Citizen was awesome, I loved this guy after that 2 solid flicks back to back.. he was on a role. I thought he was the next Mel Gibson then he start doing wussy shitty rom coms, all went down hill from there.
I think Looper is being far too harsh on Gerard Butler. He has much more depth than this guy gives him credit for. I happen to really like his movies. And really that is all that matters to me.
Lack of range? Wtf Looper? The man has been in heart-wrenching dramas like Machine Gun Preacher and Dear Frankie, in tear-inducing romantic comedies like P.S. I love you. He has been a convincing action star (300, Olympus Has Fallen, Coriolanus), a great voice actor in How To Train Your Dragon, and on top of all that, he has sung some pretty hard songs in Phantom of the Opera. Not to mention all the other great roles in movies like Law Abiding Citizen and RockNRolla. So yeah, I don't know how much these guys spent doing this video, but their point of view was very biased.
Good point. And, in my opinion, he MADE Phantom of the Opera so enjoyable. It's not like it's the most amazing movie, but I keep watching it because his performance was so charismatic and his singing so beautiful and gut-wrenching. It takes a good actor, not just a pair of abs, to pull off that performance, especially in a mask. Funny how that completely ignore his Phantom in this video.
2016: Gods of Egypt 2016: London Has Fallen 2014: How to Train Your Dragon 2 2013: Olympus Has Fallen 2010: How to Train Your Dragon 2010: Bounty Hunter 2009: Law Abiding Citizen 2009: The Ugly Truth 2008: Nim's Island 2007: P.S. I Love You 2007: 300 2004: Phantom of the Opera 2003: Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life These are just movies with $100 million+ in global box office. And he's lined up for another six films between now and 2019. The premise of the video is garbage.
I will watch any and all movies unless I am 6ft under. Not just movies. Any entertainment medium, he will be great. People will continue to follow his career. Hopefully he will be cast with roles that are appropriate as he ages. I will forever be disappointed he was not the one to be with with the leading lady in/ Phantom.
Michelle Grenier yeah, but 300 was a huge film that garnered him acclaimed that he didn't have before. The other films you've listed were either mixed to negative reviewed.
I think the thing with 300 is it not only was a good and fun action film, but it had some memorable lines that he said. People don't really quote any other films he's been in, but "This is Sparta!" is something everyone's heard of and knows it's from 300, regardless if they've seen the movie or not.
True ... I guess it just made the whitewashing seem that more apparent at the time. Which it was obvious they simply wanted a white cast. Why? Idk. But it was obvious.
I don't know where you're coming from w/ this biased review of Butlers talents? I loved him way back in Attila, Beowolf & Dracula 2000, Phantom of the Opera, Law Abiding Citizen, Dear Frankie, Timeline, Harrison's Flowers, Rock n Rolla..... etc... etc.... his accent is distinctive, I don't think he should change it , Sean Connery didn't have to. I find it odd that the only thing you critics consider as talent is the box office draw. Thanks but I will think for myself & I think Butler is just fine.
Box Office Draw isnt necessarily an indicator of talent, but it IS the only thing that matters to the people fronting the money for his next film, unfortunately.
There's still a certain amount of English prejudice against the Scottish to be found. It's been a long habit that is hard to kick. The English long have thought the Scots were barbaric, primitive, uncivilized, uncouth, and the like. At some points in history, they viewed and treated them almost as badly as the white America did to black people. Granted, many English have grown up since then and don't hold onto any of this, but just like racism in America, especially in the south, there are still undercurrents in the Isles--especially since there is often a fair amount of people in Scotland that want to break away from English control. With all that said, I don't think Butler is a "great" actor by any means, and I do somewhat agree that there is a limit of range compared to some of the more practiced and/or talented, but I would say he is at least a decent actor most of the time, and sometimes good.
Justin W "There's still a certain amount of English prejudice against the Scottish to be found." Let me bring this sentence into reality... "There's still a certain amount of Jewish prejudice against whites to be found." All done!
The video was fairly fair I thought. Gerard is awesome and really hot but he’s been on the backburner for a while now and almost seems like TV movie actor at this point. Or maybe I’m just a hater.

Law Abiding Citizen is my absolute favorite. But I watch all of his movies. He is my #1 favorite actor. I love his accent, his accent, and of course, his six-pack. I own every movie he has created. I really think this narrator dropped the ball and has no freaking clue. I am so excited for his Angel Has Fallen movie in 2019!!!!
As an American, I'm not sure why foreign actors have to do general American accents, nobody fucking talks like that outside of tv. Sometimes it is pointless to have this or that accent when it doesn't affect the story. As long as the audience can understand them is whats important, walk around any major city street and you will find Americans with a dozen different accents. Also, whenever Hollywood does a fantasy movie or a movie set in historical ancient times, why the fuck does everyone have to sound English? Romans, Hebrews, Vikings, ancient Greeks,& Egyptians.... didnt speak english and since no one was alive to hear how they pronounced words, it shouldn't matter how they fucking sound. They definitely did not speak with a English accent that no one in England has either. English accent doesnt = ancient.
johnny Doverylittle bond who is English (Scottish accent), Russian submarine commander (Scottish accent) Spanish swordsman who lives forever (Scottish accent) Irish American cop (Scottish accent) yer I get your point 😂
True but I guess that movies need a standardised accent in its films... and they've chosen it to be America as most are made there... yes it's unfair but could you imagine a Geordie action hero lol.. ( I'm geordie before they kick off)...
Bullshit! Was it "Bully Butler day"? Hope you had your fun. I can't take this seriously. Besides being at least a decent actor, Gerard Butler is a decent man; intelligent, full of humour, kind to his fans, and compared to a lot of other actors, relatively modest.
I don't understand these comments .... He is a wonderful actor.. I first saw him in PS I love you and he certainly caught my attention . He was absolutely wonderful in law abiding citizen.
Hello my lovely fan. How are you doing nice to meet you here. I really love and appreciate your comment thanks for your love and support. For how long have you been watching my movies🌹🌹💐
I enjoy watching any movies with Gerald Bulter, his accent grabs a person's attention, why does he have to have an American accent? Olympus has fallen was a great movie, I would like to see him in more movies. When he acts he draws the audience into his character. I loved his romance comedies, he is very masculine which you don't see very often/ His accent reminds me of another Scottish man that was in movies for years, I give you a hint, 007? Bond, James Bond?
Well, if he's playing a non-Scottish character, he shouldn't have a Scottish accent. But I'm with you. I LOVE his accent. In fact, I love everything about him!
no one seemed to mention Butlers fabulous role in PHAMTOM OF THE OPERA - which was awesome and his singing awesome. thats the role and caught me by storm but he has never been given a good role to show his talents...
I love his accent. I would rather hear him using his accent rather than an American accent. We got enough American actors to fit that bill. I hope to see more films with Gerard Butler acting and speaking. Btw - Does it really matter if someone gets a "late start" or not? A lot of people change careers and it doesn't spell disaster or idiot.
Chris Redig those countries all have ugly accents though. Thats why North Americans rule film & tv because they don’t have to re learn any accents. Their accent is the standard.
I like Gerard Butler, I like his movies, and his accent. Fuck the critics, they don't know shit anyway. They should run a poll and decide thyen on how the movies fans liked it or didn't, but one critic does not speak for the majority, never will.
"Youre as beautiful as the day i lost you" "He's Alive you brought him back alive" In my opinion he's talented in acting but his voice acting is on another level. That line give so much emotion
yeah its good info. but title needs work not really the case. he is out of his prime but still gets cast a lot.. like hes in geostorm which will probly be a blockbuster
*Samuel L. Jackson was a bit actor at age 44-45 until Pulp Fiction put him in the spotlight. It has been steady, probably lifetime, employment for him ever since.*
I can't believe you put him in this category! He is one of my all time favorite actors and I am a huge movie goer. I love Gerard Butler and for so many other reasons than his abs. Gamer is one of those and that wasn't even mentioned...
What the F?!!?!? Gerard is hands down the best actor I know and Olympus has fallen and London has fallen are one of the best movies I've ever watched. And I am sure I am not the only one. He's an amazing actor and the fact that he also is involved in producing and writing scripts adds only more value to him as a whole.
I remember really liking Phantom as a kid, but the movie now is pretty bad...not surprising coming from director Joel Schumacher. I'd rather just see a stage production. Also takes some real effort for one man to nearly annihilate Batman from ever appearing on film again.
It's mostly because people compare it with the stage musical. The movie feels more Hollywood, and a lot of people don't like that. Not to mention that a lot of people hate on his voice. I like both versions, though, so I can have my cake and eat it, too.
Dear Frankie was one of Gerard's best work! He proved he could act without even opening his mouth (sea horse scene). But Phantom will always be one of my favorites. Absolutely mesmerized me and made me go look him up on IMDB!
I freaking LOVE him... and his brouge. i saw him first in the horrible, Timeline, and fell in love then. London Has Fallen was fantastic! i just watched it on Netflix, just looking for something to watch because i never heard of it, and i thot it was fantastic. i wish him the best. Keep going, Gerard!
I have enjoyed most of his action roles, I love the London has Fallen, and the original for the life of me cant remember the name doh, and the whole racism shit has got to stop, everything is racist now I hate it.
About four or five years ago, in an interview I watched, he was asked what kind of movie he’d like to do next. He’s response was he’d like to not act so much, anymore, as he gets older. He’d like to chill a bit. He has a production company with his manager, so he can play puppet master, while hiring others to perform, if he chooses not to act anymore.
No mention of " Coriolanus " and "Mrs Brown". Relatively small parts especially in Mrs Brown, but he was excellent in both of them which goes to show you, the way Hollwood is marketing him and consequently his choice of roles have a lot to do with the negative reviews. One more thing ; since when does a thick Scottish accent have anything to do with it ? Sean Conery has never had to imitate any accent and he is revered and still a box office draw. Not trying to compare the 2 but the Scottish accent isn't really an issue.
They probably didn’t mention anything about him in the phantom of the opera because he freaking nailed that movie so hard so there weren’t anything to criticize about!
This is such a BS video. He is a good actor and that's fact. The Rock is a bad actor, fact. Now as far as accent is concerned, it is a Hollywood producers whim, that they want uk actors to portray a us accent. This is ludicrous and is completely out of touch with modern film goers. It has no bearing on the Film whatsoever. In fact, of late, this is now changing. Is it so hard to believe that Americans can appreciate someone from the UK living in the US, like it wouldn't make sense. This dumbing down for American audiences has long been the established belief that Americans need to be dumbed down to. I don't remember Sean Connery ever succumbing to this BS. Finally remember Robin Hood with Kevin Costner, the biggest box office hit of all the many versions made. It was brilliant with Kevin's Midwest tone and audiences didn't care, and rightly so. Conversely, Russel Crows stupid attempt at a Yorkshire accent, destroyed the whole integrity of the film and the success as well. So there you go, as an actor it's not important to use an accent, Stanislavski, the creator of The Method Actor said, always keep part of who you are in the role you play, even keeping the way you speak. He said we are not mimickers, we are Actors, and this is a completely different thing altogether. Leave mimicking to fools and playboys. 🌞
Bullshit. Phantom of the Opera was 3 years before 300. Watch him portray a tortured social outcast with a BEAUTIFUL singing voice and then say he has no talent. Also, a movie's success or failure can't be solely attributed to the lead actor's performance.
Gerard Butler as The Phantom, was a big deal and role. He was outstanding and even gived the audience the expirience of how it felt to be in The Phantom's shoes. He actual felt The Phantom's pain, and made that view vivid enough for us (the audience) to see that.
Another series Gerard did in England when he was younger was "The Jury". It was a series on BBC. I have the tapes - takes 6 hours to watch. He was younger and fantastic. Showed his huge range of talent - no one can cry like Gerard. I would recommend seeing it if you can find it.
Dude Gerard's an amazing actor. Not having range? the man has done romantic comedies, epic drama, action roles beyond convincingly. Love him & his talent
This is why my rule of thumb when it comes to movie reviews is if the critics gave it bad reviews I'll watch it, and if the critics loved it, avoid it like the plague.
According to the headline, it makes it seem like Gerard's just sitting on his but not getting any work at all! He's just simply not working right now as in, he doesn't have a film out. From the looks of things, he's actually working his tail off. Unless you're Samuel L. Jackson, you can't be working and have a film out at the same time! That's why Sam will never die, he'll be too busy working!
I really never seen all the movies of Mr. Gerard Butler but what I've seen in his other movies tells all. His passionate on his work and he is flexible. His not just into action but an artist, a singer, a comedienne and a dramatic actor. As if his doing a movie like it was his last so he gave it all not just his best but with a heart and a soul in it. Love his scottish accent. God blessed you Mr. Gerard Butler sir!
I don't understand why people critisice good actors like him i have seen 300 i think there is no one who could act like that, the movie is very very good i was hoping for his good movies in future....
I think it isn't fair to reduce Butler only to his role in 300! Especially in Law Abiding Citizen he proofed that he is able to mix great action with emotion in a role and these are the roles he should keep playing! Moreover you can view the movies who failed terribly on two ways one is and there is definetly some truth in it that Butler wasn't able to play the soft hearted guy very good but all the scripts lacked a good storytelling as well in my perspective! It is like getting leonardo di caprio as the protagonist in after earth he could have done his best but the movie would still be a load of crap. I think Gerard Butler was just unlucky with his decisions like many other actors in Hollywood as well
I don't remember him having all that much trouble sounding like an American in Olympus Has Fallen. In fact, I didn't even know he was a Scotsman at first.
since this was published on mar 20 2017. of what lack of offers is looper speaking? Gerard just wrapped den of thieves 3 days ago, keepers begins principal in about a week, there are headhunter, hunter killer, and geostorm in the can awaitng release, angel has fallen, snow ponies, dragon 3, and at least 4 more in various stages of production. 12-14 movies in 2-3 years is working your bleeding arse off. does looper know anything about this industry? or is it just some dork sitting in his mom's basement ordering netflix
He is good. i like his movies. apart from the awesome direction of London Has Fallen, i liked his individual personality. thank you Looper for the video :)
Check him out in Dear Frankie. This man can act. He can pull at your heartstrings quite well. He did very well in Phantom too. Wish people would give the singing and accent issues a break. His physique and looks notwithstanding, he's a gem!

I don't care what anyone says, Gerry is an amazing actor. My favorite movie of his is Phantom Of The Opera. Just watched it the other day. Give us more movies Gerry
I always liked Butler because his portrayal in non-CGI roles seems authentic; a normal person doing the things his characters do, rather than some super-human.
What Gerard Butler role was your favorite? The Phantom? Sam Childers? King Leonidas? Mike Banning? Stoick the Vast? Let us know in the comments below!
Tullus Aufidius
Looper the phantom of the opera. ...that what i thank wen i when I hear his name
Law Abiding Citizen! it's Fucking Awesome! why don't you mention it as a positive thing here?
Looper 300
law abiding citizen was a great movie. one of those movies were you want the bad guy to win in the end or at least not lose.
Who else liked Law Abiding Citizen? Next to 300 (in live action roles), that movie is still best I have seen this actor in.
I thought it was great! And I also really enjoyed Gamer. I think Butler is at his best in (historic) action movies.
Sebastián de Jesús Muñoz Santana I liked him in how to train your dragon better

He popped onto the screen in Tomb Raider and Phantom of the Opera, way before 300.

Lol not Arabic since the Arabs didn't leave the peninsula until the ADs
He's a great actor, Law abiding citizen is proof of that, not sure why it was hardly mentioned in this video.
fs87 completely forgot about that role. He was perfect. Sad that he died I wish he won that movie
fs87 It wasnt mentioned because it is a great movie. They cant bash him if they show good quality work of his ;)
fs87 He's a terrible actor.

No heart-throb status, eh? I've got quite the list of lady friends that would wholeheartedly disagree.
CoveOfQueenSalma I definitely find him good looking ;)
Oh wow! I love Gerard Butler! He's very handsome!
I'm a guy and even I find him good looking but I ain't gay
I think he’s hot and in a straight male
Elizabeth Henshaw Totally hot, serious, and love his accent.....he’s a cool actor!
He was so good in Phantom of the Opera
Krissyboo75 he was! Butler is an amazing actor with amazing skills
Anyone that really understands the role of the phantom thinks he was shit. Which he was.
essenceofman you're just bitter cuz you couldn't do better.
So good. He made the movie for me.
@@cutebutsadisticable Thanks for the love and support from you. I appreciate
Looper: gerard butler doesn't get movie offers.
Gerard Butler 2019: hold my beer
I had to laugh at THIS narrator, criticising how someone talks. He sounds like a fat tongued Siri
lol
no one seemed to mention Butlers fabulous role in PHAMTOM OF THE OPERA - which was awesome and his singing awesome.
thats the role and caught me by storm but he has never been given a good role to show his talents...
He wasn't great at singing but acting fine looking good even better😀
teenie beenie Over £100m in 2004. Explain yourself.
Brenda Mauro he made shitty choices in his career
Brenda Mauro but was talented as hell
essenceofman over 150million +
I love his accent. I would rather hear him using his accent rather than an American accent. We got enough American actors to fit that bill. I hope to see more films with Gerard Butler acting and speaking. Btw - Does it really matter if someone gets a "late start" or not? A lot of people change careers and it doesn't spell disaster or idiot.
No you don't have American actors anymore this is why we got to get actors in such shit holes like Australia Scottish London Ireland
"Youre as beautiful as the day i lost you"
"He's Alive you brought him back alive"
In my opinion he's talented in acting but his voice acting is on another level. That line give so much emotion
Law abiding citizens is a great movie
James Jamaica Great movie but I don't like the ending why did they have to do my boy like that lol
+Clark Drew u mean when was in the warehouse
+Gold i know i wish he would've lived
i was rooting for Clyde as well. he was right!! he should have won and gotten away with it.
loved the movie but ending was shit. They should make a sequel since if he's really that smart then he should have made a back up exit
No mention of him in Phantom of the Opera, loved him in that
still his best role. saw it in theaters when it premiered.
teenie beenie it garnered 150million + at the box office and you call it a. Flop u idiot om
Checked IMDb, he has 6 movies in various levels of production......... that is a lot.
18T220 there being very harsh on him
They're*
Yeah, i'd say he's doing alright.
yeah its good info. but title needs work not really the case. he is out of his prime but still gets cast a lot.. like hes in geostorm which will probly be a blockbuster
LOOPER IS JUST STUPID, THATS WHY.
AND I TOLD THEM TO GO TO THEATER.
GERARD BUTLER IS A GOOD ACTOR PERIOD!!!!!!
I agree
A great person too! And a true Humanitarian with a heart of gold!
Wait soooooo…… we're not going to talk about the phantom of the opera??
Damn 27 is a late bloomer? I need to get a move on
Of course! Most actors are already out-of-work alcoholics by age 27.
I'll be 30 this year and don't even have a career lol.
harrison ford was 35 in star wars and that was his first movie role
*Samuel L. Jackson was a bit actor at age 44-45 until Pulp Fiction put him in the spotlight. It has been steady, probably lifetime, employment for him ever since.*
In Hollywood, yes. Most are famous by 20-21, half become addicts and disappear after 27-28.
I find it really odd and kinda funny they never once talked about him playing The Phantom from The Phantom of the opera.
Princess Adora in
Edward Brown exactly
I can't believe you put him in this category! He is one of my all time favorite actors and I am a huge movie goer. I love Gerard Butler and for so many other reasons than his abs. Gamer is one of those and that wasn't even mentioned...
What the F?!!?!? Gerard is hands down the best actor I know and Olympus has fallen and London has fallen are one of the best movies I've ever watched. And I am sure I am not the only one. He's an amazing actor and the fact that he also is involved in producing and writing scripts adds only more value to him as a whole.
@gerardbutler5627 Hello handsome 👋🤗
What these critiques... don't seem to understand is... that this... IS... GERARD BUTLER!!
*kicks desk over*
People got their opinions regardless
was the Phantom of the Opera not considered his first big role? I mean...that is a pretty big deal...
Figgy5119 Ikr? Phantom of the Opera was amazing! They didn't even mention it.
Yah, Phantom of the Opera was freaking amazing
malfeitor665 That was his first role, I think.
THANK YOU! The entire time I was like, "I'm sorry...Phantom came before 300 and he was freaking incredible in it..."
I remember really liking Phantom as a kid, but the movie now is pretty bad...not surprising coming from director Joel Schumacher. I'd rather just see a stage production. Also takes some real effort for one man to nearly annihilate Batman from ever appearing on film again.
i adore him in phantom of the opera. a very underrated film in my opinion
It's mostly because people compare it with the stage musical. The movie feels more Hollywood, and a lot of people don't like that. Not to mention that a lot of people hate on his voice. I like both versions, though, so I can have my cake and eat it, too.
i love how the actor gets blamed for a flop. like it has nothing to do with the script or the director more than anything else.
Dear Frankie was one of Gerard's best work! He proved he could act without even opening his mouth (sea horse scene). But Phantom will always be one of my favorites. Absolutely mesmerized me and made me go look him up on IMDB!
This video is a hit piece. I wonder if the author has seen most of Mr. Butler’s movies.
They really need to use him in a Highlander remake
Much better actor than Christopher Lambert could ever hope to be!
TZ Gaming Nobody is saying he is racist. People just didn't think Egyptians look like Europeans. The film was very bad as well.
The King of Zamunda well, boo for being racist, but i enjoyed the movie. a good time.
C JACKSON It was just sheer ignorance. I am glad someone enjoyed it as I have never been so bored in my life.
he should be the next James Bond.
He was fucking great in Law Abiding Citizen
About four or five years ago, in an interview I watched, he was asked what kind of movie he’d like to do next. He’s response was he’d like to not act so much, anymore, as he gets older. He’d like to chill a bit. He has a production company with his manager, so he can play puppet master, while hiring others to perform, if he chooses not to act anymore.
Is he on the level of Leonardo DiCaprio? No.
Is he a decent actor who works with what he's got? Hell yeah!
Anyone remember Gerard Butler who played as Dracula in Dracula 2000? :D
I do. He was actually decent in that.
Only saw that movie once back in 2000, but didn't know he was in the film.
I really enjoyed that movie, it was a interesting take on Dracula, he is also hunky in it.
Sarah c isn't he a hunky in every thing he does? get it?😉
right ??
I love his movies - even with his shirt on -
;)
No mention of " Coriolanus " and "Mrs Brown". Relatively small parts especially in Mrs Brown, but he was excellent in both of them which goes to show you, the way Hollwood is marketing him and consequently his choice of roles have a lot to do with the negative reviews. One more thing ; since when does a thick Scottish accent have anything to do with it ? Sean Conery has never had to imitate any accent and he is revered and still a box office draw. Not trying to compare the 2 but the Scottish accent isn't really an issue.
He's not that bad, I actually think he's decent. Don't know why you chose Gerard Butler and not someone who actually sucks.
They probably didn’t mention anything about him in the phantom of the opera because he freaking nailed that movie so hard so there weren’t anything to criticize about!
Hi, thanks for supporting geraldbutler, you are a good fan of me, I would like to know you more
he is a really good actor...people are clueless. love the accent the bod and his movies...
I appreciate this a lot, You Are A Super Fan
The Rock is a decent actor, he just prefers a specific type of movie, but I feel both are good actors, so fuck meh. Damned from both sides.
I don't know who you are, but you deserve a cookie for saying what I was thinking
Bullshit. Phantom of the Opera was 3 years before 300. Watch him portray a tortured social outcast with a BEAUTIFUL singing voice and then say he has no talent. Also, a movie's success or failure can't be solely attributed to the lead actor's performance.
agreed. He was amazing as the phantom
Gerard Butler as The Phantom, was a big deal and role. He was outstanding and even gived the audience the expirience of how it felt to be in The Phantom's shoes. He actual felt The Phantom's pain, and made that view vivid enough for us (the audience) to see that.
Hi, thanks for supporting geraldbutler, you are a good fan of me, I would like to know you more
he should be the next Bond IMO
What bollocks, he's inbetween films.
see IMDB for upcoming films in 2017,18 and 19. and at $25,000,000 he doesnt need many. Just the one will do
After 300 I thought I would see him in a bunch more films
Jailan Simon you thought right.
But I wouldn't say that they were as successful as 300 😂
He's still got "Expendables" being he's old
+Philly blunt
47 isnt "old" unless youre 12.
Philly blunt lol exactly..
None of these factors seem to have held Sean Connery back.
😍😍😍😍 Gerald Butler.... no matter what!!!
I appreciate this a lot. Thanks 😊
I love Butler. I think he's a great actor and I love his Scottish accent. Fuck all that bullshit criticism...
Gerard Butler is my favorite actor. I hope he plays as Kraven the Hunter in a Spiderman sequel.
Bruh the Ugly truth is one of the best and most perfect rom-coms ever, dunno what critics bashed it, its amazing
This is why my rule of thumb when it comes to movie reviews is if the critics gave it bad reviews I'll watch it, and if the critics loved it, avoid it like the plague.
There are plenty of leading actors who can't act.
Tom Cruise.
Arnold, Cruise, Butler, Milla Jovovich, Angelina Jolie...they may no be great actors but they are good entertainers.
Splendido Splendente Jolie won an oscar. Seriously.
Jennifer Lawrence is bearable and decent but that's about it.
And Charlton Heston won oscars - seriously!
That's why Sam will never die, he'll be too busy working!
i love gerard butlers movies, hes so awesome, one of the best actors ever
I really never seen all the movies of Mr. Gerard Butler but what I've seen in his other movies tells all. His passionate on his work and he is flexible. His not just into action but an artist, a singer, a comedienne and a dramatic actor. As if his doing a movie like it was his last so he gave it all not just his best but with a heart and a soul in it. Love his scottish accent. God blessed you Mr. Gerard Butler sir!
I don't understand why people critisice good actors like him i have seen 300 i think there is no one who could act like that, the movie is very very good i was hoping for his good movies in future....
Casual racism?.
One of his movie get's torn apart for no reason that being The Phantom of The Opera
Law abiding citizen was amazing. London has fallen was great too.
he would make a great 007
yea he would
rabbit Nope
rabbit idris maybe but not Jamie bell, Gérard butler way better
Fun Fact: Gerard Butler made a short appearance in the 007 movie 'Tomorrow Never Dies' as the leading seaman aboard HMS Devonshire.
jamie dornan would be perfect as james bond he can spank and whip the bad guys
The phantom of the opera
Viggo Mortensen started when he was twenty-four.
I think he is awesome. Haters will hate. He's smart, funny, talented and gorgeous! A KEEPER!
Dang, this video seems to gloss over his successful career and insane work ethic. Just glancing at the number of films he's worked on is spectacular.
Butler would make a great 007.
C'mon, Connery reborn?!
since this was published on mar 20 2017. of what lack of offers is looper speaking?
And thank you for watching!
Check him out in Dear Frankie. This man can act. He can pull at your heartstrings quite well. He did very well in Phantom too. Wish people would give the singing and accent issues a break. His physique and looks notwithstanding, he's a gem!
His accent is great! No one could've played Leonidas any better in 300 and it just wasn't the action scenes, his acting also made that movie great.

I don't care what anyone says, Gerry is an amazing actor. My favorite movie of his is Phantom Of The Opera. Just watched it the other day. Give us more movies Gerry
Thanks Stephanie Johnson for your unconditional love and unending support ❤️
@@gerardbutler3334 Awe your sweet for responding. Your more than welcome!
@@StephanieJohnson-qf4zv I do give time to my fans and always make them feel loved
You said "Vo" - did you mean "Though"? After making fun of Gerard's accent you could at least speak English...
Hey Looper, can you find a narrator that can actually speak and be understood?
Gerard is a good actor..yes accents and range aside..he was great in a quite a few films...James Bond would be a great role for him..
I always liked Butler because his portrayal in non-CGI roles seems authentic; a normal person doing the things his characters do, rather than some super-human.
