I made this recipe for Thanksgiving, 2024 and it was delicious. If life and health last, I will be making for Christmas, 2024. Thanks as always cousin Ann.
Thanks for sharing!!! My grandmother made sweet potato bread but no one knows her recipe. Everyone adds eggs but I didn’t see her put any eggs in her recipe. Are eggs optional?
Thank you SO much for sharing this! I am making it tomorrow night for Thanksgiving. ❤ Do you know how to make a Carrot Soufflé? Please share that recipe too. 🥰
Okay Lynette, I don't add eggs to my potato bread, sometime if the mixture is thick it's okay to add a little milk. My recipe consist of 3 Large Sweet potatoes amount depends on how much you want, two and half cups sugar, one stick of butter, two heaping tablespoons of self-rising flour, tablespoon of cinnamon and one teaspoon of vanilla extract, or cake batter extract or lemon extract. Mix it all together and bake at 375 degrees until brown lightly. ENJOY!!!
I must say, that ,that is more like a crust less pie than bread. It has the texture of pie/pudding instead of bread. Your ratio of flour to sweet potato was off.
I don't cook my potato bread with all that flour in it like a damn cake. The different in my potato bread from a pie is that I don't have mine in a pie shell, and the reason for that I don't like the pie crust.
In the south that's how they made it. except mama used eggs but she always said not to use a lot of flour. I'm in my 60's and that's how I make it. I use nutmeg, vanilla, cinnamon, eggs and a little can milk. mama didn't use milk and another video didn't use cinnamon. I'm kind of lost without the cinnamon. But like you said each its own. I love mines the color of yours too. I even like it a little burnt.😂
It's sweet potato bread. When you make one call it, whatever you like and add the amount of sugar you like, and I will add what I like and call it what I want to call it.

Recipe of sweet potato bread
Will give the recipe soon.
Do you put milk in your sweet potato bread??
Eddie Hodges
No, milk in my potato bread. I put milk in my potato pies.
I'm coming over to get le a piece and I want you to make peka one for his bday. Which is 10-2-22. It's a surprise.
Okay! Next time.
I know that is good.
Yes it's good.
Is this a 10 inch pan?
I'm not sure.
How many potatoes did you use?
I think I used three or four large sweet potatoes.
Nutneg?
Nutmeg is optional, you could use any spices of your choice.
I must say, that ,that is more like a crust less pie than bread. It has the texture of pie/pudding instead of bread. Your ratio of flour to sweet potato was off.

@@georgiacookingforthesoul I apologize if I offended you, but you completely missed my point. Have a good day.
No; I did not feel offended. Everyone cooks different.

Thank You so much Danny!
A huge amount of sugar. Why don't you just call it what it is, sweet potato cake 🎂.
It's sweet potato bread. When you make one call it, whatever you like and add the amount of sugar you like, and I will add what I like and call it what I want to call it.
Why is thst called bread. Its pudding
I can't answer that! It has always been called Bread as long as I have known.
