Since I have been obsessed with YKS, I had done some research, the writer Farhat Ishtiaq was once asked what the inspiration was behind this story and interesting it wasn't any character or storyline or social issues. This inspiration came from thinking about this scene were she imagined two people sitting near a beautiful flowing river with spellbounding mountains and them sharing their life stories and that's how the characters were then woven around this scene and the whole story was written..
