If we get MBDTF and WTT he will love Yeezus….he always expressed sympathy for Kanye to the point that I think he will enjoy it as long as he hears enough of his buildup to the record….remember this comment 🗽
GONE GONE / THANK YOU is also my favorite Tyler song. It starts as kind of a temper tantrum and then morphs into a very mature breakup song, just showing appreciation for the good times while acknowledging that it's still going to hurt for a long time. Beautiful track. I heard it at the time in my life when I probably needed it the most.
Yeah Tyler brought up the point that when black creators do something relatively experimental, it's labelled as "urban" rather than falling into the genres it would otherwise.
This album was a big time grower for me. One of my favorites. Pops was surprisingly receptive to a lot of the more experimental sounds that I expected.
Tyler is one of those people like Björk, they do everything alone and bring a select cast of people to intervene whenever they think they need a boost, and they are mostly vocalists, Björk has sometimes used someone for beats when she didn't knew how to use some piece of software, but she does all that weird work by herself, is crazy, and she djs too
I think one of the best things about this album is its length. Too many albums nowadays are stretched out to 18 or 20+ tracks to get more streaming revenue, so I really respect when an artist just says what they have to say and leaves it at that. There's rarely a good reason any album should have more than 15 tracks. Great reaction as always :)
This tour was phenomenal. Went for my 40th birthday. Dad should watch his live performance. Maybe Lollapalooza from last year. He’s incredible live. So fun.
18:42 The self help thing he's listening to is comedian/writer actor Jerrod Carmichael who is Tyler's friend. He actually had a sitcom on NBC called "Carmichael".....It was amazingly horrible before it was cancellled after 3 seasons.
this album was only produced and arranged by Tyler. He wrote the album and recorded it and put the sections where they are. It was Mixed by Neal H Pogue and mastered by Mike Bozzi. dudes at the top of their game. Same with any Tame impala album everyone wants to say it's all one guy. it never is.
I get it. One of my hot takes musically is I think that though this is creatively Tyler's peak. I think it's his weakest musically of his last 3 albums, and I believe that Flower Boy is the best. To each their own and ik I'm a minority here. I'm excited for you dad to hear Circles by Mac Miller, Awaken My Love by Childish Gambino, and some Gorillaz albums. I think those albums he'll love that are also favorites of mine.
about the A BOY IS A GUN sample: i believe tyler actually worked on Bound 2 so i guess it's safe to assume they both used the sample at the same time lol
I don’t know if you’ll do R&B albums. But this album and Solange’s album (When I Get Home) are the same type of albums. And it makes sense because they’re best friends. Y’all should do a reaction to her album 🙏🏾
I wishhhh and i hopeeee that maybe you could show him Cherry bomb its my favorite tyler album and its actually tylers fav album hes made with OKAGA, CA being his 2nd fav song next to new magic wand and its my personal fav tyler song period its so underrated and if you do show him i beg you dont tell him about all the negative reviews because going in blind with the album was such a amazing experience first listen.
Is this Tyler’s best work?
@@tombo6245 there’s absolutely no horrorcore in cmiygl lol what
By far his best. It's only been out for about 3 years and I already consider it one of the best albums ever made
@@KenIbeanusi he probably meant the agressiveness of his older work
YES IT IS HIS BEST BUT CMIYGL IS MY FAVORITE
Zero doubt
From his reaction to new magic wand I don’t know how he’s gonna survive Yeezus 😭

Agreed. And same for me, such a beautiful track
Tyler’s most cohesive, unique, and well done album. It’s a perfect story from beginning to end.
Yeah Tyler brought up the point that when black creators do something relatively experimental, it's labelled as "urban" rather than falling into the genres it would otherwise.
Yep. And he was correct. All those award shows and academy’s are weird to me
Are We Still Friends one of the best Album Outros I have ever heard in recent times.
I remember listening to this album non stop for a good 4 months
Same.

“Eyes are green, I eat my veggies” is originally an Erykah Badu lyric. Cool homage.

I’m glad ur father quickly caught onto Carti being on the artistic level of Kendrick Lamar💯💯💯💯💯
He already speaks cartinese

I read an interview one time that “I think” was inspired by the sounds he heard in visiting South African clubs. He liked to dance to it.
Gotta show him “are we still friends” live, adds so much to the song
