We're in a golden age of guitar technology. Seriously - $70 USD? Unreal. This thing would've been four to five times the price just 10 years ago. Oh yeah: it sounds great, too.
This is my 3rd Flamma pedal. Each one has some good sounds in it. This one actually has 3 or four well voiced “models” that can be tweaked nicely. Blue (clean) and red (dirt) voiced channels are useful. Just wish there was a way to tweak an already edited setting without “starting over.” But, for $70, a great value.
Michael Caz Truthfully, I haven't found it to be that noisy at all , for the money it a great pedal with a lot of possibilities, don't think you'll be disappointed
@@michael_caz_nyc pretty much no noise at all. Never had a problem with mine. Has the boutique amp sounds for chump change. Flamma is starting to kill the overpriced pedal market. I got there stereo reverb (definitely some major strymon vibes) thats fantastic for no more than $60 on sale on Amazon. Great pedals and Great Sounds.
Works great. I use it in the fx return of a Harley Benton Tube 15. All the clean and dirty amps sound great. Better than overdrive pedals. Only thing is that you cannot switch between more than 2 sounds by foot. I'm thinking of buying 2 more fs06's and a looper switcher to have a clean, edge of breakup crunch and lead sound.
I got one. Read on. It should be called an "amp emulator" not a "pre-amp". When I think of preamps I think of either a board preamp, so a pedal like the JHS Colour Box is an example, or I think of an amp's pre-amp, like the Ibanez Tube King which is just an tube pre-amp section in pedal form. This Flamma pedal is more like a collection of Tech21 Character pedals. I got the Flamma to use in place of my amp's preamp (via send return). Didn't really do so well in this usage. Used as such, the tone controls just don't have enough effect. Can't really 'tighten up' the high or low freqs as much as one may like. But my amp's EQ section is out of the picture when plugging in via the send return. So if your send return comes pre-EQ in your amp, I think you'd be able to use the Flamma in this manner. As an amp emulator (running directly to board or DAW), it should do pretty well. I didn't try it that way, but I was running it side-by-side in my testing with my Tech21 Blonde amp emulator pedal, and based on that I think it'll work well as a direct-to-board amp replacement. You *may* still need to tweak the top and bottom freqs on your board. The Flamma is very full-frequency. Best thing about this pedal is the dual channel feature. It's nice be have the EQ controls separated for each channel of the amp you're on. I find real amps lack this to their disadvantage. I'll set my clean channel up EQ-wise, but then I'll want to adjust that EQ to make the drive channel sound right. I always end up compromising on shared-EQ amps, and neither channel ends up sounding perfect. This pedal lacks that problem, which is super great! You have to save each channel at a time when working with an amp setting, so it's a there's a bit more 'back and forth' you must do when setting the thing up. Not a really problem. Very easy to change the "stomp switch" mode. Although there's a type in the Flamma instruction - they say the stomp button will pulse in one mode - it's actually the amp selector button that pulses. Mine occasionally gave a squeal when I powered it up. Probably software related, but quickly fixed by just cycling it again.
@@Neil-Aspinall Yup. Just like plugging it into your PA for 'amp free' gigging, you may want to adjust the EQ and such. It has a built in cab sim. You can turn that on or off, too, if you want to run it into an amp instead.
@@angelone1839 I think so. But I also like to bypass my amp's pre-amp and run my pedals directly into the power amp. Opens up the freq spectrum a lot. I returned this pedal because I could NOT control the freqs enough. I couldn't tame it, no matter how I used it.
Bom dia!
Nice video! I just ordered both this and the FS07 Cab pedals. I think it’ll be a great inexpensive solution to give a lot of sounds and combinations. Looking forward to getting them here!
I have one and it's pretty versatile as an amp simulator. I haven't tried it as a dirt or boost pedal yet. It sounds good. I wish it had MIDI or other external switching.
Hello, great video. Question. I am planning a more analog ampless setup with this one. Can I use this with my drive pedals then straight here as my preamp, then straight to my NU-X PDI-1G Guitar DI and use its built-in cabsim then balanced XLR out straight to the mixer? Thanks. Trying a noob ampless setup.
Hi there, Do you go from this pedal directly to your audio interface? Is this the way you recorded in a daw? Usually analog drive pedals sounds bad if we connect it to a sound card. How about this? Thx
I've got one, plugged in into a crappy amp with random unmatched speaker and it immediately sounds like in this video. This can't be real for 70$. I could complain about the lack of bass, or about how wide the range of this 3band EQ, but even without that, it's amazing. Also, notice how volume, gain, or the frequencies jump when Mike changes them. That's because the dials are digital and the select button restores the previous values from the preset, until you touch the dial. Make sure you always touch the dial upon select change
Nice demo but has someone tried using it as a preamp going into the fx loop of an amp? There are 1000000 demos of this pedal but absolutley no one shows how it sounds without the cam simulation
You know what I think (cuz everyone wants to know right :O) ) Um, I think something got lost in the translation, honestly. I think someone with less than experienced English and Amp culture/history meant to say, when asked, "What amp is the 1st channel based on...", they responded with something like "The Deluxe, ju kno the wan sound good for Blues. You mean the Blues Deluxe, they said, Sure, yes yes Sure that one!.... Lost in Translation.....
Yes. Press the Save/Select button and the footswitch at the same time to toggle between no speaker sim and speaker sim. When the Save/Select light is flashing, that means speaker sim is active.
I just picked up the EHX Platform and EHX Operation Overlord. Platform is a compressor with OD and swell. The Overlord is a meaty overdrive. But both are stereo with isolated channels (no blending - essentially two pedals in one). Neither would work as an amp emulator, or would be 'great' as a pre-amp (replacing your own amp's preamp via the send return), BUT both can at least do a bit of tone and character shaping.
@@sirius_li I'm liking the 'swell' feature of the Platform, and its compressor is nice. But I'm not bonding with the Overlord one bit. Just not my flavor of OD.

All the nuances are clear! Great tones in rights hands! A hug from Brazil!
With the presets and ease of use I can see this as a very compact and handy tone tool. All the Flamma pedals have been stellar.
Awesome reviews. You consistently have the best tone on UA-cam. The playing is always fantastic. Very inspirational.
