(note: I'm a big fan of Chinese historical dramas, this is the first time I have rated this a bad drama) I don't know that the film production was thinking when they put this together

守卫驸马府的一个门官，在秦香莲带着一儿一女京城寻夫，来到驸马府时，第一反应是拦着不让进。当秦香莲说明是来找那负心的陈世美时，他为难了。如果放秦香莲进去，自己就是失职，会受到惩罚的；如果不放她们进去，良心上过不去。左右为难之际，突然计上心来，他让秦香莲撕下半幅罗裙，假装自己拦了，是秦香莲硬闯进去的。
陈世美看到秦香莲母女三人突然闯入府中，到他面前时，大吃一惊。这时门官拿着半幅罗裙慌乱地来到陈世美面前，陈世美一下子明白了，只能斥责门官“无用的东西，还不滚下去”了事。
门官所为在整出戏中戏份很小，可以说不值得一提，但从门官身上折射出的合乎人性良知选择的光辉，足以令后人惊叹。
另一个故事是，1992年2月，柏林墙倒塌两年后，守墙卫兵因格•亨里奇受到了审判，因在柏林墙倒塌前，他射杀了一位企图翻墙而过的青年克里斯•格夫洛伊。亨里奇的律师辩称这些卫兵仅仅是为执行命令，别无选择，罪不在己。
然而，法官西奥多•赛德尔却不这么认为：“作为警察，不执行上级命令是有罪的，但打不准是无罪的。作为一个心智健全的人，此时此刻，你有把枪口抬高一厘米的主权，这是你应主动承担的良心义务。这个世界，在法律之外还有‘良知’。当法律和良知冲突之时，良知是最高的行为准则，而不是法律。尊重生命，是一个放之四海而皆准的原则。”
最终，卫兵亨里奇因蓄意射杀格夫洛伊被判处三年半徒刑。
同样是守卫，在面对善与恶的选择时，一个是盲目的服从命令，充当了帮凶，是犯罪行为，最终遭到了判刑的恶报；一个服从天理良心的选择，运用智慧，帮助善良的秦香莲母女三人，其行为获得后人的赞誉。
1999年7月，中共元凶江泽民开始迫害法轮功，国人都在面对善与恶的良心选择。习惯于党文化思维的中国人，面对中共铺天盖地的谎言，很多都不假思索的认为法轮功不好。经过法轮功学员多年坚持不懈的讲真相，很多人明白真相，运用智慧善待法轮功学员，如接到举报法轮功学员的不出警；或者出警不出力，消极对待；或者半路释放法轮功学员；检察官出具不起诉证明；有的法官弄成病报放一边，有的法官当庭宣判法轮功学员无罪等，这就是明白真相后人的正义选择。
在善与恶的选择面前，是盲目服从命令做帮凶，还是保持良知帮助受难者，成了人未来得福报还是遭恶报的关键选择。
