Great demo Leon! I think it's cool that FAS is doing this for all the people that are on the waite list! I guess good things really do come to those who wait!
Great video Leon. As is always the case. As someone who was fortunate enough to get on the waitlist early enough to get a first run unit, I can't say that the difference is enough for me to purchase a turbo version, but I do think given all the time those who did not get a first run have had to wait, this is a nice perk to sweeten the deal.

Sounds great, as always. I hope that while still producing rackmount units for home/studio use, FAS branches off with their 4th-Gen platform to focus MORE HEAVILY on their floor-based units. No one else can touch Fractal's software/algorithm production. It's obvious. Their competition can only exist in this space if they excel at their production of larger physical "pedal" switching units, with overseas production. The next generation unit, the "FM10" or the _"Axe FX Floor" - nyuk, nyuk_ - or whatever, can really rocket this platform to the moon with an unrivaled value. The nine switch layout is just about perfect. Only thing missing is an expression pedal, or two. _How awesome would it be if it came with a super low-latency, wireless expression pedal?_ I love my rackmounted AF3, but if I knew the FM9 was down the road, I certainly would've waited to pull the trigger. The FM3 just didn't have enough switching to be truly useful in the modern pedalboard environments. Having to lay down another $500 for an FC-6 and $120 for an expression pedal is a heartbreaker and one of the major obstacles that kept me away from Fractal for so long.

Great video and amazing tones. "...really, really make it sound gross" Yeah- kitchen sink presets are for me...though I am just as happy with nice, clean 40% tones as well. This is very interesting. I was thinking about this the other day. Since nobody can actually get an FM9, because of the chip shortage, why not go with a slightly more powerful CPU that is readily available now? Even if they had to bump-up the price a bit, at least people could get one! The FM9 waiting list has basically been: put your email address on their wait-list... and then NOTHING. Hi Leon, long time lurker 1st time asker. How the heck can I purchase an FM9 here in Australia? Been on the independent music waiting list for ever😥 And also what do you do to take care of your left and righthand fingernails / fingerpads with respect to live guitar playing? Be excellent to one another & party on! neb.
Man I feel for Andrew at Independent, huge waiting list and such a limited amount of stock coming down to Aus. I file my nails every day with a little diamond grit file, less for my playing and more to stop myself scratching my eczema in my sleep.
I can get FM9 standard for $1750 (in Ukraine) is that a good price and should I go for it or should I spend 2k+ on FM9 Turbo? Is there a reason to go for more? Because as I see - all those really "long chains" are also played nicely with FM9 Standard
@@LeonTodd one more question, Leon, how do you think is it worth of upgrading to AXE III (mark1) from FM3? Will it be better for playing mostly at home? I'm offered $1900 for it. Will appreciate your response, my mate 🤗
Mainly a workaround due to chip shortage. You do what you have to to keep the product moving for customers. I don't think its any fault of FAS about the chip type in shortage and I feel it's a positive move.
When I decided to buy a Boss GT10 a long time ago, I did it because my JCM 800 couldn't "shoot" that heavy, punchy sound... and now I'm torn between QCortex and FM9 and I want to hear some of those powerful colors of sickly expensive amplifiers (Diezel, Soldano, Mesa, Revv...) and instead some things that are common for much cheaper models. This clip doesn't really help me decide...
@@LeonTodd I hope so my friend, because almost 2k of beautiful, green bills need to change hands. Roughly double the processing power of an FM3 and half that of an Axe-Fx, although the way resource are allocated across the CPU cores differs between all 3 devices.

For me it’s the ability to run two amps which makes the difference.
@@louderthangod fair point
Hi Leon, long time lurker 1st time asker.
How the heck can I purchase an FM9 here in Australia? Been on the independent music waiting list for ever😥
And also what do you do to take care of your left and righthand fingernails / fingerpads with respect to live guitar playing?
Be excellent to one another & party on!
neb.
Man I feel for Andrew at Independent, huge waiting list and such a limited amount of stock coming down to Aus.
I file my nails every day with a little diamond grit file, less for my playing and more to stop myself scratching my eczema in my sleep.
I can get FM9 standard for $1750 (in Ukraine) is that a good price and should I go for it or should I spend 2k+ on FM9 Turbo? Is there a reason to go for more? Because as I see - all those really "long chains" are also played nicely with FM9 Standard
Standard version is great!
@@LeonTodd thanks for your answer, Leon. Appreciate it 🤗
@@LeonTodd one more question, Leon, how do you think is it worth of upgrading to AXE III (mark1) from FM3? Will it be better for playing mostly at home? I'm offered $1900 for it. Will appreciate your response, my mate 🤗
When running 2 rigs together is it required to plug in the unit stereo?
nope..not necessary
Hi Leon !
I love your vids. Is it possible you upload LT MK IV Live Grease on Axe-Change, please?! Or any link, please, please! ❤
Thank you !

The absolute cheek of them to release a new FM9 when we can't even get our hands on the regular one 🤣
"While you were waiting we decided to throw in some extra fries and a shake!"
Good thing I didn't get the naturally aspirated version........
Mainly a workaround due to chip shortage. You do what you have to to keep the product moving for customers. I don't think its any fault of FAS about the chip type in shortage and I feel it's a positive move.
Very cool but i feel like its going to get better soon with even better CPU. Im holding out
im still in the list since october 2021. sadge 😞
I believe they've just started rolling out invitations to the wait list again.
Exact same for me. :(
that's the problem with Fractal, they have a lot of flavors of the same exact product; and they release them constantly. Unlike Kemper....
You've got more boutique goodness modeled in an fm9 than you'll know what to do with!
@@LeonTodd I hope so my friend, because almost 2k of beautiful, green bills need to change hands. I know that for that money you can't even get a preserved second-hand high gain amplifier head, but it would be even worse to have wasted so much money on a tiny box that doesn't really do the job. Thanks for explaining.
@@LeonTodd there's no need to delete comments from visitors you don't like even if they don't contain criticism or inappropriate vocabulary. I will never comment or look at any of your posts again, there are other people who have the same equipment. Have a nice evening
@@kennylongnose4001 not sure what you're talking about? I don't delete comments but if you've tried to post a link or YT's filter has picked upon something that may have done it? Feel free to repost it. Otherwise have a nice day.
What Is The Stand That Is Holding Your Guitar? Thanks
The guitar I'm playing? I'm resting it on my left leg.
@@LeonTodd Thanks Man I Have Been Looking For A Electric Stand So I Can Run My DAW And Turn And Use The Guitar Without It Hangin On Me LOL Love The Channel Cheerz!
Been on wait list since February. And Leon already has 2?
I think he is already on the top of the Axe 4 and fm10 waitlist
I've been thinking about a kemper for ages but I think I'm just gonna sell my pedalboard and jump on the list for this now!
Yes ADA MP-1
Also Rackman!
In the meantime check this out ua-cam.com/video/fVtpA6DI3E8/v-deo.html
After you all waist your money on the fm9 they come out with a turbo and after you all get that it will be now we have a super charged fm9 lmao
Hi, Leon!
What’s that amazing riff on 2:48 from?
Thanks Andy! "Heaven Above" by Ragdoll
Oh, thanx! Saved to my playlist
@@LeonTodd it do be a sick riff tho =D
I want a tab for the riff at 2:48! I've heard it in a couple other videos and I love it
You and me both. Not sure if that's a Ragdoll tune or where I've heard it before?
Heaven Above! ua-cam.com/video/eVJHOaYH8Dg/v-deo.html
@@LeonTodd thanks!!!!
At the end of the video, when you're holding them side by side, the switches on the one on your left has what looks like blue tack on it. Is that to differentiate the two, since they look identical, or is something else going on?
They're footswitch toppers I got from thehomemusician.com
How does the fm9 turbo compare to an Axe fx 3 mk3?
Roughly double the processing power of an FM3 and half that of an Axe-Fx, although the way resource are allocated across the CPU cores differs between all 3 devices.
@@LeonTodd so, still not as robust as the non turbo 3. OK. Gotcha.
Not one bad preset.
Anyone know if the riff at 2:47 is a song? If so, what song?
Ragdoll - Heaven Above
Ok, I want one. 😅
*YO! These newer fractal units are very very awesome. However I have something coming up, that the whole world of players are going to LOVE, however fractal will not be to happy about it.*
Good luck with that!
*WAIT.... Did you just say, "it could do slapping-pasta - calculations?" OR "slightly faster calculations?" ...WTH LOL😀 am I tripping, or should i use headphones*
I do like to slap my pasta to check for done-ness
How do you get one?
They're serving them to a wait list as the moment, details on their site.
I wonder if they aren't using military grade components anymore since they had to get them from elsewhere? Does this mean they will be doing an FM3 Turbo too? I wonder.
