Being a failed classical guitarist, I have total respect for any musician that puts in the time and effort to master their craft. I understand all the theory etc but cannot transform that to my fingers. To see the machinations of a truly talented proponent is really something I look forward to when I watch your vids. Thanks heaps....maybe, just maybe...something might rub off.
It reinforces the maxim that nothing is achieved without hard work. Well Done and thank you!

No one is a failed anything.....you are a guitarist. Playing music is not about fame or money but just pure joy and that joy that is transferred into other peoples lives. Music fills the human soul.

Thanks for that, I do enjoy playing but unfortunately, I haven't the time these days to pursue it to the depth that I want. I know, 30 or 40 years ago when I did put in the practice, I surprised myself but life marches on and there are many more challenges these days!

There is no such thing as a ‘failed’ musician. Celebrate what you achieved, Because that’s more than some people can do.
I tell all my students who come in terrified to play a note that they are here to celebrate what they can do already, and then improve on that further. :)

These practice videos are so awesome! As a fellow pianist, I find them so relatable (and entertaining!). Plus, now I get to listen for these specific sections during your Gilmore concert and know all the hard work that went into them behind the scenes... SO COOL! Makes the performance seem that much more personal! Love it.
PS: You are all over the music building at my college; the music department put up posters advertising your concert! :) Can't wait!

You really Inspire my 4&5 yrs old kids they listen to you play before their daily practise for almost 2 weeks now . Especially for my older daughter, whenever she hear something she really like , she will try to play the same short piece again and again and again till she get it right . (This evening she sit in front of the piano for 55 mins just to figure out one very short piece on the top of her regular half hour per day practise . I am really Amazed !!!) it is so painful for me to force them to practise everyday before , thanks god I found a new way to make piano practise fun for my kids

I don't know if it's your fingers or the piano (both...definitely) but way you float over the keys when you play so quickly just blows me away every time I see and hear it. Just makes me smile, or giggle or laugh. Thank you for making me jealous. Keep up the great work. I have to go back and listen to you play in that church again. I got to play in something a little bigger on a brand new piano. Not a concert hall, but it has high ceilings. Between that, this video, and your performance in the basement of that church I'm further motivated to find a way to practice more (The Yamaha was tighter than my piano and the keys are really close together with sharp corners and the touch has to be plastic, but it not the super smooth shiny. It tries to have a grain. Different. Not better or worse. In the bottom of that church is definitely one of my favorite videos of 2019 and I'm at the pc far too long and watch a LOT. Going to watch it right after I click the subscriber link video. Thanks again!

wow! some intense practice. you know what will really help your practice - food. food is energy for musicians. have to eat. but you also need to take breaks periodically, take a walk and get some fresh air or something, take a little nap. Practice is always important, but looking after yourself when practicing is also important. keep up the good work!

yes! it's so easy for a pianist to sit at the piano and spend the time to learning the piece, perfecting any mistakes, and getting it performance ready. but you have to look out for yourself at the same time.

Tiffany, this is so cool and your meta-narrative is delightful. I was wondering if you have done a video (or a playlist of videos) on taking a piece from scratch to performance. These pieces are all clearly in your fingers to a greater or lesser extent (mostly greater--99% greater). Enjoyed it and would be psyched to hear you play if you ever come to Phoenix!

@@Tevinsmind there is actually an old performance of her playing Love Sorrow on YT already but a new one on her channel would be superb!

    I love your Liebesleid,
I wish I could pöay like that, but it's hard and I often feel exhausted.
But I'm still going own, and someday I'll get it!

Hi, just to let know you Tiffany, don't feel negative always. Cheer up, you need a lot of motivation. Be more positive about your own playing alright. You can do better.

I love that you put your thoughts as notations on the video. Confirmed what I always suspected of other professionals. I've sometimes don't perfect pieces before having to perform, but pulled it off for an audience, only to be thinking to myself (dang it, I missed that note or that beat or whatever). I like your approach - subscribed.
