Casey has nothing to be ashamed about being sent down. He should be proud of what he accomplished in his first stint in the NHL. He’ll be back and better than what he was during the 1st 8 games of this season. Congrats to him! There is no way he wasn’t mentally prepared for this knowing Luke and Pesce were coming back. The kid tried his best throughout preseason till now showing the Devils he is there if they need him down the road. Can’t wait for this team to be at 100%.

Last year I think we were tied for the league lead with back to backs. It seems like we immediately have had the most so far in October. I don't mind it. Get us battle tested and the heavy amount of games now, will help later. Keep up the good work, Ace. Go Devils

Let's consider how well he did in the short stint he got in NJ and think of how much better he's going to be after being able to get more ice time and more responsibility in the AHL while also getting used to a heavier schedule. The kid is going to come back and really shine, I think. Nemec should honestly be sent down, too, when both Luke and Pesce are in the lineup. NJ has an embarrassment of riches on defense and these kids are going to be beasts when their time finally comes for real!
This is best for Casey. As mentioned in the video, Keefe was getting gun-shy to give Casey minutes due to his overall liability to the NHL team, but the kid needs as much time on ice as possible for his future. I fully believe that Casey will be hungry for more after getting a taste of the NHL and he'll definitely make it even harder to send him down after he gets called up again.

If this team is running out of gas during a heavy schedule in October, then there's no way they do it in March and April when all the teams are at their best and playing their hardest for playoff spots. Not only that, but the Playoffs are going to be even harder, more physical, and draining. These kids better get their big-boy pants on. Not sure if this is still accurate but last I heard he had a team worst +/- In his shoes I’d be real aware of that and the fact that I have this high contract for no real return. Makes you grip the stick too tight, and exacerbates the problem. Honestly best thing at this point for I think both him and the team is to waive the NTC as sometimes teams just aren’t a good fit. Now hopefully by me saying that he proves me wrong and scores a lot on that top line.

The schedule is ridiculous. There's the long break in February, and otherwise it's packed. We have 4 games in 6 nights multiple times, twice in October. I don't know if this will be a popular idea but with our depth and the busy schedule and the high-energy style, we should platoon some players. Dress 23 guys and use healthy scratches. The schedule definitely didn't help Casey. I think it also contributed to the shitty play vs the Caps and it could even make injuries more likely.
This is basically giving Palat a chance to see if he can produce with the top 2 most offensively skilled players on the team. If not then he's gotta go but he has a full NMC

I think Nemec looked like crap starting off but has slowly been looking better and better each game. Palat on the first line hurts my head. Maybe it works but at this point i think Noeson needs to go in there. Hes had time on the PP with Jack and Bratt and is the best devil at playing fetch other than the captain.

I think Pesce will make his Devils debut before L. Hughes comes back. I also think that Pesce could make his Devils debut as early as Thursday.
