Well the ceeling is always keeping to grow as you can tell there was a time when 1,2 GB RAM phones were just enough but soon highly demanding apps and games started to come and the need went to 4GB now I will say it's 6GB when LPDDR4X. Just like this if u want your phone to run the apps and games in the future you need more RAM, that's why flagships start from 6 or 8 these days yes I am talking about Android here. It's a part of longevity as is. But if you change your phone often and don't care about background apps multitasking and highly intensive gaming 6GB is enough. If you are a normal user 4 is just fine if higher sppeds. If u are a guy to push the Devices to limit then the more the merrier hope I was able to explain. 😊
I was planning to buy samsung a23 5g varient second hand. I like that phone but I have only one concern it has 6ram ram. I don't play games that much use multiple app any suggestions

Go for any moto smartphone in your budget that has 8gb RAM it's better to avoid 6GB unless RAM management is good enough to keep up. I recommend the Moto G 54. Buy first hand if you have enough money or 2nd hand.

I could confidently say that after 3years 12GB RAM will be minimum & 16GB will be top end version.... Technology is ever-growing thing & so will be the specs required by users
Somewhat true,as 6GB RAM was considered more than enough for a smartphone a few years ago.Today,I would say that is the minimum required,while 8GB would be a sweet spot and 12GB RAM will offer future proofing.Additionally,as AI features truly become more prominent to the overall smartphone experience,the RAM usage will also surge accordingly.
From what i have seen 4gb of ram is more then enough for MOBILE, if you are a gamer and trying to get more performance look for a phone that got a faster iGPU not ram or storage Most of the ppl don't understand what is the diff between System RAM and Vram etc, here's my opinion on RAM ranking's 3gig of ram is LOW, 4gig of RAM is mid, 6gig of RAM is good enough, 8gig of RAM is a little to much, 12Gig of Ram is not worth going for 16gig of Ram is totaly useless, 6-10GB of ram is the sweet spot...

i just bought poco x6 base variant 8gb/256gb and it already came with 4gb virtual ram enabled and it could be extended upto 8 gb , although i appriciate the company for not marketing it as 16gb ram even though it is a performance centric phone but the enabled virtual ram really annoyed me .
We need LPDDR5x with 8-12GB RAM..(main cuase is thwse games and video editor which consumes.large space..) Virtual RAM.will be useful enough when having UFS 3.1 or 4.0
4 gb Ram is more than enough for any kind of app or game right now out there. I have opened more then 10 apps and games at a time and found no problem or issue using those apps or playing games with 4 gb only.
My phone has 24 GB RAM with 8gb expandable ram ...so in total 32 gb ram. In add to this I edit all my videos with my mobile even with size 20GB OR 30GB file size.
