Steven says in the message, Focus On The Fruit, you have to stop and ask yourself the question: who told you that? We pray this message helps you focus on what really matters and fully embrace the blessings of God in your life.

When he said “ who told you you had to do something extra to be accepted.” It hit me in the feels. I swear I needed to hear that. I’m 19 and feeling a little lost in life especially career wise. Ever since I was a rejected little girl I dreamed of riches and fame and now that I’m older and those dreams haven’t come true I realize I only chased that dream because I thought I had to do something extraordinary to be accepted by those around me finally... or even to accept myself. So when he said those words it was a eye opening moment for me.

A Pastor Steven Furtick sermon a day keeps the devil away. Everyday, every morning, for a while now I’ve listened to Elevation Church’s messages and it’s got me through the darkest storms. Y’all have been incredibly encouraging. Out of the many sermons I’ve listened to though and have LOVED. This one is my favorite!!! Last night i had one too many and it made me sick. I hated being drunk so much. I felt like I offended God. I could also feel the devil trying extra hard to mess with my mind and tell me im not a loyal Christian. I prayed after i got done throwing up and tried to just walk by faith. I didnt know how to get out of feeling bad... so i felt unworthy and like i wanted to hide i side myself!! but.... :) THEN i saw this message and the perfect timing of it was GOD telling me “you dont haveto hide” he just wanted me to come right back into his arms. Thank you for you great teachings pastor steven God is working through you so much. I am having a mich better day and i wil lforever change my drinking habits. Praise God, HALLELUJAH!!

I'm an ER nurse who got hurt on the job just 4 days after returning from a mission trip to Malawi. I've been depressed but today is a new day. My favorite verse is Romans 8:28.! Anytime I go through a storm it’s what I hold on to.
My trials on this Earth time have given me the knowledge God is with me through every aspect of my life. He is only a thought and a prayer away. In my tribulations and triumphs he is so Good!!! I just need to keep trusting him every moment. I easily let the world feel my life with fear.

Earlier we just had our online prayer meeting and fellowship. After that i felt like something is lacking in me. In that time i was focusing more on what is happening to me thats why i think i felt so lonely.
