The Cerros de Mavicure located approximately 50 km from Inírida capital of the Department of Guainia. There are 3 Hills of which 1 is only accessible to the general public and can be climbed with the help of a guide, its value is COP $20,000 or USD $4 approximately. In rainy seasons it is not recommended to go up because it becomes slippery or accidents may occur.
The journey from Inírida to the hills is done by river and has an estimated time of 3 to 4 hours, this can also vary depending on the boat (more powerful engine, less time) and the return is faster because the current is in favor .
You have to keep in mind and ask if the tour includes lunch and hydration since the sun and humidity in the area can play a trick on you and you will not be able to enjoy this wonderful place.
There are places where you can stay overnight, these are from the indigenous communities of the area and the value per night is around COP $40,000 per person or USD $10 for food, approximately COP $60,000 (breakfast, lunch and dinner) or USD $15.
