Rick and Morty | S7E6 Cold Open: Rickfending Your Mort | adult swim - Фільми й анімація
i like how he sobered up as soon as he got mad with morty
he doesn’t sound as drunk anymore bc he doesn’t burp
@@kaykey963 As has been the case for multiple seasons tbh
Rick might have outsmarted his grift but Morty got him back into the game. Boy's a lowkey genius
.
It probably was Morty's plan.
I really like the choice tbh, no one expected Rick prime to be over in a mid season episode
the show has thematically become more about Rick solving his internal issues anyway, now we get 5 episodes dealing with it
The 5 Stages of Grief :D
The first stage is denial! Denial of these punch cards!
Exactly, in any other show Rick Prime would be the endgame, this series though has the balls to bring up what happens AFTER revenge.
i think in universe it can be explained through the fact rick knows he is in a tv show. To me, he knows what episode he's in, and knew if he killed him in the season finally, the show may be complete and he will "die" in a sense. Meaning he never wants to solve anything at the very end of a season so he can live.
Things Rick will always have energy for no matter what situation he's in :
- Proving Morty wrong
- Making fun of Jerry
- Sometimes Beth
@@idiomasentusiasticos7954 i n her case, it is both
Proving anyone wrong, period. It's not just Morty
😂😂😂
Especially since at the end of ep 5
(Spoilers ig)
Even when we see Rick completely disassociated with everything around him, he still manages to make fun of jerry (the one time you see him talk around the end and Jerry’s reaction is clearly offended)
I think this will be a anthology episode about different adventures to help Rick out of his funk.
oh really you don't say
“And we’ll be doing this instead of Interdimensional Cable.”
@@suarez9108I mean I want ultra realistic video games back but I don't see that happening anytime soon either.
Could also be done in a courtroom setting.
@@sonicANDtailsfan157kI wonder what call of duty it any other similar game be like?
I was worried at first but Rick's VA's voice is getting closer to the original's. Nice.
Ok? It doesn’t have to be perfect. You know, i don’t know why some people are sensitive over a voice actor that doesn’t appear in Season 7. Justin is not your friend people and it does not matter if the voices are not perfect to the original, because nobody is perfect in this world.
we need the burping
What makes him work isn't that he sounds exactly like Justin. I mean he's as close as we'll get. But what also helps is that he is able to show the range of emotion and nuances we expect from Rick.
its close but still missing a lot of emotion, bupring like others mention, raspy-ness/grit, and it sounds muffled, there needs to be more high frequency tones like bump up the 2-6k range on the EQ (sort of sounds like they got a new microphone/padding) and its a bit muffled for my liking, ricks voice original voice hit the ears differently
Rick is fine, morty needs work desperately
I was wondering how Rick would cope after finally Killing Rick Prime. Of course it doesn't end well.
a wong episode we go
thats why morty's cashing em in. He doesn't want rick to become some lonely drunk
@@jeffeyrey7099 I was wondering about the pacing of this season, which is very weird. But having a season ender makes complete sense if they had a commitment from Susan Sarandon.
@@jeffeyrey7099 Wong episode? More like leg episode...
Does it ever end well?
I love how at this point in the series an argument between them is less Rick berating his grandchild and more two best friends bickering
This dynamic is definitely strange when you think about how they are related
@@Batt-manwe can say it's an improvement from how he straight up tore him down in the first few seasons. I go back and watch that sometimes and they are dysfunctional to that highest degree. It actually is kind of insane that they managed to change their dynamic at all. That's the entire family too
@@harperl2 I think that shift in dynamic happened around the time when both Rick and Morty both started having the same responses in relation to the adventures they were having with each other, specifically the beginning of the episode where they remove their toxicity from themselves, where both are wailing with trauma and agony in Rick's car. The first time I saw that scene I could tell there was something different about their 'dynamic', they've both lowered themselves down to each other's respective levels, and so they could empathise with each other better. That's why now Morty isn't so self-conscious about himself around Rick, that's why he now often stands up to him even in a 'bantery' fashion.
Im still shocked how identical Rick's new voice is
yeah it's dead on
It's really funny just how replaceable Roiland is.
It’s not identical. You can clearly hear that he’s forcing it. Like Cleveland’s new voice actor.
@@tetermcextremely?? No
Can we just talk about the fact Rick actually went to a school thing Morty did? And apparently paid attention?
Rick loves his family. Not hard to imagine.
Nice catch! I'm surprised he didn't send an automated robot instead
I thought he was suggesting that Morty was supposed to be reading books for charity but made up a load of fake book titles to cheat - i.e. it was not a school event Rick attended. But at least he took an interest 😂
Guess therapy’s working
Nobody talk about it.
Got to admit the new voice actors are starting to grow on me starting to not even see a difference
Fr it’s spot on!
Same
I didn't watch R&M for a few years, so when i was going from season 6-7 i didn't even realize they switched voice actors. I don't think casual viewers will even notice unless you tell them
Morty’s voice is slightly deeper which is a good thing since it’s probably been a couple years for him.
Same here Guy
I like the new VAs a lot. Definitely a good successor to Justin, and even then: them sounding different to Justin is actually really good.
rick’s voice is very good imo. morty’s isn’t my favorite, but he’s also good. sounds more like a kid. some people just hate to hate
Yeah I mean I haven’t been watching older episodes since the season started so the voices aren’t jarring at all anymore, they sound normal. Morty reminds me of the blue kid from Solar Opposites and it’s a little screechy but not ruining
Love how Rick is willing to go on an adventure just to disprove Morty and not go on his adventures
I don't care what anyone says I think this is one if the best seasons..they should also let the guy who wrote the comic write on the shows. His comic was good
I think this was Morty’s way of getting Rick on an adventure again.
He literally says that yes
@@bloxrocks5179Pretty sure they meant Morty lied on purpose knowing Rick would find out. Which would force him out of his funk.
OMG REALLY????
@@papercat_morningteeth1137 I don’t know, really? I never watched the show personally.
I like how canonically Morty comes up with the titles
Imma just say it, Rick sounds like his original self from like season 1 and 2, and it's a good thing
Hard to believe all this time Rick Prime wasn't even The Main Story ARC of Rick and Morty.
"A hundred more seasons Morty! Endless characters arc! New themes and motivations! We'll never end!"
I’m fairly certain that Rick and Morty will end with Rick accepting to love himself and realizing that nihilism isn’t the answer. I’m fairly certain that Rick Prime was the last revenge arc of Rick and Morty.
Would be lame if it was.
Uhh we gonna keep going UNTIL HE GETS HIS NUGGET DIPPING SCEZHWAN SAUCE!?!!
I didn't think it'd be the main overarching throughout the show, though I did think it would be for this season.
I'm still bummed that we didn't get more of Prime.
Clever of Morty to fake these cards and receipts so he can purposefully make Rick start an adventure to prove they're fake
Love how morty pulled him out of that sad drunk stasis
I love how self aware the writing is.
Im not a fan of the last couple seasons but last weeks episode was good "Unmortricken"
Man, the analogy of this opening to the evil morty origin is scary, but you can tell that this rick is really different, he actually did make a better relationship with morty. And will there be episodes more centered about Morty's development after prime's arc ended? I mean the fake vat, planetina, accidentally ending a civilization then making Jessica a god-like being, let alone getting his personality shattered in that roy machine...come on guys, we need some more morty episodes
Last episode was genuinely amazing
I knew that a simple adjustment period would do the trick. Now I can barely tell the difference with Rick's new voice actor. That, and he's getting better.
It’s doctor who syndrome. We always hate the new doctor for the first few episodes before they become our new favorite. Except for the woman. She was awful.
@@AlfaMaleEHaven't seen the show so can I ask why? Is her acting bad?
@@jackislegitterrified3689 God yes. She got the role because of Broadchurch which she was the worst part of. Picture Kristin Stewart with deader eyes.
@@josefmehle4126 That and also it's hard for anyone to play that script well. The script was hot garbage and went against so many of the things that Dr Who was previously about
Starting to feel like rick and morty again
This is the only audit I am actually excited for
im glad the team is finally returning to what made s1 and 2 work - rick being a vulnerable person and his relationship with his family.
Am I the only one who think Rick's new voice actor is improving?
Looks like Something tells me that the next episode of the season is gonna be an anthology episode. Looking forward to see how this will go. I thought this was gonna be like an aftermath of seeing how Rick was doing after the events of the last episode when he finally killed Rick Prime.
Its like Morty trying to help Rick come back after the events of last episode, you love to see it
Really interesting how this episode’s cold open has a scene that pretty much mirrors one in the previous ep - Rick collapsed on the floor of his garage drunk surrounded by bottles of booze, and then Morty operates the door of the garage. Normally he’d just walk in via the kitchen, so I think it was a conscious choice by the writers to draw parallels to what happened between Evil Morty and his Rick to this pair.
Rick: You're lying.
Morty: Prove it.
Rick: (Calls some interdimensional being to find out.)
Rick would be petty enough to abuse his power just to prove a point.
He was petty enough to spend who-knows-how-long to construct indestructible dishes in an alien forge, just so that he didn't have to rinse his dishes to make it easier for the night family. There is no limit to his pettiness.
My prediction is that this will be an anthology episode recapping various short Adventures we've never seen
Bring on the regional plumbing convention on morty's list lol
Ik everyone thinks morty sounds very different but I kinda like this voice more than the og it sounds like he’s actually growing up he sounds slightly older
I think Morty knew 1 of 2 things was going to happen. Either A Rick was going to, for some reason, bregrudgingly accept them or B fight him on it. Either way Morty did it to help him out of his funk.
I like that we aren't doing the heavy 4th wall writing like roiland has been leaning too hard on for a couple years.
I swear the new voices sound indistinguishable from the old in this clip.
They are definitely getting more comfortable with the voices! I’m impressed
For your defective ears maybe.
@@thelightside77yea mortys is especially bad. It feels like they talk in run on sentences and i cam barely understand them.
@@andrewberdahl9922I can’t believe you actually enjoyed Justin’s awful stuttering and shouting every 2 seconds. Watching Rick and Morty prior to this season was grating at times because of how awful of a voice actor Justin is. Hell, most of his characters sound exactly the same. Mr Poopybutthole and the Lemongrabs are the only voices he can do and they’re not good ones anyways.
Well played, Morty. Definitely picked up something from his evil counterpart.
Great callback!! Rick is a drunk and a constant liar/manipulator 0:47 Morty smarter than we give him credit by having receipts!!! Lol this is gonna be a nice switch up for the people complaining about a lack of Morty this season.
Patience is key 🗝️
Usually I don’t like spoilers, but I need to know what’s gonna happen after that last episode 😂
The characters are ALL SO amazing now! -it’s been a “great ride“, adult swim! - thanks! I’ve never been happier! 👍🙃
Cheers! - judson & buddy!! - God Bless You ALL !!!
I like how Morty mamaged to get Rick out of his existential depresive drunkness crisis, by simply pising him off into an adventure. XD
It is kinda funny that, Morty finally got what he wanted way back in S1 (for Rick to take it easy on the adventures, and just let him be normal), but because many different factors (for example, Rick being just SO Depressed he couldn't even bother to just do something very mundane and minor and call it "an adventure"), Morty no longer wants it
0:42 Huh. Look. Rick did pull the trick of "let's do something mundane and call it an "adventure" " sometimes:
Regional Plumbing convention, getting good at yo-yo, chicken sandwich waffle.
(If Morty wasn't lying about it)
The way I see it, either Rick is forced to uphold these, and he starts traveling, or he isn’t but the recounting of previous adventures brings up loose ends that Rick has to deal with.
Given how Ricks threat alluded to him having pals in cosmic places I think Morty will be transported into a reality where his grandad never came into his life.
Just like in the fortune cookie episode, Rick is dealing with the feeling of accomplising his dream like when the screwed over the chairwomans fortune to be the most successful woman ever.
Opening a cold one is the most cold open ever!
I like how Morty just opened up the garage door instead of going through the inside door
Ah, an episode that goes into the adventures that we didn't see (like "Morty's Mindblowers"), possibly even a way to show off the ideas that didn't make it past the drawing board due to being too small to make into a full episode or just couldn't figure out in time. And this also helps in being a recap episode of sorts after the wildest adventure that tied up a huge part of Rick's story.
Also, the new voice-actor is starting to make the role his own and being more like the Rick I know.
I have a feeling this is going to be like the "mind blowers" episode where we see bits of unseen adventures.
It's cute how he loves playing with his grandson. That and how his teenage grandaughter still thinks he's cool.
So technically they know the formula for Rick's Portal gun, right?
The writers did it again😱 they did a giant reveal so now everyone can shut up for a while and go back to episodic again for a while🤣🤣🤣 honestly amazing writing guys!!!!!!
I laugh i cry i love this show this show with all my being.
I love when the episode doesn't come out when it's supposed to
Im glad we got a season finale episode half way of the season. Makes me think the season finale might bring a flip.
I find it funny how Morty naming the adventures is probably how we get the names for the episodes
Gonna be a time travel episode of Rick confirming that he and morty went on the adventures
I think they said they most likely wouldn’t won’t do time travel in the series but hey anything can happen.
they did break that rule once for the amazing snake time travel episode so who’s to say, this is just my crackpot theory. The friend in cosmic places is one of the time travel nut sack people
I need someone to rickfend my mort!
Can't tell if this has a sexual implication or it's just a funny joke.
@@badcatgames783 a lot of their titles are made from movie names. I'm guessing this one is named after the 1991 movie "Defending Your Life" with Meryl Streep.
what
@@adamk.7177 Oh i know that, i was refering to " @awevy 's" commented, where she said "I need someone to rickfend my mort" and i can't tell if it's just a joke about the name of the episode or a sexual innuendo like "I need someone to rickfend MY mort"
@@badcatgames783
is this a justin roiland sockpuppet account
buddy stop
Now Rick and Morty can focus on the real antagonists...
The Fandom and the writers.
The toxic fans being upset about the voices is actually hilarious. Yes im sure yall and justin have a deep meaningful connection. He was a cartoon VA ffs 😂
I mean you can have that kind of connection character to VA, Keith David is THE voice of spawn, Kevin Conroy will be remembered as THE voice of Batman, Brad doriff is THE voice of Chucky. I get why they're upset but eventually VA's will change unless the series and characters begin and end with the VA's permanently and knowing how shows can be brought back after 20+ years in our modern society it's looking more unlikely. Or in the case of Batman, how that character and others would most definitely outlive their VA
I don't mean any arguing or anything of the sort, really after typing all that I can just say let's appreciate what we get from the VA's we adore while we can
I feel like morry did this just to make rick stop being depressed. He truly does care about rick.
I’m kinda realizing this is what morty sounded like in season 1. It’s kinda like we’re hearing morty before all of his traumatic experiences over the course of the series lol
He didn't burp, my dreams were dashed, but he was drunk. That's all I expected from the new voice actor...
Thank god, the burping got annoying after a while and so many people were making fun of it
Also it was hard on Roiland anyways
Looks like we got our season 7 anthology episode, a good breather after the last episode did that major turn
Rick’s voice is definitely getting better, Morty’s still needs some work tho.
Even after killing Rick Prime, Rick is still depressed.
I understand he is still hurt because of what happened before the whole show started, but it's time he moved on and became healthy.
I don't know if it is because he is drunk but Drunk Rick sounds spot on in my opinion.
Rick took me time to get used to, especially in episode 1. Now it’s growing on me. Morty is going the opposite now that he’s more and more featured. Keep practicing though Morty bro.
ricks voice is starting to sound better
Grandpa needs a hug
He said that?
Evil morty is helping morty to make grandpa feel better. Awe how nice
dam voice actors sound good
Ah, poor Rick. He's burnt out...
Well looks like it's going to be an interesting episode!
I really want this episode to just come out now 😭
Yeah ☠️
Yeah ☠️
Mortys new voice is very noticable in this clip
You know when I finally started seeing the first couple episodes I was a bit skeptic with the voices for Rick and Morty, even though I was optimistic before seeing the episodes but after a while it actually works really well, I guess after a little bit you get used to it and it just adapts well. Congrats to the VAs and keep it up!
I think yall will be saving the show after all!!!
"Frinds in cosmic places"... totally stealing that for the D&D game😂😅😊
Ohhh boy... I'm sensing a Morty's mind blowers style off screen adventure series of flash back episode
The voices are ON POINT.
Not even close.
Finally. A Morty Audit 😂
Love a good immediate consequences episode. But mid-season? Unheard of! Love to see it, though.
Very interested to see where they take this episode
As a person with MS, I now think we are years behind on a cure because Morty didn’t actually read those books :(
Its sad you can tell that they don't really do the free form dialog what Justin would do anymore.
the rick voice is good the morty could use work
Honestly, in the season of Rick and Morty, though the voice acting feels kinda the same, but then new actors sounding like the original.😊❤
So does Morty always have those Notes and Punchcards with him?
One of the best episodes.
Worst*.
Man, to think this is the after effect of killing Rick Prime, just imagine finally getting revenge, only to feel empty.
Have not seen the episode yet if its out. But I feel like the audit will be the advantage tricked by Morty.
Rick: "This is gibberish. Isle of the Morty Saurs? Takes one to know one?"
Morty: "I make up titles for each adventure."
Are the characters mocking the show's episodes titles? Took them long enough.
I've noticed something with the voices and the comments about the voices:
Everyone could notice the difference (myself included) until we got an amazing episode, now everyone is saying how spot on the voices are. SO .... which is it? Are the episodes better because the voices are, or do we think the voices are better because the episodes got better? 🧐🤔
You are onto nothing.
To me, the voices are fine and the episodes are good. So maybe that comment is not meant for me.
I always thought the voices were fine. It confused me how people say it turns them off from the show, and would rather have justin back or legit just use AI. Of course it's going to be different, but they still sound like a Rick and a Morty. I like them just as fine as Justin's original portrayals.
I can’t even tell a difference. Everyone saying the voices are unbearable and that it’s painfully obvious are just salty that they fired the old voice actor
@tpd1864blake you have bad ears, bro. You also shouldn't condone having someone fired over allegations.
Best show on adult swim 🙌🏽 next too aqua team .
Hell yeah and aqua team is coming back Nov 26th
Imagine after killing Rick prime then all Ricks get a signal alert that Rick prime has been keeping one Diane to himself all this time 😂 n killing him unlocked the hidden place
"You little gremlin" lmao
0:50 Now we know that every previous episodes was named by Morty 😂
voice is getting better but they still need the burps
I keep having to say this to people but go back and rewatch the show Justin didn’t burp as Rick once throughout season 3-6
We need the Rick burps then in my opinion voice wise would b even closer to our drunk Rick
This is a good thing to think about; What next now that Rick has finally killed Rick Prime? What is Rick supposed to do?
