I don't think there is a reset procedure for the MHC-EC50. I'm not finding one in the service manual. Also it seems like a physical issue with the CD drawer mechanism as opposed to a software thing. Could try using the reset procedure for the MHC-EC55: 1. Turn on the stereo. 2. Press PLAY MODE/TUNING MODE, FUNCTION, and (the power button) at the same time. 3. "RESET" appears on the display and the stereo turns off.
Thank you for your feedback. I’ll definitely try the EC55 reset on it and hopefully that fixes it. I’ve had pretty bad luck with mini systems these past few years but this one I hope turns out to be a good one since it’s 100% complete except the manual.
@@mikesjunkytech9425 I got my MHC-EC55 mostly complete as well, with original remote and replacement antenna. It's too bad the CD mech and circuitry in mine is dead...would make for a good repair project one day. Hopefully everything goes well for your MHC-EC50!
