I really like the aesthetics of the new corgi blade shape. definitely a good one for practical use too.
I can imagine the office practical joker with that pen. Some poor guy slices his shirt pocket open.
Not big on the Travisa designs so far this year on the other hand Vosteed is putting out some bangers and different versions of some older designs. The tactical pens for the most part come across as very gimmicky with a bunch of features that people won't use fot the most part. Thanks for the great vid and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable.
I bought the Trivisa botton lock Japanese style knife and the button failed and the replacement one failed too

Nice video as always! You frequently mention how T8 hardware is superior to T6 and the like--is there a specific reason other than preference?
T6 head is small and easy to strip out. T8 makes it less likely to strip the screw head if it is tight.
yes they dont strip no where near as easy.
Im surprised you didn't mention anything about the new top lock on the raccoon. I have been curious about it. Is the detent better?
do you mean the cross bar lock one or button lock?
I would shred through so many of my pockets if I used the cutter on that pen. Why did they have to put it under the pocket clip like that?

I have become super picky with plunge grinds and Sharpening choils. If I can't sharpen at least 1/4th out of the blade (preferably more) I'm usually not interested. It's a tool and I don't want a smile and the knife to be ugly after only a few sharpenings. Especially if the knife costs $350+ as we see on so many of these Bestech OEM'd knives etc for "boutique brands". It's like so many of these knife designers don't really use knives much. It's really not that hard to do something similar to the Sebenza and so many other knives, or have a 90* plunge like Spyderco. I just think a lot of designers should work more before going to production, get some feedback from users and sharpeners, and really think before putting a project out. When I see a knife that will have a smile after 2 sharpenings and cost close to $400, with a mediocre "Standard Chinese heat treat" " (58-61 HRC M390/20CV) I'm usually not interested.
Darn you take that much steel of when you sharpen? You could sharpen the 1st knife many times.
no but when you lower the angle down which i almost always do like others that makes a bigger bevel and depending on the thickness of the geometry of the edge will depend on how big that is
Trivisa should 100% had put a nicer clip on that Damascus knife. Why make a beautiful knife and put a cheap clip on it that doesn't compliment the knife at all. They usually do a good job with the steel since their parent company owns 2 large kitchen knife companies.
SECOND KNIFE BITE SPIDERCO
Why? Because there is a hole in the blade? That knife looks absolutely nothing like a Spyderco and there are tons of knives with holes for deployment methods... You must be new to the knife community. Welcome. But just because something very slightly almost not even resembles something else, does not mean that it's "biting" anything.
It seems that this Trivisa really makes good and quality knives, but the designers are completely irrelevant. The only model I liked was the first model they made, shipsfoot. ..
