    Again, cannot thank you enough for coming to our school and talking to our Classical Crossover class, Maestro Richman! This video is absolutely incredible, and because of your generosity in sharing this, young conductors of today can still be inspired by the words of Maestro Bernstein! Thank you again, Carolyn!

      Thank you, Carolyn--it was a real pleasure to meet you and your colleagues! I'm glad you enjoyed this masterclass--I feel very fortunate that the event was even captured on video back then. Loved your take on Game of Thrones/Beethoven 5 (terrific playing, by the way). If you're interested, I do have several works in my catalog featuring cello that I'd be happy to send your way; check it out: www.ledorgroup.com/instrument/cello/?_sfm_performance_length=1+60

      @@LucasRichman thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to watch my crossover video! I had a fantastic time making the arrangement and finding similarities between both works. As a matter of fact, I am attending a contemporary music festival this summer, where we get to pick our chamber/solo repertoire. That could be an amazing place to perform one of your works, so let me know your thoughts and, if you are interested, how I can reach you to discuss your works. Thanks so much!

      +Lucas Richman Wilson is suggesting that it would be great to have the video with english subtitle at least.
      He has got a point since the audio is quite poor for someone who's not so fluent in english (As he admits to be).
      I'm just giving him a hand! Perhaps you can do something about it?

    • @LucasRichman

      Thank you, Oscar. Unfortunately, due to the length of the video, it would take a considerable amount of time for me to transcribe the video and then add titles to the video. I'll see what I can do.

    I have a question for the classical musicians on here. Do musicians really react to the nuance of what the conductor is doing? Bernstein gets into such nitty gritty and detail I find it hard to believe that the musicians are reading the music on the page and watching the conductor and reacting so precisely. Can someone enlighten me on this? Thank you so much!

    • @OmarTravelAdventures
      @OmarTravelAdventures 3 місяці тому

      As a non-musician, I have been trying to discover how musicians react to the conductor's nuances. It is so subtle...I find it hard to follow. But you often hear it if you compare conductors. But I still wonder if it is the musicians or the conductor who is making the difference. I also would love to hear from musicians.

      The “nuances” are worked out in rehearsal, the results of which are revealed in concert. 😎🎹
