The concept for this song is Stockholm syndrome where Taemin is both the "criminal" and the victim = 2 egos within his mind; one fighting to maintain the status quo and suppress/hold captive the newly emerging ego; the other wanting to break free and become a new, perfected version of Taemin. "IDEA" is the climactic battle for that dominance with visions of Hell ("criminal" ego) and Heaven ("newly resurrected ego") and the concept for that one is Plato's Theory of Forms - any material form can only achieve perfection if it comes from a higher power outside the material thing/form itself. This fits in perfectly with Taemin's Christian worldview.
I don't think I've ever seen Taeminnie wear a bad outfit. He just makes anything look good. It's like... Luscious. He's always involved in the aesthetics of his videos and wardrobe and he pulls everything off. Supervillains done well, lol.

Taemin is an incredible artist !!! He's not just a singer or a dancer, he's an all around amazing "artist". And I agree he keeps getting better and better, all his MV's are extremely creative and they allow him to have a lot of personal input too, which is to their benefit & ours. I'm so glad that SM have allowed him to have a solo career as well because he draws people in by the thousands. He's also extremely funny when he does comedy skits too. I just love him.

What I love about Taemin (I love millions of things about him, but regarding fashion and his style, lol) is that he rarely shows any skin and yet he’s so freaking sensual, sexy and burning hot! That’s the thing I guess, he is so classy with his outfits and stage appearance and he has this mind blowing stage presence and charisma, he doesn’t need to flex his naked muscles to seduce everyone... My favorite artist in the world!
I also love Taemin, but I’ve got to push back on “rarely shows any skin”: he’s partly or entirely shirtless in Danger, Move, Idea, and his 2016 and 2017 MAMA performances, just off the top of my head. Classy, yes, conservative, no.

I also don’t think he is conservative, just following him I can clearly see he doesn’t show his skin often. Fully clothed in Press It, Want, Famous, Criminal and idea IDEA era (except for the one crop turtleneck outfit). Danger era was an exception, I guess he was making a statement that he is a full adult now :)

Chain-mail shirt is definitely my favorite look even if it looks potentially very painful to dance in... I just love how the front is chained together making it more like a bolero; not only does that give him a lot more freedom of movement, it also adds some more cool textures to it. I also loved how they accessorized with more silvery/metallic pieces that worked to normalize what could have potentially been a super gaudy and somewhat distracting... accessory? piece of clothing? The mesh undershirt was a nice touch too. I also love how the other pieces of clothing in that outfit add a softness to it that makes it fit in so nicely with the other looks in this mv. >.< Also, I highly recommend any A.C.E. video if we're talking really interesting outfits. Particularly their second-most-recent mv Goblin(Favorite Boys).
While everyone talks about Idea, I'd recommend to check out Danger (his first solo MV) and Famous before that. (And also sayonara hitori dance with Koharu for rEasOns) Outfits in Idea are great, but I don't feel like all of them they are best for him, they overflow the thin elegance of his body. I liked Idea rooftop MV more cause he was in croptop all the time, simple, but somehow better.
Be prepared for iDEA because he looks amazing one moment you think he is an angel next moment he looks like a hot devil :)))))))))))))))))))) Taemin is a fashion icon for sure!

The last outfit that you loved is actually a trend among the male idols in Korea. Many of the groups, weather well known like BTS all the way to the lessen known groups internationally known like ONEUS have used this look in either videos and/or preformances. And I love it personally. The jackets themselves can be cut into so many different ways and yet give a stunning effect when they are all on one group at once...one of my favs is BTS's Jimin, when he wore half a jacket and it strapped around his waist in a preformance for i believe Fake Love. They all had on different cuts of the jackets but my favs of that preformance had to Jimin and Hobi....
