Thanks and all but I think I'll just wait the like 3-4 years til we get the movie with Tommy Wisseau starring as James Franco about the making of "The Disaster Artist".
And wait another 3-4 years until defranco stars in a movie about the production of the production of the disaster artist wait I'm confused
I need an HONEST TRAILER for The Room .... do it!!!
What's the purpose for that if everyone has already said everything that's needed to be said about it.
*Chip chip chip chip chip chip
Cameren Ceniceros no one poorly imitates my favorite barnyard animal!!
Any review that opens with Roth giggling uncontrollably is gonna be good.
I want this movie to be nominated for an oscar and I want the academy to invite Tommy to the oscars.
So do I, but the Oscars snobs and elitists would hold their noses up to this film. If it isn't some drama, some pretentious "artistic" crap, it's not welcomed at the Oscars.
This would surely be the most hilarious way of "the american dream come true".
Aha ha, Oh hi Roth
I'm not familiar with The Room at all but this makes me want to watch it and then Disaster Artist, excited to check both out!
I have a fond memory of The Room because of you guys!
Years ago, I was visiting the Movie Fights set and it's when "Room" was out and you guys were having a good laugh about mistaking it for "The Room." Mark Ellis was there and you kept doing this inside joke with him and I had no idea what was going on. You guys were really nice and told me about the movie and then showed it to me on your phone. Immediately, I was hooked.
I look forward to seeing this film!
YOU ARE TEARING ME APART LISA!
the worst of all time?
THE FUCKING BEST THING HUMANITY HAS EVER CREATED!!!
Im not gonna lie, I wanna see this more than star wars 8
I can't wait to it. I love the Room in a way. And the trailers of the Disaster Artist looked hilarious, especially James Franco of course.
I think I might be more hyped for this movie than the new Star Wars
Dan is really good at being pretentious without sounding pretentious enough to be called pretentious.
such an enjoyable review, these two are gems!
So should we watch "The Room" before we watch the disaster artist or after?
Neil Breen has toppled Tommy.
The "MASTER" of stock footage, stock music and the shining example of a TRUE mess..
I know it's been a couple of weeks that you're back but still - You guys I love you and I'm so happy you're back on my UA-cam viewing list
Now Thats how you start a review 😂
Now we only need one more thing: a movie about the making of "the disaster artist".The main actor will be portraying Franco portraying Wiseau. That's some next level shit.
BM And then after that, a movie about the guy who portrayed Franco who portrayed Tommy, and the making of the movie that was made about the making of The Disaster Artist which portrayed the making of the cult film “The Room.”
If this is a hit will Tommy make a sequel
Tommy is from Poland and he was born in 1955
idoko I hate when people are ashamed of where they're from, met a few people like that.
Oh hi Mark. Tommy is "allegedly" from Poland and born in 1955.
IMO he was a secret Soviet sleeper agent, who after the fall of the USSR, wanted to fulfill his lifelong Hollywood dream of becoming a major movie star. The money for the room came from a KGB stash, and he had to go all Jason Bourne to steal it.
What a story Dan and Roth haha
I guess Tommy could be summed up by a quote from George Burns. "I'd rather be a failure at something I love, than a success at something I hate."
So hyped for this film
Saw it last night, the audience was screaming with laughter.
I watched this yesterday at an advanced screening in Vancouver. The movie itself is balls-to-the-wall funny, touching and oddly inspiring, but I must give props to the spoon-throwing crowd that elevated the experience to unthinkable levels. What a movie, Mark.
Bar none this is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. James Franco should be nominated for an Oscar or Emmy or whatever other prominent award for his performance, honestly.
Can the sequel to the disaster artist be about birdemic?
A movie about James Nguyen might actually be really interesting. He still believes that the first birdemic is a masterful romantic thriller that looks like a 100 million dollar big Hollywood film. He even started a Kickstarter for birdemic 3 that only raised $500
Valdez Saihttam So woukd Tommy Wiseau be Tony Stark in this case, kicking off thia bad movie universe.
What a review, Mark!
As someone who has seen the Disaster Artist, brace yourselves. Its glorious. If a lot of people saw this movie, the world would be a better place to live.
Can you enjoy this movie WITHOUT watching The Room and reading the book though?
Not as much as you would if you had watched The Room, but you can still enjoy it.
The movie would probably be more fun for you if you don't read the book first, so the behind-the-scenes stories are all new to you....but you HAVE to see the Room. I'm pretty sure the whole thing is on UA-cam. Watch it with a friend and enjoy the madness.
I'm such an a 24 fangirl and when Seth Rogen and James Franco hit , they really hit. I'm so happy you guys loved this and recommend it! I can't wait!
should I watch The Room before watching the Disaster Artist or after?
Jean Carlos Ortiz ive watched stuckmann’s hilariocity on it, does that count?
Young James Franco Watch Nostalgia Critic's review on The Room... That's way better...
Enjoy listening to you guys and still going strong. Thanks Dan & Roth for continuing this..
I think James Franco needs a nomination for this movie
"i did not hit her i did not its bullshit i did not. oh hi mark"
Tommy Wiseau is Dracula? "Oh hi victim. I have to drink your blood!"
He was at LA Comic-Con.. plays right INTO it sells his tshirts and everything. Pretty cool guy considering all things.
My friend told me about this movie. I watched like a 7 minute clip of scenes from The Room and was like "Yup. I gotta figure out how this thing came to be." Then I saw The Disaster Artist and really enjoyed it. Now I need to go see The Room. Turns out there are screenings of it basically all around the country on the 10th, so I'll go watch it in a theater with a bunch of people. Good times.
I'm more excited for this than Star Wars or any other movies coming out for the rest of the year lol
James Franco directed it in character not Dave Franco.
You guys are great I love the perspectives and friendliness of you both.
I actually wasn't a fan of the room, but I love the Franco bros, Seth Rogen, and the rest of the group. So, I hope I enjoy this.
Guys, half the time I couldn't understand whether you were taking about the room or the disaster artist.
Ive never seen the room, but I need to 😄
Which would you say was better, the room, or the disaster artist?
And would the disaster artist still be good if you havnt seen the room?
😄
Hadn't seen The Room before seeing Disaster Artist but the Honest Trailer really helped me appreciate it, thanks guys!
I'm so incredibly excited for this movie, and I'm so glad you guys gave it your seal of approval
Ah! I was already interested, but now I want to see this so much! Loved your impressions Dan, and your Dracula theory Roth. You're my favorite customer(s)!
I haven’t watched the room but know the mythos and watched highlight reel and just saw TDA. It was amazing since it was really heartfelt and I agree with others that the friendship is special. Also it was insanely funny. But mostly really sweet. Everyone could use a friend like tommy.
Dan saying "oh hai UA-cam haha" made my day
I loved Dan's enthusiasm for this review. Super excited to see it!
I'm really glad to hear your review. This has been possibly be most anticipated movie of the year. I love the room, I love the disaster artist book. I can't wait to see this film.
James Franco directed this movie not Dave franco
I love Roth but she said that Dave Franco directed this movie and it was James!!! Huge mistake!!
Did I??? I know it was James so really must have been a slip of the tongue...Sorry, James! -- Roth
Is it coming to theaters outside the US at all?
Hollywood loves movies about film-making (its why Argo won Best Picture despite just a being a solid 8/10). Disaster Artist has real potential to be an awards contender. Then we get the wonderful moment when Tommy attends the Oscar ceremony and picks up the award with the rest of the cast.
I only saw some scenes from The Room on UA-cam before seeing this and I had a fantastic time. This movie made me laugh harder than any other movie this year, and was genuinely inspiring as someone who aspires to make movies. It wasn't just a 2-hour recreation of the Room, but was touching, still hilarious, and just a little chicken. Cheep, cheep, cheep, cheep, cheep, cheep.
Hopefully Neil Breen will get a movie about the making of Fateful Fidings. Written, directed, produced, and catered by Neil Breen.
We're seeing this tonight. IM SO EXCITED. Oh hi mark.
am so glad you are reviewing this movie, and i love Lisa So much
How could this not win Best comedy at the Golden Globes? How?
and by the way... I did not see The Room before seeing this movie and really knew nothing about it... and nonetheless this was my earlier comment (spectacular movie)
"Bar none this is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. James Franco should be nominated for an Oscar or Emmy or whatever other prominent award for his performance, honestly."
The Room is the Maryland Flag
From their description of the film's overall intent and focus on comedy, I'm surprised there was no reference to "Ed Wood."
Oh, Hi Dan!
Q: How much better is Screen Junkies now that Andy is gone?
A: Way, way better.
Guys. I am from India. And am damn excited about the disaster artist. Can anyone tell me where do I watch the film?
I saw The Room years ago and w=after I met my girlfriend I told her about it and she watched it with me. We are now awaiting to see The Disaster Artist.
The book is incredible. Tommy sounds like the best and worst friend at the same time, all the time.
One thing about Tommy , which James Franco wrote about in the book, The Disaster Artist, that Mr. Wiseau did NOT collaborate well with people who were professionals in film making.
You'd THINK that, making your first movie, you'd get all the help you could from people who know one end of the camera from the next . Nope. Tommy bought two incompatible cameras. He didn't seem to know anything about LOCATION shoots (roof top scene) .
Somehow though, in spite of everything, it worked. Go fig. 🤷
When I first learned about a movie being created about The Room and Tommy Wiseau, it seemed like a doomed scenario. Luckily I am not a studio executive. Looking forward to seeing the Disaster Artist when it releases next month. And yes Roth, I have the same opinion concerning Tommy Wiseau's supernatural origin story.
I just saw the movie and I really enjoyed it. I haven't seen the room but watching this movie makes me want to go and watch it. Franco gave a wonderful heartfelt performance
Oh hai Dan
Oh hai Roth
I was super excited to watch the Disaster Artist because the review was up, but wide release isn't for almost a month.
I just noticed that part of their background is alien and predator but set as beauty and the beast. Lmao. That's insane!
PLEASEEE WE NEED AN HONEST TRAILER FOR THE ROOM!!!!!!
Can't fucking wait for this to hit theaters near me.
I'm still waiting for Tommy to just snap in an interview one day and have some sophisticated British accent speaking about being in character 15 years
I saw the movie yesterday in the MDQ film festival and from the first minute makes you smile. Has great moments of fun and drama, really good movie. 10/10
I haven't seen The Room (although I'm aware of most of the "classic scenes" thanks to the Internet) and I consider seeing The Disaster Artist prior to seeing The Room, just because I feel like I'd be the only person in the world that would do that... ^^
Your just a chicken cheep cheep cheep!
I hope this movie has a release in my country! I don't want to wait 3+ months to see this!!
He's just a Dracula, not "The" Dracula. Like a Highlander.
When does this film come out in Australia?
🎶 You are my rose you are my rose you are my rose you are my rose you are my rose you are my rose you are my rose you are my rose 🎶
l think this is the most positive l've herd them talk about a movie! Even in Blade Runner 2048, they sang praises for the movie, but also admited that is was very long and commented some minor plot holes. None of that here! l wanted to see the Disaster Artist, now l'm really looking forward for it!
It's great to finally see a review of this film by people who clearly weren't fans of the room lolz
Hey good folks. Just wondering if I need to see the Room to enjoy this one? I know it'd help and I should see it because it seems like a lovely train wreck. Maybe I will test you "out of the tank" experience. Just to see how much my enjoyment differs from others.
Saw it last nigh at AFI, amazing movie and tommy's story was beautifully approached.
Had a blast, completely recommend it!! :)
"Gah! My apologies. I had a slip of the tongue and said DAVE when I meant JAMES directed the film. Sorry, James! I did not do it on purpose. I did noooooot." -- Roth
Oh hi Roth.
You did naaahhht.
You deet nawt
ScreenJunkies News how about a spoiler warning next time 😑
Hahahhaa oh hi Roth.
