Why that angle? Why did you grind after the first pass? Why do multiple passes? Why change the angle after the 3rd pass? What was your speed? What were the settings on your machine? What is that rod? What is 2f what ever thats called? Why is it in a t shape? Why would you fill that entire thing with welds? Why not use metal as filler and weld it in place?
Why what angle? He cleaned the bead with a wire wheel as you should. He explained multiple passes to simulate filling a gap. To avoid undercut as he explained. It’s not mig. He showed 110 amps for 1/8 rod. It says 7018 on the title. 2f is horizontal flat as seen. It’s a T to similate welding two plates 90* of eachother. Because it wouldn’t be as strong.
@@dhughes6921 is there a way I can get tie ups down someone tried showing but i loss focus like I sometimes go to high and can’t see the weld toe when I’m welding
Very much appreciated, thank you. As a beginner, my perspective has changed. Gotta practice them angles!
Yes, the top beads you have to lower your rod to 25’ish angle. Thats what I was doing wrong and getting undercut on the top plate, thx!
youre awesome jack! thank you!
Get that set turned up. 125/126 easy
Hey I'm using 7018 rod on 1/4 metal what would be the best way to do it on mulit pass

he was so nonchalant "slag went down my neck"
excuse me...why use 7018 instead 6010 or 6011 for root passes?
Practice fill exercise on 7018
All right! Thank u!
I’d turn it up to 130 amps

You need to watch a smaw (stick welding) 101 video first.
You clearly haven’t been around metal
