Actually, the Asian Silver Carp jumps because it is startled by the vibrations of the boat motor. One fish jumps and startles the next, etc. And they are bleeding because they have no scales on their heads and hitting the boat or any hard object can cause them to bleed.
I have no idea what this means! However, you should be aware that the Department of Natural Resources asks boaters to not return these fish to the water alive. They are a destructive exotic to these waterways.
I'm thinking they have sonar running on the boat or the boat is emitting a frequency of some sort that is causing them to try and escape the water. otherwise the fish would be jumping 80/90 yards back of the boat.

As I know, in Korea, Japan and China, carp is the best fish. It's gone now (due to hygiene), but only 20 years ago, carp was eaten as sashimi in Korea. And many people said the best texture as sashimi was carp.

Flying carp are a big problem and are pushing native fish species out. They're having fun here, but it's pretty dangerous. For those of you asking when they hit the boat they bleed a lot because they're pounding their body's against the boat which isn't exactly soft. They can't control the constant flailing around and also once fish are in the boat when the other ones jump in they will hit the other fish and the scales rub against each other and make them bleed... This is disgusting to me to be honest I feel bad for the little things. Slowly dying and what not.. But it's life I guess
Being an unwanted non-native fish, it should be looked into for commercial fishing (mass collection) for possible human consumption and if not edible than for animal feed. Remember it wasnt' long ago that Telapia were considered an unwanted junk fish and now is the countries #1 sold fish for human consumption. It wouldn't be long before they were well under control and native species reintroduced + create jobs and a new commoditiy for the state.

there is nothing funny about this. these carp, escaped from an asian restaurant's tank, have now invaded most waterways. they are voracious and destroy all other fish species in the rivers and lakes, until there is nothing left. a severe tragedy. boats should start dragging nets or something to catch them to try and get rid of them.
